In case you don`t get the joke.. add the mods and then compare with the final product.
Also, apparently 7 + 4 = 10 too.
[EDIT]

Apparently only the tooltip is broken.

What did you use in the slot?
If you used t2 mats you actually got 3.5 heal on kill, but the game rounds up.
However, it looks like it you stack similar stats together on an item it doesn't add the rounded up stats, it adds the original stats and then rounds up. If that makes sense.
Ahhhh, so that was the issue.
Thing is, I have similar situations, where it is 8. Here`s the staff:

Now here`s my question: if I use t3 mats is it 4.0 and t2 is only 3.5, or are we facing a bug? I can`t remember if I used exclusively t3 mats for the Pyre as opposed to whatever caught my eye as the highest value of what I was aiming for for Fury and I REALLY won`t spend ONE Silk to test it out.
Sounds like a rounding issue as Actionhero (love the handle) mentions.
It happenned to me too, I did it a second and it worked ...
Aha, thank you thank you. Will recraft once I get the mats.
Yes. It's a rounding issue that your running into. Things like that when they stack they add actual values and rounding is done after that total is found. which is how you can end up with 7 instead of 8 even though each piece alone would give you 4. But from what I can tell it's the tool tip either way. I think the healing you get actually comes from the actual value and not the rounded value your shown. So your healing would still be only 3.5 or 3.75 or whatever instead of the 4% the tooltip rounded to. At least that's the way it seemed on a couple of my items.
Thank you. I`ll recraft with exclusively Tier 3 mats and see if I can to a clean 8.
so jealous right now
you got all the good staffs - what did you do? sacrifice goats? druffalos? wraiths? demon commanders? tell me and I'll do the same ![]()

I am doing 120k buying sprees - I am obsessed with round numbers and I also wanted to know what is the "real drop rate" on round 100 samples. It SEEMS (but I`m sure it`s just my brain playing games) that you don`t get as many duplicates in the same "buying spree" - talking about purples here. Sure, I DO get low level purples, like the second Perseverence bow, but the staves - I got all 3 within 50k gold , but at the 75k "buying mark", kinda sorta - if that makes any sense.
Overall, though, I am sitting poorly - with 450k spent gold I have only top staves and bows and half the good other stuff - missing ANY HoK rings, got Walking Bomb and ring off a chest in an op, same as Leaping Shot and Explosive Shot ones. Passable 1H, 2H and shield (got both Magehunter and Dwarven Proving shield though), but still no Caliban or Sulevin, or the top shield. Got the superb Cunning necklace, but still no other superb, let alone the Willpower one.
Mindchill I got relatively early and used for a looong time (240k gold-ish).
I THINK it`s more of a timing issue than anything, as I am within the statistical model - I`ll need probably another 500k to get everything, in which I`ll get increasingly more duplicates, I fear.
tl;dr: I am buying in 100 sets of Large Chests. Doesn`t help with anything, I think, but it SEEMS to limit too many duplicates within the new items / chests. Probably just hearsey, but that`s what I`m doing.
Mage hunter is one of the top shields. It and Emporer's hold the place up there for slightly different reasons. I'd want both so I could try different things and get different advantages out of each of them.
