Okay. So, can someone please enlighten me here? I've been going over it and over it and I can't think of a plausible scenario of why or how Solas met up with Corypheus and gave him the orb anyhow? This is the best I can come up with.
Solas: Yaaawwwwn. What a good sleep. I'm sure happy to be awake. Wait a minute, elves are in terrible shape! Darn, if only my powers were at their most efficient, I could help them. *Looks at his orb.* Need to find somebody to unlock this sucker for me, so the elves can be all immortal and magical again. Maybe I should look up Mythal, see what she's up to nowadays...
Corypheus: *jumps into body of Darkspawn that is coincidentally near Solas* Raaaaarrr! I'm an ancient magister and super powerful!
Solas: Whoa! Hey buddy. Mind helping me out here? I've got this orb and I don't currently have enough power to use it to give elves their rightful place in the world.
Corypheus: Of course, my good man. Why wouldn't I?
Solas: *gives orb* Thanks man. You're really doing me a solid here.
Corypheus: Yess... a solid. That's what I'm doing. You don't by any chance know where the southern Divine is right now, do you?
Solas: Er, I just woke up but I think she may be in Haven. It's a good bet, anyway.
Corypheus: Thanks, bro.
Solas: No. Thank YOU, bro.
Seriously, someone please tell me a plausible scenario where Fen'Harel gives the orb to Corypheus. Please.
It's not clear what plot Solas had, but based on what we see in DA:I, he was likely as subtle about it as he was with the Inquisitor. If it weren't for the final battle that broke the foci, after all, Solas would have recovered it just fine.
And there are some game files that suggest the foci is related to Mythal from what we see. Which adds a new twist to the post-credit scene, in that it seems like Solas always had a plot to take Mythal's power to restore himself; plan A was just his option to avoid killing/hurting his friend.
