Let's be honest, the discussion has moved to a better one. ![]()
Even more so when you compare how human-like the female alien LIs look compared to how the male alien LIs look.
Well this happens with most games ^^; Female countparts of any species are usually more human-like and have female figure than male one fo that species. I guess there is some kind of rule that if character is female she should always have boobs, no matter how unhuman her species is ^^;

Just a short excursion. Sorry to have distracted you from the fetish rant.

You should see his idea of what the "real" Cassandra should look like. It's on the previous page.

Or caring, for that matter.
This is probably not the place to rehash this in detail, but in short: If you talk about general body shape - walking upright on two legs, sensory equipment at the top and near the brain etc.. - I'll agree with you that assuming it also exists somewhere else is not all that far-fetched. However, attraction triggers are very, very specific. Just consider how little it takes to move a human face into the Uncanny Valley. I maintain that the existence of a species like the asari or the quarians is silly unless you assume these species are rather closely related to humans, and with comparably recent separation.
Good points. I always thought Garrus and Mordin had some of the best designs for alien team members...similarities were there, but various differences as well (if we go with the assumption that most species in the universe need to exist in a relatively narrow band of ecosystems, similarities are bound to happen - kind of thinking of how Earth exists in the Goldilocks zone for our Solar System).
However, I think in Mass Effect they can get away with the similarities to an extent, as someone earlier mentioned how there was some evolutionary overseeing going on with the Protheans (to what extent they were hands off, or actively tinkering, I don't know). They may even have nudged the proto-species towards general resemblance to themselves (as the Protheans viewed themselves as rather high on the food chain...god complex perhaps?).
Given that the Asari can be either father or mother (to put human terms on it) in a relationship, I must admit I'd have been more intrigued if they'd had a more androgynous appearance. I get that part of their identity is that they're compromised of attractive members, and based on a conversation between some men (bachelor party) on...Ilium I think it was, they're apparently meant to be seen as similar to any species they encounter (okay kind of stretching here, but I thought it was an interesting concept if that was the case).

Welcome to the forums! Coffee?
Do you have any tea? Coffee gives me a headache
Hey OP, us straight men can't have a romance option like Isabela. Why, you probably aren't asking, well simply put we've already got two of them and their names are Cassandra Pentaghast and Lady Josephine Montilyet.
...Oh wait you're that guy who spammed the forum on how mannish you found Cassandra and Josephine, so nevermind then.

Spectre benefits.

The thread has been all over the place, but a lot of it has been because of the redundancy of the topic. From that poster alone, most of us posting in response have seen several threads about this topic starting from this weekend. It isn't just that the topic in-and-of itself is pretty shallow, but many of us are losing track at the number of times we've seen rant this since October alone. We do talk about the topic, but we also try to have some fun with it. Sidetracks are bound to happen, as well as some hijacking. ![]()
One night, someone started a thread complaining that there was too many female NPCs. It was called "Females Everywhere?!?" You know that the OP wanted this to be taken as a serious issue in Inquisition. It...backfired.
By page three, it was filled with fans of Loghain gushing how hot he was. Oddly enough, it hit about 37 pages before lock. We had recipes, discussions about Dr. Who, comparing fish to companions (that's an old joke,) and so many tangents you wouldn't believe it. I was there for a lot of it and I couldn't believe it. It literally came down to several non-DA related posts and gifs questioning when the lock was going to hit before it was finally closed.
You got it.

What?! And i missed it? Oh I am sad now.
How is that an answer at all?Well, personally I'm religious so there is my answer to that question.

Oh, that was fun. And crazy. I thought by the time the 4th recipe was posted, it would be locked. 20 pages later...
Edit: Then there was the poster asking if "the females" played Dragon Age games. Started asking for pics too.
You got it.

I am curies why must people like you feel obligated post Cersei gif and other nonsense until it's locked, just because it's unpopular opinion you must bash OP. I know it's hard to ignore, but not everyone share same opinions especially on character design, and this topic not some stupid like "help my staff have boobs"
What?! And i missed it? Oh I am sad now.
It was fun. I stayed on topic though. Meaning filling the thread with females. Cause females everywhere ![]()

Oh I was there for the thread I posted a few recipes myself but I'm sad I missed the fish jokes, horribly terribly sad that I missed that. Were there puns? No no don't tell me I don't think I could take it.
He thought Josie was mannish too?
Really? I think a Hawke quote is appropriate here: "Care to explain your particular brand of crazy?"
How is that an answer at all?
Even with a divine origin, there's no requirement that those species resemble each other.
I never said there was a requirement, just that it is an explanation and thus an answer.
Hey guys, for the sake of peace, may we please keep the ME debates in the ME forums? It's getting into RL religion and I'd rather not see a couple of posters I respect bicker over that in the DA forums. ![]()

Don't worry. I didn't plan on taking it any farther.
