So im a bit confused, started killing some high dragons for the first time, and the first 5 were the appropriate level for their area (Hinterlands dragon was lvl 12, etc etc). I just got the Vinsomer on the storm coast and the strategy guide says he is supposed to be level 15, and the guide has been right about every other dragon so far, But vinsomer is lvl 19, the same lvl as my quizzy. So my question is this; is there something that makes high dragons scale under certain circumstances? Was Vinsomer supposed to be lvl 19? or did he scale up to my quizzy?

 

Im just confused cuz there has been no scaling in this game prior to this dragon.

AFAIK, No; the Dragons remain set.

However, as they have distinct AI for encounters, they may provide a challenge and XP for any level; unconfirmed.

Hmm, well it seems that this dragon shoulda been 15 when i faced it, but it is reading lvl 19. well, oh well, it's a fun fight

Your guide is wrong, Vinsomer is supposed to be level 19:

I think Corypheus is the only enemy that scales in this game.

From what I can tell dragons don't scale.  The Northern Hunter is a level 13 (I think), I went in to kill it but forgot to change out my electricty staff for my cold damage one and got murderized.  I was a level 14 (this was before my specialization to KE).  I came back later at a level 16 and she was still the same.  I always seem to have issues with the electric dragons. Go figure.
