Cassandra is unattractive all the way. By that I mean she is visually unattractive and her character is unattractive.

Why is she visually unattractive ? Short hair, that jaw, scars...the lot. Don't give me the "female warriors are supposed to look like that !" argument. They do not. Do female wrestlers like Gina Carano look like Cassandra ? No. Do female warriors like Aela or Mjoll or Frea or even Ves look like that ? You know, Ves still looks very attractive despite her short hair. Or perhaps we should look at comic book female warriors. Do the Valkyries or the Amazons look like she does ? Nope, they look far better. At least they could have made her muscular if they wanted to give off the whole hardened warrior feel but she looks just like every other female in the game. There is little to no coherence when it comes to Cassandra's looks. That and her only saving grace is her liking sex stories ? Give me a break. I know many women who like smutty literature and smutty entertainment. This might be new and interesting among women in say, 1950s but its 2015 now.

Why is her character unattractive ? Because it is almost exactly like how Leliana behaved in Origins. Everything is Maker this, Maker that, it's the Maker's will, Maker's plan...ugh. Bioware has always given us two straight male love interest with different outlook on things. We got two Andrastians in this game. In DAO we got one Andrastian and one Non-religious whereas in DA2 we got one Non-religious and one Dalish. Josephine might be a Disney Princess romance but at least she has sufficient intelligence capacity to not be hung up on the Maker and the Chantry all the time. The most she says about the Chantry is that it is familiar across kingdoms, a source of shared faith, good for negotiations and what have you which makes sense.

Putting aside for a moment that this is strictly your opinion, and not a matter of fact, didn't many players find Leliana's Origins persona attractive, despite the Maker this and Maker that stuff?

People complain about the romances every game. Fact is, everyone has different tastes and they can't please everyone. I distinctly remember the complaints about Isabela in DA2 because she was too, ahem, "loose".

In fact, she was the most played romance according to the wiki.

So, yeah.

People complained about Leliana as well. As I recall, they didn't like that she was too religious, and they found her watching the HOF sleeping creepy. As Evenstar said people complain about all of the romances.

Isabela wasn't straight. And second, what makes you think Dorian is hot? I hate that damn mustache. Cullen is hot. But he's straight (sadly).

It's all a matter of taste.

Okay, this isn't the first time that I see this comment. I don't think the Op ever implied that Isabela was straight. He just meant why ' there isn't an attractive girl like Isabela for straight male gamers among our two options. ' I'm not a native, but that seems obvious to me, I don't know.

Isabela wasn't straight.

For all intents and purposes, she was very much straight.

There are these wonderful things called opinions. Perhaps you've heard of them. What you typed is one. Don't try to go around pretending it's fact.

I love it how people spend ungodly amounts of time just looking for posts they can dig out the whole "Oh yeah, well you don't speak for everyone!" spiel. It's totally unnecessary.

If it was part of a BSN forum drinking game, it'd cause death by alcohol poisoning.

Weird how the in Origins there can be a threesome with a female Warden, Leliana, and a straight Isabela, is it not?

Weird how her portrayal in DA2 is completely straight-oriented unless Hawke is female and explicitly approaches her, isn't it?

Then weird how this bit of banter happens with Bethany even if you never flirt with her as a female Hawke.  You don't have to play a female Hawke to hear this:

Bethany: So you've... been with women. In bed?
Isabela: I know. Shocking, isn't it?
Isabela: You see, sweetness, men are only good for one thing. Women are good for six.
Bethany: Six? Which six?
Hawke: Isabela!
Isabela: (Laughs)

And this:

Bethany: I guess you've been with a lot of men.
Isabela: Men. Women. Elves. A dwarf in drag once, but I don't recommend that.
Bethany: Oh.
Isabela: Aw... you're blushing! Why? How many lovers have you had?
Bethany: I-I never—
Isabela: You're a virgin? Hawke, you've been holding out on the poor girl! Get her a night at the Blooming Rose. On me!
Bethany: That's, um, very generous.
Isabela: I'm a giver.

Isabela's portrayal throughout the game is bisexual, even outside of the romances.

Some other stuff is handled like this in DA2, though. Like how the Anders/Karl stuff is toned down for a Female Hawke compared to a Male Hawke.

Really? You know a lot of straight women who sleep with other women throughout their lives?

Everyone knows women are made from sand, so really, it doesn't matter what a female looks like.  You're really just attracted to a bunch of tiny grains of earth.

I'm starting to think maybe we didn't play the same game. I mean going by that logic... Merrill, was totally a lesbian, and Anders was 100% straight... We'll just ignore Karl... Since he never blatantly states they were lovers. Fenris must also be straight since he never talks about his past lovers.

But really, funny how regardless of Hawke's gender, Isabela is very much open about her bisexuality. Which, ya know is actually a real thing, go figure.

Still not as irritating as how many people spell Leliana's name incorrectly. Lelliana. Lelianna. Lilliana. Leelyanna. (I kid you not, I've actually seen the last one.)

You say harlot like it's a bad thing.

It is most definately a good thing, if you run a bordello. I would not dare to put her in my party willingly. The less character like her the better.

Auto-correct/spell check

It keeps telling me that I spell Morrigan wrong, so that's a good point.
