Apparently, during the Templar quest, when the demon impersonates your advisers,  it was originially written that Leliana (well, the demon) tries to seduce the Inquisitor and it was possible to actually sleep with her/the demon. Bioware allowed play testing for the templar quest, and some female players found it offensive so they scrapped it.

 

This is what Lady Insanity stated in her Assquisitor playthrough

 

Makes sense why they cut it.

 

Either the Inquisitor is aware that it's an Envy Demon impersonating her and goes along with it, turning the protagonist into a complete and utter creep, or otherwise the Inquisitor is completely unaware that this isn't the real Leliana and would have been raped by fraud?

Not to mention nonsensical. What would the Envy demon even get out of that? At least in the current version, its trying to figure out your personality and presents situations revelant to how you act as Inquisitor.

I suppose it could be trying to work out how you tick by your reaction to being seduced, since having someone you've known for a while suddenly turn around and start working their mojo on you, would probably tell it quite a bit about your character?

 

Are you the sort of person who'd go along with it, politely decline, be nervous, awkward, or decide to quickly make an excuse to leave?

As Varric points out after leaving the Fade, you can never know you actually did leave The Fade. So for all intents and purposes, the ass you are seeing -including all potential future & past asses, given it was stated clear that the Nighmare demon has direct access to your memories-  might in fact not be nice at all! It might downright be horrible, ghastly and repuslive even. How can you know what reality, not only as a concept but as a sensation, too, really is? Following this trail of thought**  can it accordingly be argued, that Justinia has an equally probable "nice rack" in turn?

Had there been options to romance Leliana, or Morrigan for that matter, I would certainly have done so. Each character is a franchise favorite of mine, but I agree with the decision to exclude them, as their previous relationships with the Warden would have made "loving up" on them somewhat problematical for many fans.
