@Elhanan.. We know.. Youve said the exact same thing 12,000 times.. We get it.. You got some special edition of Inquisition that had more content, extra banter, no coding problems, and was apparently sent back in time from 2yrs from now, when its finally finished..

Oh, and  m+kb work just fine..  There.. Saved you another post...

No bother at all. As long as we can get the same folks complaining 12,000 times, I am more than willing to include my notes of a game that has done so well for this long on KB&M. Thanks for noticing!

Still not bored at all....

I'd just like to clarify that I'm not a hater.

Yes, this thread, and some of my other posts, are critical, but that's because I only feel the need to provide feedback on aspects of the game that are ruining my experience.

I wouldn't contact a toaster-making company if my toaster produced delicious toast every single time. I'd just ... enjoy my toast. lol

So you can safely assume that anything I haven't complained about I find perfectly enjoyable.

If we all just pretend that we're happy with things when we're not, then BioWare will merrily believe all of the professional critics' glowing reviews, assume they created a masterpiece -- and then scratch their heads in wonder when far fewer of us buy Dragon Age 4. lol

Far better to be honest now in the (imagined) privacy of BioWare's forums. It's what they're for, after all.

I agree with the opening post completly, those are exactly the issues i have with the game aswell.

And I also agree that the loot is too weak in the game.

People can argue all they want but I'm sure Inquisition life span will be VERY limited. As much as people praise it for being amazing, awesomeness lasts few playthroughs. While we are here, 6 years after Origins with people loving the game I HIGHLY doubt anyone will care about Inquisition 6 month from now. In fact the more the time passes, the more poeple realize game's faults. Soon only the paladins of Bioware will like the game.

Probably DLC will make some people go back and play to see if the game becomes good... each DLC will have a VERY SHORT "hype time" then they will realize game is not gonna be great, that there is no salvation for such amount of ****. Also when the other games, the real good ones, are released they will bury Inquisition deep into the depths of hell.

Not even with all Bioware hype people were hyped. Just visit game forums. There is no hate for Inquisition nor praise. There is nothing. It is not even worthy talking about. Even Resident Evil remake had more people talking about. So well, let this zombie die, it fed on Bioware's fans but anyone (including me) who bought DA2 and bought Inquisition don't have a lot of brain anyway so the zombie will starve soon enough.

Im willing to bet, a majority of its haters, got it for the first time free when they got Inquisition, and are judging it by todays standards..

That's the thing, though. Origins stands up well against more modern games. I don't need nostalgia glasses to say that Origins is a better game, because it's still better, even with its dated graphics.

I know the side quests are so BLAH, grab this grab that. Going to the store, just to buy milk is so stupid. If only a new jug was in my frig every week or two. Anyways, in all seriousness what is considered a good side quest? Snatch and grabs, kill a bandit, kill a dragon. Sound like typical side quests to me.

DA:I has some sidequests that are awesome in theory, for example conquering the keeps, or that area where you have to burn the dead bodies in the pits, or even just sealing rifts.

the problem is that the game obviously was rushed out and they couldn't fill those things with story and life enough.

They all feel exactly the same, they all feel insignificant.

there is no cutscene, no unique dialogue, just copy&paste.

and in the end of the game none of it matters, i expected the game to be like mass effect 2, just with even more focus on building your army, collecting resources, etc.

the game also tricks you into thinking that this is how it's going to be.

but it can't live up to it, it almost feels like they couldn't make the 2nd half of the game because they already spent too much time and money and then they just quickly created some short story quests and a boss fight and  BAM game is over, nothing ever happened.

They probably also lost a lof of time (like in DA:2 i assume) because there are so many little differences depending on your choices in the previous games and depending on your race, gender, and so on.

but what does it matter if you see anora or alistair as the king of ferelden if you can only hear them speak 2 sentences and then they never appear in the game.

would have preferred some more meaningful and fleshed out stuff instead of tons of tiny things that you don't really care for at the end of the day, not with all the big parts missing.

From how the game was designed you'd think that the more sidequests you do, the more influence you have, the more villages you saved, the more factions you allied with your inquisition would grow, you'd have epic battlefields, and so on.

just like the mass effect 3 ending (I'M talking about the battle to take back earth, not the very ending of the game) or the mass effect 2 ending.

It is just DA:2 all over again imo, a half finished game that could have been so much more if they didn't set their goals too high.

A good side-quest, by BioWare's former standards, is a quest that incorporates interesting dialogue, antagonistic characters with complex personalities whose faces we can actually see, a tangible connection to the overarching narrative -- and bandits and dragons to kill.  (:

Nearly all of the (best) side-quests in Inquisition jump straight to the bandits and dragons.

And that's just not good enough for long-time BioWare fans. We thrive on story and character-driven drama. We like killing things as much as your average action-game fan, but, unlike said fan, we need to know why we're doing it. We need to feel motivated and vindicated (unless we're playing an evil douche, which should also be an option ... and was in Dragon Age: Origins.)

Now, instead, we feel like we're crossing chores off a checklist.

Most people enjoyed Origins.. Hence its critical acclaim so many years later.. Some people just follow the cool kids, whihch today is hating on the better quality game.. Needing to lie to themselves, in an attempt to not feel ripped off with mediocrity...

It's pretty silly to try and tell people who liked DA:I that they shouldn't have liked it. And most people like DA:Itoo.

Edit: I actually agree that peoples' tastes aren't really all that grounded in the "quality" of the things they like or don't like, although in the very long term I suppose quality does reveal itself. But you and I don't get to exempt our personal tastes from this skepticism. I like Courtney Barnett a lot more than Beyonce; this says a lot about me, but not much about music.

Well lets be sincere in my honesty then.  I'm not glad that people liked this game enough to encourage EA/Bioware to do more of the same. I think it's a Rift's MMO rip off and falls short on many things. Bugs galore on release...who enjoyed this? Playstation limitations on programmable keys/mouse (I have a pc).... Its been months now, come on give me a decent patch WTF????  Butchered the skill trees/magic choices and the classes.  A nice story was developed in DA2 and was narrated by Varric & Cassandra.  The mage/templar war had such potential ....it culminated in the resurrecting of  a dead enemy and a green hand...epic failure!!! (Mass Effect 3 flashbacks for story abortions).  Cutscenes are awe inspiring...the music great during said scenes.  Kotor2 used to save cutscenes..would love that in this game. The inquisition/war table seems like a mini game that has no bearing on the main story line (especially the Corphy battle).  Why am I a great leader who is condemned to a life of tedium (harvesting, crafting, and paper clean up).  I can assign everything else (granted the war table does have some gathering) but I have to spoon feed the crafters why? Make me a sword worthy of a hero my cute little dorf friend...heres a dozen soldiers to collect what you need....move the FK on.  I spent more time holding peoples hands instead of leading a great inquisition.  If your going to put me in position of responsibility then it ceases being a starter adventure game and should become epic and stay that way.  This has a cool lead in to skyhold and then declines right back to tedium.  The great general is eccentric and likes to pine away hours making his own armor...FK my duties to Inquisition I have better things to do like...pick notes off the ground. This game can't seem to find its way.

Clearly the worst for me was building up an army and castle for a battle that never came.  That just friggen killed it for me...what a HELL!!!

This game was clearly a swing and a miss.  I don't think all the kings men and DLC can save poor humpty dumpty.  This is a clear and present uninstall.

Agree wholly with the OP. It seems pretty clear that Bioware is chasing after a different demographic now, yet still trying to dupe its long time fans into thinking that DA:I is still the Dragon Age franchise we loved. On this I'd say they've been successful. But as they say, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. We need to stop buying Bioware games, for as long as Bioware think that they can have their cake and eat it - catering to the players who enjoy dumbed down mechanics and shallow story experiences while taking money from us, they will keep doing it. Voting with one's wallet is always the best recourse. This is the only feedback Bioware listens to.

I already stated that Bioware has been successful in having their cake and eat it too, for now, in my original post, so save us your shilling. Sadly, there are way too many gamers who prefer dumbed down mechanics and shallow story experiences, so enjoy your game.

Many user reviews like on  Mega-critic are giving it a bad review (average total is 5.8).  With more giving it a negative review than positive. So like any grifter ..fool me once.  Next time we will see how DA does with its name sullied.

Like Creative Assembly it takes a few times and your pre-orders start to plummet, because people don't trust you anymore.  Time will tell how long it will take them to trash Bioware's reputation.  Nice thing about PC's is I have the torrent sites to test companies I no longer trust.  Why I didn't buy Sims 4.  The poor playstation crowd has a rougher time of it.

Same here. For all it's faults, DA2 had a good story despite the nonsensical ending (Orsino turning even when siding with him) and reused maps. DA:I is the signal to me that Bioware is jettisoning its long time fans that loved their stories.

If you're finding wandering around doing dull side missions boring then stop wandering around doing dull side missions.

Honestly, why is this such a difficult concept for people to understand?

They are completely optional, just ignore them and complete the main story and companion missions. Combined they are around the same length as DA:2's.

Personally, I wasn't one to complain about the side missions here (although I find the complaints funny).. and your suggestion works well enough.

But the main story isn't all that great either, relatively speaking. It isn't terrible. I just think they've done better in the past. I also think the Inquisitor is the poorest effort at a protagonist yet. I'm able to roleplay and fill in the blanks... but I expect more. Because Bioware has done better than this. Filling in the blanks is something I expect more from Bethesda. Not Bioware.

As for sidequests, sure you can avoid them. But even then, the sidequests in past games were better too. More than often, you were worse off if you did avoid them. Not better off. They were traditional single player RPG quests. Here, it resembles MMO sidequests. A lot of busywork and little narrative.

The story isn't a bad one, but it does put the player in the passenger's seat and not in the driver's seat. Big no-no in an rpg.
