Why can't we have a romance option like Isabella for straight male gamers? The gay male gamers got Dorian.

In Dragon Age 2, if you play a MALE HAWKE and wish to romance Isabella, you can. Isabella is extremely attractive.  To gay men, Dorian is extremely attractive.

So the question is why don't straight male gamers get an attractive romance option like Isabella, Morrigan or Leliana in Inquisition?

Please no trolling or flaming.

Bioware, just please answer the question, thank you.

(This thread has remained open for quite some time, if it gets closed I understand, thank you for hearing me out Bioware *cheers*).

Responses to this thread:

Isabela wasn't straight.

Correct, but she is romance-able by a straight male hawke.

I don't see any real similarities between Dorian and Isabela so you'll have to explain what you are looking for, OP.

Dorian and Isabella are highly attractive.

This quote from David Gaider comes to mind:

"Let us all hang our heads in melancholic commiseration for those who must endure the presence of insufficiently feminine women. They are the unsung heroes among us."

The real issue is in the technical approach of the 3D geometry and the original concept art of Cassandra.

https://www.youtube....h?v=LS9vD12KxDg - The difference between male & female faces from an artists perspective.  Compare this data to Cassandra Pentaghast's geometry in 3D Studio Max.

Cassandra in 3D Studio Max - Compare every part of her face to the artists drawings in the above youtube link. I'm not going to give my personal opinon, instead I want the viewers of this thread to draw their own conclusion.

Experimentation

Just for fun.

Does anyone realistically expect a thread complaining about a companion's appearance with regards to romance to warrant serious discussion?

Yes, because Bioware games are highly immersive in every regard.  It's no different from being immersed in a hollywood movie that has intellectually stimulating and thought provoking content of a sexual or non-sexual nature.

Why do you want Isabella like character available only for male PC? I certainly would like her to be bisexual as she was. It's my favorite character in all DA (Lelliana is close second)

I have no problem with that, I want everyone to be happy, not just a particular group of individuals.

More experimentation, just for fun. Enjoy.

PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC.... THEN.........

STARE AT HER WHILE LISTENING TO THE ABOVE SONG, STARE AT HER FACE THE WHOLE SONG.

I think that's it for now, if only DAITools can import facial OBJ's back into the game,

Another picture just for fun:

You do have that option, she's called Isabella. You don't get another Isabella option because the Isabella option has been done

Because there already was Isabela as romance option for "straight male gamers" and the writers don't really like repeating themselves when it comes to writing characters and/or romances, especially in a row.

I am so utterly confused by this thread, especially since as many already have pointed out, Isabella wasn't straight. She was actually one of the few character in DA who was very open about her sexuality. I am also extremely confused how Isabella is comparable to Dorian as a character, as they are so utterly different.

On a more positive note, considering the amount of hostility and shaming directed at Isabella, I guess it's nice that someone is reminiscing about her in such a nice manner. And I was and am a huge fan of Isabela, so that wasn't meant in any way as a negative.

Isabela and Dorian are nothing alike from what I saw...

Do you just mean two "conventionally" attractive NPCs?

I'd guess the similarity is supposed to be how they both pretty open to talking about sex and such, and have humourous approach to it?

I would think that this was a request for a browner female love interest, but Josephine is right there. Can't think of much else Isabela and Dorian have in common.

(Dorian would make a fabulous pirate, though. If only the poor baby didn't get seasick.)

Also, do we need another romance option like Isabella? Just because some people don't like the current option doesn't mean we NEED to add other options, especially not option that rehash previous ones

I have that saved on my computer as a document file.  I've got the link, because awhile back I used that quote and someone had googled it.  Apparently only my usage of it came up as a hit, so I tracked down the thread.  That way folks knew I wasn't putting words into DG's mouth.     ;)

I love that response to things. Just mock random people while taking other ones deadly serious.

If DAI is any indication, the real way to get listened to is to make one thread, and just have it ramble on for a billion replies until Bioware thinks it's a significant enough share of the market to listen to. Worked for the "Why can't we see more Lady Inquisitor in the marketing" and the Cullen general threads, didn't it?

If anyone takes having their LIs in a video game "deadly serious," then they need some serious therapy.

Because Isabela was already a love interest in a previous game.

And I don't see really any similarities between Isabela and Dorian, other than the fact that they're both not white, but Josephine isn't either, so that must not be it.

But now you've got me thinking about how hot of a pirate Dorian would be, so good on you.

As a fan of Isabela, I don't want future companions to be like her, because I'd rather they not feel like a rehash.
