You do realize forum participation is not required by them... or by us. If you feel you are being kept in the dark and being fed BS, nobody is forcing you to stay here. if I felt that way, I would leave. I don't feel that way, so I am still here.

Most people have left the game and the forum. Quite frankly I don't care for what bioware employees have to say and would prefer if they didn't participate unless they are actually going to get someone to be a community rep and actually give us meaningful information such as when the next DLC is coming out. They ignore us and they ignore this game, and what I read from them such as their claim that balance is not important (FFS, even MEMP had balance, what is going on?) shows me how little they understand about the issues of the game. They can claim to be "looking at" things about the game all they want, and they can toss around ideas of some "Nugapocalypse" game mode in the design room all they want. If they knew what they were doing they would've supported DAMP the same way they supported MEMP from the very beginning and have already implemented from the get-go all of the very brilliant game mechanics in MEMP instead of going against all common sense and give us nonsense like terrible netcoding and a trololol loot system. It is not good enough for them to just now state they simply "Plan to" support DAMP the same way they supported MEMP. We were promised this support and free DLC's even before the game was released. It is already over three months into the game since release and just recently they are working on DLC's.

There's a lot of things in the pipe right now and once we get through those, we can then focus on smaller balance/quality of life improvements that will be messaged out more regularly.

Also, dev's are all individual people.  Some are very comfortable talking with fans, others are not, but they still read comments.

As a producer part of my job is to be an advocate for the customer, plus I gained a lot of experience the last 2 years as the main demo-er and sometimes interviewee during the press circuit, thus feel comfortable posting/having my words ingrained on the internet.

I've made it part of my mission since joining the MP team to get involved in the forums, twitter, streams, to work on building the community more.  No one asked me to, I just want to do it, because DAIMP is fun, our fans are awesome, and I like doing these kinda things.

While that sounds all lovely, it will be pointless for people like me who face major issues with the matchmaking in its current forum. Can you at least comment on whether this being addressed or will be addressed in the near future?

It was already stated by a dev today that they cannot talk specifics about DLC yet. Regardless of whether or not the timeline seems good/bad compared to when ME3MP DLC came out, if they literally can't tell us when the target date is due to NDA, then they simply can't tell us. To be honest, I don't remember a dev ever posting on the ME3MP forum saying when DLCs were slated to come out until they had the official okay to do so (such as posting a DLC "hype" trailer or whatnot).

I just honestly find it odd to say you'd rather they say nothing here unless it fits what you specifically want to know... but at the same time, you complain about being left in the dark. Either you want interaction or you don't. I don't think it's necessarily fair to expect the fans to dictate what they will or won't/can or can't talk to us about. They seem to be telling us what they can which, again, is more than the silence we had previously. Maybe you don't want to hear what they have to say, but maybe other people on the forum do, you know? I have seen many people post in this forum begging to at least be told "we're looking into it"... just something. And then, when they do, folks such as yourself poo-poo it as BS. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario if I ever saw one.

You have to admit that the population has dwindled by quite a fair margin, especially if forum activity is something to go by. This forum is barely as active as the ME3 equivalent, and that's been out for ~3 years.

Can't comment on a specific issue you are having without any details... Have you posted in the technical support forum, there are far more experienced/qualified people there to answer questions like that.  That would be a better place to get more eyes on it, and if there are a lot of people experiencing it, we can see trends, and make fixes.

In general, matchmaking, like all our systems, are always on our radar for improvements/fixes.

I said I personally prefer they not post. And the only time I would care for them to post is if it was actually useful information and not simply "Looking into it". We are being left in the dark in the most important ways. We waited ages for them to fix the key bug which should never have been released and which never should have been allowed to go without rollback, they just let a large percentage of their player base suffer and they didn't even tell anyone that they could quickfix the issue by removing the so-called 1st DLC (you only got four DLC's left, folks). Many of the primary issues of the game remain untouched, so what is going to happen with the future patches and DLC's, they finally make this a not-so barebone game that is still a shadow of MEMP?

You say I am dictating what they will or won't, can or can't, talk about. No, I simply prefer they don't talk because all I've seen is a lot of BS like "balance not important". You say they are telling us what they can tell us, but really what have they told us? A lot of nothing, a lot of very irritating nonsense, and some common sense stuff like commendation and victory chests having higher odds. I bet if they said the sky is blue you guys would be jumping with joy.

You claim that I'm making it a damned if you do damned if you don't situation. No, I'm saying that DAMP hasn't been supported as MEMP was and I am not at all pleased at how little additional content there has been. The people at bioware are way behind schedule if they were planning on releasing new DLC, bug fixes, and balance changes "like they supported MEMP". We'll be lucky if after the 1 year of support we're promised that DAMP even approaches the degree of balance, relative bug-free state, and amount of replayability that MEMP had at release.

I don't think it were as crowded as ME3 forum right from the start. Also, activity in game may be inversely proportional to the sales price. We'll see what happens here and in the lobbies when DAI goes on sale first for $20 and then for $10.

Thank you Blair for sharing this.  I can appreciate your perspective, and the fact you are here doing something you have zero obligation to.

Some of us are incredibly passionate (perhaps to much at times) about this game because we do like it—and want it to succeed—and are looking for more consistent information and involvement with the community.

If you are going to quote me, please actually quote me instead of changing what I say.

"balance not important" is not "balance changes, as said on the stream, are of less concern to us than other fixes". Or you could have taken the quote from this thread, "There's a lot of things in the pipe right now, and once we get through those, we can focus on smaller balance/quality of life improvements.."

For example of things "in the pipe", the key drop issue was one of them. We prioritized that over class balance changes.

Messaging of the key-drop fix/work around's could have been improved, moving forward we intend to be better at it.

I did misquote you because the meaning is the same, but I'll quote it in full here

6. Character balance changes

- As we said on the stream, these are of less concern to us that other fixes, as our game is not a PvP or competitive environment, having a character that is stronger than others is not game breaking.  We will keep monitoring agents and their power levels to adjust as we seen fit.

I don't know if you are just giving your opinion on balance or you are telling us bioware has no intention of addressing balance anytime soon, but the idea that balance is not important is very wrong especially since it has resulted in a very disproportionate stacking of ranged classes which means much  less replayability of melee classes. It doesn't take much effort to balance abilities and classes, and most of what people have said on the forum about imbalance is true and just changing some abilities to reflect what has been said in small increments every week could go a long way to adding a lot of replayability to the game. Prioritize other fixes if you want, but really, is it that hard to do something about arcane warriors being faceroll easy due to overpowered fade shield, archers spamming longshot every 2 seconds due to opportunity knocks, or keepers spamming barrier to make the worst teams viable in perilous? Is it that hard to give underplayed melee classes (lego and AW aside) some more damage reduction so that they don't make up ~5% of characters played on perilous and are often kicked if not playing with friends?

Messaging of the key-drop fix/work around's could have been improved, moving forward we intend to be better at it.

Several people and myself kept trying to get bioware to at least sticky the thread on how to quickfix it if they weren't going to patch it or rollback in a timely manner. We kept asking that announcement be made in-game or in origin because most players just don't go to the forum and won't figure out by themselves they could quickfix it. If you guys read the forums why didn't you guys do any of this? I am not impressed that you say that messaging could have been improved or that you intend to be better at it the next time such a gamebreaking bug occurs because you guys did the worst possible things you possibly could the last time.

I'm referring specifically to being put into a lobby on my own when searching for matchmaking or in some cases I will get a notification saying something along the lines of 'Could not find lobby' <- Not the exact words but along the lines of that. This is especially noticeable on Perilous difficulty where it has taken me at times up to 40+ minutes to find a game (note this is during peak hours in Europe). I'm 90% sure its not a connection issue my side as my connection is good and by the sounds of it this appears to be a fairly common problem.

Hopefully this is something you can look into

You keep assuming your views speak for everyone, they do not.

You get angry that your views are not addressed, that is both unwarranted and unpleasant.

I would like to do a few more perilous missions, I have succeeded in two (2).

When I do I'll probably run Keeper, Arcane Warrior, Ele or Lego.

Please don't dictate everyone's balance requirements to suit your own needs.

Yeah I know a lot of people who have this issue. I cant tell if there is some sort of region lock in place or there is an issue with player prioritisation - I seem to bump into the same people on a regular basis which makes the player base feel very small.

Region lock sucks. Change please.

Also, as a former destiny player, the difference between bio ware and bungie is night and day. Destiny still hasn't fixed the glitches that people have been asking for, they only focus on gun balancing. Raid glitches and lack of feedback from admin.

I would just like to say thank you to the admin and devs for actually listening to the community and fixing things In damp. Key glitch fixed(except for giant sometimes) in a reasonable amount of time.

The dlc was free as opposed to 20 dollars for crap dlc in destiny. Different armor skins, weekend events , they are on the right track.

Alright have fun. After you've played all of the overpowered classes like I have and you try to play the weaker classes and keep getting kicked from pug perilous games we can talk again. That is, assuming you even want to touch them. Papertari is not happy.

Please don't dictate everyone's balance requirements to suit your own needs.

It is not just my opinion. It is common knowledge to players who regularly play perilous that AW and archer are the two most powerful classes in the game and can cheese through the game with record breaking completion times. If you are so afraid of nerfs, then fine, they can balance the classes by making all of the other classes as strong as AW and archer. Happy? Balance is still important, despite all your weird statements.

Yeah I know a lot of people who have this issue .... .

IMO, and I have had this issue quite a lot, it is not some region lock or something related to matchmaking. There are very few ppl who are looking for perilous (did I spell that right, Mortiel?) pugs. I usually sit for 3-4 minutes in that newly created lobby of mine and it gets full pretty quick. Some ppl also don't want to host on gold (sorry, Mortiel) for various reasons. I sort of feel some kind of obligation to carry the game if I host in the case if something goes wrong and I cannot do that normally on perilous. I feel nothing if the team wipes when I'm not hosting and I feel bad about it if I'm hosting.

Yeah, I honestly think that specifically Fade Shield and Opportunity Knocks need some minor tweaking. Don't break those skills, but make them a bit weaker. Or introduce enemies that have Spell Purge/Dispell that can remove Barrier and/or enemies that have a resistance to critical hits.

I'd also like to note that the Elementalist should be on this chopping block as well, as having both Barrier and Death Siphon makes him a bit too sturdy. I would say they should remove Death Siphon and replace it with another passive, as damage and control classes in this game should have a down side.

EDIT: Removed suggestion/example changes.

I am for small incremental balancing. Like... 5, 10, or at most, 15% changes, and then receive player feedback, adjust again as needed in a week or few weeks later.
