I just heard that the weight glitch stops working when
somebody joins the ongoing game ??

But with my Wraith I use 2 heavy mods - on a caster character (!)
so I really should have noticed if that was true.

Because hundreds of people have already joined the games I was playing in
and never noticed a difference.

I am playing on a PC.

Does not happen every time, it is very random or happens under certain circumstances.

I was under the impression that if you used two weight mods on the same gun it would cancel out the glitch.

I haven't noticed if it stops working in game, but I definitely know that you can use two weight mods on some weapons and it still doesn't apply the weight penalty.

Original, non-DLC weapons can use heavy mods without the weight penalty. Using ULM - even on the alternate weapon - usually fixes the bug so that you'll be hit with the penalty again.

When other people join mid-game that also sometimes fixes the bug, but apparently that depends on their loadout somehow. Whether it's because they're using ULM or DLC weapons with weighted mods or something else, I've no idea.

I can say that when the weight glitch breaks it doesn't depend on somebody joining the game in progress as this used to happen to a friend of mine during duos. It rarely happened and all we did to "unfix" it was restart the game. In my experience, it never happens on host and it only happens when the host is laggy.

A wild smoothcrmnl appears! Is DAMP losing it's hold?

The way the bug works/doesn't work is the following (taken from a very old thread that I don't remember which). Enjoy ;)

Weight penalty mod + specific DLC weapons (like Reeger) = weight penalty works as advertised
Weight penalty mod + ULM on another weapon = weight penalty works as advertised
Weight penalty mod + Weight penalty mod on same weapon = weight penalty works as advertised
Weight penalty mod + Weight penalty mod on another weapon = weight penalty works as advertised
Weight penalty mod + anything not ULM, not another weight penalty mod or not DLC weapon = weight penalty n/a

Here are DLC weapons that the weight penalty mods will work on, always:

ARs:
Striker
Harrier
PPR
Typhoon

SRs:
Kishock
Krysae
CSR

SGs:
Reegar
Piranha

Pistols:
Acolyte

I thought that someone once said that if you are the last person to join a lobby, the weight glitch won't work (sometimes).  Or maybe I made that up.

I'm skeptical of this one. I frequently use shotguns with both the HVB and Omniblade and do not recall the weight penalties being applied.

So does that mean if I equip a Black Widow with High Velocity Barrel and put any other mods on Hurricane except SMG Ultralight Materials that will power recharge speed to -5% instead of supposed -55%?

http://kalence.drupa...!4802545!!EB9A3

and Cloak recharge cooldown after full duration in cloak to 6.7 seconds instead of 10?

Yes, the 50% extra will be shown in you character's sheet, but it won't be applied in the game itself.

You can definitely use two weight penalty mods on the same gun (so long as it's one of the weapons that the glitch works on) and it will still glitch and not apply the cooldown penalty.

I have both omni-blade and hvb on my Krogan Shaman's Disciple and he has no extra weight penalties.

You can check to see if the glitch has worked by placing all your weapon mods on then checking the powers cooldowns, then exit the character (go to select a new one), go back in to the same character, DON'T go back into the weapon screen, but go look at the powers and if it has worked the cooldowns will be back to whatever they were prior to the extra heavy mods being added.

As soon as you go back into the weapon screen the glitch will undo and the full penalties will be added. SO with that in mind if you want to play fully legit you just need to go into the weapon screen before going into a match.

Good to know. Thanks a lot.
