*Considers the thread title and Cassandra as a romance option*

*considers self:*

*straight: check*

*male: check*

*Observation: Can't romance Cassandra because of incompatible gender*

*Conclusion: something is wrong here.*

*Probable cause: serious fiction/reality overlap adversely affecting sanity*

*Recommended action: ignore*

That could possibly be the most intelligent post I've seen in this thread so far..

Had the question been: "Why can't we have a character like Isabella?", then I would agree with you.

That was not the case, the question was: "Why can't we have a character like Isabella for straight male gamers?" Had you read the OP you would see that I want a romance option in Inquisition who is as attractive and beautiful as Isabella.  The love interests personality and backstory can be completely fresh and new.

In every dragon age game except Inquisition there has always been a highly attractive romance option for straight male gamers.

There are some of you who judge Cassandra's physical beauty by her personality. I admire what you're doing, but that doesn't address Cassandra's masculine facial proportions.  The 3D modelerer is in error and I'm trying to point that out.

Bioware featured a female voice actress for a male character in the game.  Bioware is experimentating with purposely confusing sexual orientation. The problem is straight males like me are not impressed by such decisions.  Bioware thought it would be funny/creative to make Cassandra look like a man, but I'm not laughing.  I know parents who won't let their kids play Inquisition, because of the "unique" content.  I'm just sharing this information so EA can find out why the game isn't selling as good as Skyrim for example.

My opinion is simple:

* Add as many gay/lesbian characters as you want to the game, but make sure there is at least one female romance option who is highly attractive and beautiful for straight male gamers.

The other 99% npc's can be as gay as you want.  I want the LGBT to be happy, but I want to enjoy the game as well.

I REPEAT, I want the LGBT to be happy, you deserve to enjoy Dragon Age the same as anyone else.  I would be fine with having 99.9% of the population of Thedas be gay as long as there is ONE FEMALE LOVE INTEREST WHO LOOKS LIKE A FEMALE, GOD DAMN IT.

DRAGON AGE INQUISITION FROM A FATHERS PERSPECTIVE

A dad looks at Dragon Age Inquisition and decides if he wants his teenage son to play the game or not.  Dad finds out that there are female romance options in the game for straight males.  Unfortunately he finds out that the only two female love interests look rather mannish and fugly.  This leaves the gay options. What conclusion will this father draw for the mental state of his son?

I know quite a few parents who did not let their kids play Inquisition, yes they were conservative. I personally don't agree with them, but it does make a small bit of sense. They want what they feel is best for their kids.  These parents will be politically correct in public, but in their own private homes their view changes drastically.

I'm hoping to share this information with you guys so we can have a serious, mature discussion.

EA/Bioware don't realize how important it is to feature a highly attractive female love interest in game if the game allows romance.

There are their names are Cassandra and/or Josephine

When you have beautiful NPC's like Leliana & Morrigan in game and compare them to Cassandra & Josephine, you can't help but ask, why can't Cassandra & Josephine be as beautiful as they are?  A question I'm sure many straight male gamers have asked.

Parent's shouldn't let their kids to play DAI cause Mature and 18+ markings in the boxes. It's illegal to even sell these adult games to kids so why parent's would let their kids to play them?

I think the father should be ashamed of himself and what example he sets for his kid. He seems very shallow and quite sexist even, thinking that all women look same and be attractive. Grown-up man should have some respect towards women.

Bioware seems to realise this importance by putting three highly attractive love intrest in game: Cass, Josie and Sera :)

This is a very politically correct answer.  You do realize that Skyrim has a Mature rating and is played by many, many, many teenagers under the age of 18?

I commend you on condemning the father, but that isn't going to change anything. Are you going to adhere to the reality of things or continue to be politically correct?

Panda, compare Cass, Josie and Sera to Morrigan, Leliana & Isabella purely on a physical level.

So ultimately your gripe is that Cassandra isn't feminine/attractive enough for your taste? Is that about right?

Just hold out hope for mods. That's many people end up having to do in cases like these. I hate Dorian's mustache... and someone made a mod to remove it! I'll be even happier when Dorian's whole face get's a makeover :) Perhaps someone will give Cass a makeover more to your liking?

I'm desperately trying to do this.  Unfortunately the facial OBJ can't be imported back into the game properly at this point using DAITools. If the game was moddable, I wouldn't even be on this forum.

So when there are no attractive females around, your only resort is to have intimate relationships with men instead...

...that probably means you are gay...

If the only two people on the planet were me and Dorian, I'd probably end up doing it with Dorian.  What other choice is there?

I'd seriously consider backing off, Brevnau. You're not doing yourself any favors. I understand you'd like a more conventionally attractive LI, and that's legitimate, even though I don't think Bioware is required to follow up on that preference. However, you lose all sympathy you might've gained from others whose preferences were also not met when you tried to present your preference as being objective, and when you started making disparaging comments about Josephine and Cassandra, who are well-liked by many, both for their physical features as well as their personalities.

Personally, as a member of the group you profess to speak for, I actually didn't find Isabela all that attractive physically, and if only that were considered, I'd choose Josephine over her.

I highly doubt however, that DAI's sales are affected in any significant way by how "hot" the female LI's are or aren't though.

I do consider them just as beautiful, as well as other straight males

What does the game rating have to do with political correctness?  It's rated M for Mature, period.  Don't make this "about the children" because this isn't a children's game.  As an adult playing an adult game, I don't need it sanitized "for the children."  They have their games, I have mine.

I don't even know what this means.  I don't think I want to.  For the sake of the son, here's hoping he's not a shallow, unthinking ****** like his father.

Panda, compare Cass, Josie and Sera to Morrigan, Leliana & Isabella purely on a physical level.

Since I was asked to do this:

1. Cassandra

MERRILL

2. Morrigan

3. Isabela

4 Leliana

5. Sera

6. Josephine

Why can't I include Merrill though ? I want to include her. Here she goes :)

Cassandra is like in god tier for me in look-wise. She's everything I want to be as woman. Merrill second cause she's perfectly cute. Morrigan has some sharp featues I like. Isabela is great. Leliana is bit plain look-wise and Sera and Josie doesn't do it for me though they aren't ugly either.

People have already done in this many pages before though and if you look at what they chose, you'd realise that all people have different preferences.

There are plenty of straight males who find Josephine and Cassandra attractive. I'm a straight female and get more options, but I don't find any of my options attractive. Am I terribly upset about it and go post a thread on the forums every other day? No.

I've also lived through many, many years of having NO romance options in games. So I'm just thankful to have options at all.

In my case it'd be....

#2. Leliana
#3. Merrill
#4. Isabella
#5. Sera
#6. Cassandra

... I tend to regard Josephine as the only ostensibly romanceable option for a het-male Inquisitor (or a non-het female inquisitor) ... BUT I couldn't get her romance to trigger... which is why I regrettably reverted to Blackwall.

Cassandra on the other hand. She looked fine in DA2 ... and kinda atrocious in DAI.
By my reckoning at least.

Needs glasses though. Glasses would improve all of them 1000%.

Oh right. Forgot Morrigan.
Her face is fine except for lack of glasses, but her utterly slvt-tastic costume combined with a blatant lack of anything under it..... just seems demented. i.e. Morrigan has both awesome traits and awful traits.
