I'd support more LIs for SMGs if for no other reason than more content is always a good thing.
Additionally, Scout Harding and Varric should totally be bangable because I'm tired of my dwarf Quizzy (not) getting screwed.........

I don't think it should change.. seemed like she went through various designs pre-release and as far as I'm concerned, finally nailed it with this design. If people complain, so be it.
The only thing I can understand is if people wanted another character to romance (for males, that is). More options are always cool. I don't think they should change other characters to suit people though.
I don't think so either. I think Cassandra is beautiful.
The ultimate frustration for me, is that I sympathize with those who wish that straight male PC's had more of a variety of options to a point. Both Cassandra and Josephine are straight-laced, pro-chantry. There are a few more similarities between the two choices than there have been between female LI's in previous games.
But that gets so bogged down with talk of Cassandra's "masculine" features, that any reasonable feedback is drowned out by both the less reasonable feedback and the vitriolic response to it.
There should be more complaining about Bull's head. Wtf is up with that?
Nothing is up with his head. He's awesome, so no one is complaining.

These kind of statements make me think of strategy games that have 15+ companions that need to be babysitted for their loyalty less they leave and pokemon games.

I feel the exact same way. It's not so much the feedback threads as it is the tone of them. I've posted in threads where someone was asking for variety in personality for with the LIs of the straight male characters. They weren't going on and on about looks, which I appreciated. They thought that Josie and Cass had too many personality traits in common (which hey, I can see that to a degree) and there was a lack of any options that weren't pro-Chantry. So I'm about that and supporting more variety. It's when I hear "Disney Princess that I can't bang" or "Cassandra looks like a dude," I tend to tune it all out.

And all I'm left with thinking about is the head.

We'll agree to disagree about Iron Bull's awesomeness.
I still can't believe that, somehow, a romance being 'Disney' is bad.
Because people can't see it as an ideal instead of a reality, same thing why people don't understand why people like reading Harlequin romances.

What bothers you with the word dysney princess ? It's what intended the devs, that's what call themself her fans in her thread, that's why some of her fans love her and her romance content. I don't see why it would suddenly not be legetimate to not like her for those reasons. Those words are used because they can easily sum up what people could also dislike about Josephine and the content of her romance.
I really like your personal reasons for liking Isabella, but in the larger scheme of things they are irrelevant.
Just look at the OP. Only reason he wants an Isabella is because she's extremely attractive, and he thinks that Dorian is extremely attractive to guys.
No talk about personality, humour, whatever. Just the looks. And that's what matters to most people.
Or are we suddenly going to act that the world isn't shallow as *bleep*?
Yes. People being shallow about LIs in their electronic toys. Oh the horror.
that you do not like flirting, courting etc. because you said:
Frankly I like it when the relationship evolves naturally and within the context of the story as an aspect of it, DAI still has not perfected this but it tries. I do agree that the 'sex scene' should not be the end of it, it's lame because it decides that it's the sole goal of mine. 'You banged a fictional character, quest done, congrats'
Well maybe I'm not remembering it right (one playthrough so far), but it took a really long time to finally romance her. Maybe because I did a lot of the side quests. I had the feeling that you don't have many options talking to her and suddenly, she's all about "why are you flirting with me?". It was a bit abrupt in mine opinion and it didn't feel really natural. Also there was no real challenge. Just click at everything with a heart on it and profit.
Lol
Gotta love how some straight males talk for all straight males. ![]()

You can start flirting with her in the first conversation at Haven. As for it not being a real challenge, yeah I agree, we seldom get to really work for it.

I was so confused by the turn the thread had taken until I saw that OP had updated his post. Well, I may not agree with him about Cassandra's degree of beauty, but I'm at least grateful that he communicates concisely and politely so far.
Still I think you've mislabeled this thread OP. I suspect it's not an explanation for why there isn't someone with exactly Isabela's facial structure that you want, but rather to complain that there isn't. You seem intelligent enough to be quite aware that it's because beauty is relative. They did in fact, make a character that fits general stands of "beauty" with proportional features, good skin, etc.
But that jawline...It may be the most well-discussed jawline in the history of video gaming characters. I wonder how fewer the complaints would be if Cassandra's jawline were slightly more narrow.
The other one is a Disney Princess...I don't think I need to elaborate this one...Surprised her romance arc did not come with a Disney song or a cutscene about how all men are evil misogynists like it did in Frozen and Maleficent...
Wait...I haven't seen Maleficent, but which song in Frozen talks about how all men are evil misogynists? I remember the 'we think we're in love even though we just met' song, and the one the snowman sings, and the one with the trolls trying to push Anna and Kristoff together, and the one with Anna trying to get Elsa to leave her room, and Let it Go, but I definitely don't remember a song about how all men are evil. I'm also pretty sure that Anna and Kristoff end up together at the end, and that the villains were villains because they were greedy and murdery, not because they were men. You know, kind of the like the Evil Queen in Snow White or Ursula in the Little Mermaid.
Likewise Josie is open to a relationship with a man (including Blackwall), so I'm not sure how exactly she's a man-hater.

The phrase? It doesn't bother me. It's the connotation of it used in relation to a complaint, that somehow her romance is more childish. I've watched it and it seemed more inspired by classical literature. I also don't think it sums up her romance at all. If anything, I think the phrase is being used to dismiss any and all mature themes that are in her romance arc because of elements that Disney popularized in the 20th century.
I also am familiar with her fans calling her that. Which is a little weird (weird is good,) but I'm not judging them. It's the people (usually those that start those posts by proclaiming that they are straight men) that call her that and then start going off on why she "isn't good enough" and that "straight men got the shaft" that I question.
I disagree with the complaint, because frankly I've seen too many folks state that and then start asking for more explicit sex scenes. The biggest complaint I heard about Josie's romance was that there was no sex scene.* The term "Disney Romance" usually follows after that complaint. So it's hard for me to take that complaint seriously. I've seen far too many posters claim that having a classical style duel and no sex scene made her a "Disney Romance."
I do not think that way about every person that puts Disney in connection to Josie's romance. Still, I've seen it enough to where I just can't take it seriously. I don't go out of my way to troll or harass folks though. If I disagree, I silently roll my eyes and move onto the next thread.
*I know that the second biggest complaint was that the romance seems to just kinda drop off after the duel. That does suck and should have been expanded upon.
Forget Isabella. I want my female qunari!
The current direction in artstyle has abandoned the cheesecake aesthetics that were prevalent in the comics, so I have abandoned that road, for now.
I only use Disney Princess because she reminds me of Jasmine lol
