Not a CRPG fan?
I've heard that ARR is a great single-player experience, like TOR. That true?
Never played ToR actually, but yeah I'd say FFXIV has me sucked in completely, especially after the halfway point. The beginning is probably the slowest part but it builds slowly and steadily and I was kind of blown away by some of the twists, which, I mean, I can't even remember the last time that happened in an FF game. They clearly put a huge amount of effort into it IMO.

I started playing Far Cry 3 last night. Not a bad looking game considering I'm playing on the 360.

Aaannnnddddd a mission just glitched out and I can't complete it, meaning I have to start all over again... ...again.
I'm taking a break from the game instead. Time for a sandwich.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, Guilty Gear Xrd, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution at the moment.
I really want to get my hands on both of these. Can't wait to buy a PS3.

Xrd is also cool and you can do some crazy things in the fights. The characters are also hilarious.

I've been playing Hand of Fate, and it's a very pleasant surprise. It combines A Card Collecting Game, A CYOA game, and an Action-RPG in a balanced and near-seamless manner. The only gripe(that seems unanimous among reviewers) is the combat mechanics aren't very satisfying and a bit clunky. As a whole, it's worth the price of admission. I'm roughly 1/4 through it.

^I'm actually waiting for a PS4 system update to finish so I can get that.
As for me, I'm currently playing far too many things and probably shouldn't get Hand of Fate, but...
I've got 4 Wii-U Virtual Console games on the go - Earthbound, Fire Emblem, Breath of Fire and Yoshi's Island, the last one I got for free by burning through the last of my Club Nintendo points before they shut that down.
I've also got Apotheon, which was free on the PSN. I didn't play that much, though, and I keep forgetting I have it.

Final Fantasy 14 mostly, but already cancelled my subscription for it again. Think I might be done with MMOs at this point.
So back to playing mostly CK2 now.

Also started an Ork campaign in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution. I've already played through the Ork campaign twice, but Orks are hilarious. "Dem Inquisition humies can't be trusted any farther dan dey can be thrown, which in dat one's case might be a bad example." Hehe.

I've also been playing Divinity Original Sin. I'm not too keen on the idea of role-playing two different characters, so I gave my male character an AI "personality," but I stupidly picked "Loyal" and realized within a few hours that it was pointless, he's just going to smile and nod to whatever Julliet says. I've stuck with it though for whatever reason.
Pretty fun game. I do wish that it was set during a later period in the Divinity timeline, because it's basically a new period where I have no idea what's going on, but it's just cool to be part of that universe again.
Combat is good. The amount of choice in how you play is pretty impressive.

It's a worthy title. Very smart level design that fits each god or goddesss, and they keep it varied. It's a relatively toned down greek mythological game compared to the over-the-top set piece hack-and-slashing from God of War. Not that I didn't love that, but it's a nice change of pace.I've also got Apotheon, which was free on the PSN. I didn't play that much, though, and I keep forgetting I have it.

This thread is a step in a better direction for Off Topic.
Yeah, I second this. We need more threads about video games and less about Bunz's pecs or identity politics or whether we'd like to f**k the avatar above us (I wouldn't, btw, she looks more like Recon's type).
Anyway, I've recently been playing Transistor. Pretty good game, with a great combat system, although I have to admit I have almost no idea what on earth the plot is actually about.

I was playing Transistor last year for a bit. The art style is awesome. Unfortunately my laptop is ass and would overheat running the thing after about 20 minutes. I could probably play it now since my room feels like a freezer everyday but my internal keyboard is messed up.

-Tried Life is Strange. Mayyybee intending to get all episodes over time. We'll see.
-Backed Dreamfall Chapters, and looking forward to Chapter 2.
-Been going through Mass Effect trilogy with a friend (or rather, she's playing and I'm watching and helping at times), though I'll be continuing my 'Definitive PC Trilogy' playthrough once I can tolerate the Mako more.
-Playing Dragon Age: Inquisition off and on. Technical and gameplay issues impede my in enjoying my time, but the good parts keep me going. I don't hate it - I just can't take it sometimes. It didn't help that I didn't learn from my previous attempts of Nightmare in DAO and DA2, which would keep frustrating me and making me walk away for a while. Now that I've put DAI on Normal, I'm flowing through content better (Hard might be more fitting, but at this point I just want one completionist playthrough done ASAP).
-RIFT MMORPG playing, through not pushing myself through. Maybe the next expansion will get me raiding again.
-Lots of traveling around to friends' places or hosting times at our place with my boyfriend, playing Wii U (Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros.). So much of this that it's inevitable we'll get Mario Party. Also semi-promised to try the next Xenoblade once its out.
-Suspended playthrough of (SNES) Terranigma, but I have to finish it for my bf's sake (he really wanted me to play)
-Might try the newer Tomb Raider game again. Might try MGR at least once to completion because its soundtrack and scenes are hilarious and awesome. GTA5 is the first GTA I've actively wanted to buy, but I want it for PC, and might wait for a new PC.
-My 3DS has Pokemon White, Fire Emblem Awakening, SMT4, and I intend on finishing all of them at some point.... (and move onto the new gen of Pokemon games to an extent... but I never need to play all of them; PX+Y are just really awesome looking and finally a bigger evolution of things IMO)
-The next Mass Effect is the only game I obsess about.
I think that's it. I almost never have the urge to buy a game anymore, since my library is so large. Straying away from grindy multiplayer/massively-multiplayer games because I have too much I need to do IRL to get my life in order.
Perhaps waiting for the VRevolution to occur for me to get utterly hyped about the future waves/years of video games. I honestly consider much of this console cycle and the next couple years to be a lull (at least as far as I experience the hobby), but I think this is temporary, and that I'm not going to entirely walk away from gaming at any point in my life (that's right! I'll be 80+ and mind-jacked into the Matrix!).

I envy you console kiddies whom get to play DOA5: Last Round while us PC overmen have to wait until late next month.
Meanwhile, I've been playing some Rex Rocket and throwing the occasional tantrum with the challenging (but fun!) bosses that on par with Freedom Planet's.

Hope you have plenty of hours to burn through, it's quite addicting.
Valkyria Chronicles NG++, Far Cry 4 NG++, Dark Souls NG, and Hitman Trilogy (when I have bad day).

Currently I am playing The book of Unwritten Tales 2.
It is great that high quality point and click adventures still are released, and this one is funny as hell .
