So I haven't been playing DA:I since maybe a month after it's launch due to life being life. I could originally run DA:I with my current computer on a mix of low and high, it'd push my CPU to damn near 75-80% of it's power, but I could play it with no lag or stutter. Now it seems even running it on Low causes me to get 100% cpu and constant lag/stutter. So my question is did they change anything? I know normally my computer shouldn't have been able to run it but I did it, I could and it was amazing. Now it's become unplayable and nothing about my computer has changed. Here is my specs.

Intel Core i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80Ghz 4 CPUs

8192MB ram

Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti

Windows 7 x64

So any ideas what it could be and how I could fix it?

Specs, RAM, slow end on the GPU and, graphics card mostly.

That and the stress you put it under running the game to begin with.

Imagine your computer is a compact, 4 cylinder engine car. You use that tiny car to haul 1500 Lbs of hay to cattle in a field every day. Sure the car does it for a while but, suspension, transmission and engine break down quickly because the car was never designed to do what you made it do. Now it won't even move with the hay loaded in but, still drives to the grocery store okay.

Pretty much the same thing happens to computers, ask them to do more than they were designed to do and, they wear out pretty fast. Might still do okay web browsing, watching movies, even running less demanding games, but push beyond their limits and, they simply can't do it anymore.

If the game won't run on the lowest possible setting, there isn't much you can do except upgrade or get a new computer for the game.

The only thing I know of is that they have fixed a separation issue with the mesh and shadow quality (regardless of setting it would default to "ultra"), and in the upcoming patch they will include more option for shader quality. If anything your game should be running better today than it did on launch day. My advice, update the video drivers and perform a scan in Origin for corrupted game files.

I get that for the settings I was running it at on the details I was running it on before. However, I'm on all low...I play Smite on Max, Tomb Raider on Max, even Far Cry 4 with no problem, but DA:I Seems to be the one having the most problems. Bioware's own specs are quoted at Minimum are 8800 GT card and my 560 blows that out the water for sure. So I'm just wondering whats going on.

I'll try scanning with Origin however I just updated my graphic drivers with the latest not too long ago, but I will check again for sure to be sure.

The 8800GT was an amazing card for its time. When mine failed, I replaced it with a 560TI and saw very little improvment.

I had just bought the 560 Ti to replace my 450 GTS, so it's a major improvement, but my friend also switched between the 8800 to the 560 and said it was so much better, he at least could tell the difference because games ran better and he could run games that his 8800 couldn't run. It's a good card, and is better than the 8800 by all means, so it should be able to handle the game on the lowest settings because I meet the minimum requirements, that's what I'm getting at, Low should always be the Minimum specs, but it seems for DA:I it isn't at all.
