Why can't we have a romance option like Isabella for straight male gamers?

Between this thread, the "boobies on top tier items" thread, the thread where Cass is supposedly a rapist, and the recently locked "gay toggle" thread..

Cass is a what!? Bender's "Kill all humans" sentiment makes more and more sense everyday.

Yep.
I wish I could say I was kidding.
But apparently.. if you gain Cass's approval, and do her romance quest... end up naked with her, it's rape.

During her romance, there was no "Do you want to have sex? 1. Yes 2. No" choice, so Cassandra raped her Inquisitor.

You know, I'm beginning think the developers should just give players like Brevnau and Lord Surinen what they want.
I'm much more comforted by the idea of these fellows remaining in their homes playing video games than the idea of them being anywhere in public.
Nah, just a DLC. They can have their own little bizarre story about fully customizible "highly attractive" elf women that love to be dominated. One of them must be straight, and willing to breed of course.

Sorry, I don't ordinarily like. I'm in between computers and just use my smartphone. Switching back and forth between the mobile and full version of the site on my phone just to like a post is a bit of a pain.

Tali was a non-human. It made no sense at all to give her features specifically to look attractive to human males in the first place. These thing are about the most species-specific in biology, not even the closest relative species feature cross-species attraction, and there is a compelling reason why. This is complete nonsense.
People don't care, I get that, but things like this are why I can't take ME seriously as SF.
?But humans being attracted to aliens has been a long running trope in Sci-Fi since at-least the 50s.

None of those women appeal to me even slightly..

Please keep in mind that romance options presented in Dragon Age Origins & Dragon Age 2 were perfect for me. Inquisition is the first Dragon Age game where I had problems with the LI's.
For Dragon Age 4 it would be vital to have one female LI that is extremely attractive to the highest degree, the very definition of physical beauty and perfection, then make her romance-able by male or female. Then make the game moddable so people can fine tune her appearance in regards to skin tone, hair, etc. There is a reason Skyrim sold 20 million copies, Bioware still hasn't learned from their competition sadly. We need to be able to mod DAI. I repeat, we need to be able to mod DAI. I wouldn't even be on this forum if we could mod the game properly. I'd have already made Cassandra, Josephine & Sera into gorgeous super models and I'd be loving every second of Inquisition instead of wasting time on this forum.
Didn't Skyrim sell the most copies on the Xbox?

You know, I'd rather see threads requesting a specific type. Er, without getting creepy. For example, I wouldn't mind seeing a post that says something like:
"I'm sick of brunette humans. I liked Leliana's look, but I prefer ___ race of blondes that have a little makeup. I like women with a little more curves, like Isabela (I think it's the curves and not the breasts some men miss imho) Someone with ___ leanings towards the Chantry, and maybe ___ class for the next game. It would be nice to see something different." Try not to make it about the potential LIs sexual orientation (so long as they're into a male character, it is an overall moot point) but the look as well as the personality of what you'd like to see in a BioWare game.
That would be welcome and I'd be happy to participate in such a thread. It sounds much classier versus saying "Oh, you gave me LIs that look like men. It's not for me, so they truly screwed over all straight male gamers everywhere." One leads to a constructive conversation, the other does not. I know that BioWare can't please everyone. However, I think it's fine to ask if you're not going nuts about it. Asking for patches, DLCs and toolkits for the sake of a new romance is a waste of time. There's always the future though, so it's a great time to ask for the next game.
The reason why I post in so many threads requesting archetypes and different representation is because I've gotten very weary of the same old thing. Mostly straight white guys with stubble in 30s; women of only a certain build and look...the list goes on. I feel that in Dragon Age, there has been a trend of women that are brunettes (save Leliana,) and I think it's time for something different. Not more options for straight men (or for anyone, except for the ace community. I think there is plenty for the most part,) but different ones. I enjoy playing straight male characters too. I had a lot of fun with the Merrill romance because of it.
So as a role player and a customer, I'm happy to contribute to threads requesting more variety. From what I've witnessed on the forums, it's a lot more constructive and productive to leave the negative comments like, "She looks like a man" out of the thread, and instead state things like, "This is what I'd prefer to see." I use the term, "not to my taste," because that's the gist of it. Everyone has different tastes, and some just aren't going to appeal to you.

That doesn't make it less insane, a handful of exceptions notwithstanding that make it a theme and handle it well. It's usually played for the thrill, or for laughs, which means we aren't supposed to take it seriously. That's ok, SF doesn't have to be serious. However, if this appears in more serious SF, it's often as an allegory about racism, which completely overlooks the fact that difference races and different species are not the same thing. BTW, misapplied allegory has been a persistent flaw in Bioware's recent games. Just think of Cullen and his lyrium addiction story, which completely ignores that taking lyrium, unlike taking the alluded-to real-world substances, gives its user real and significant special abilities.?But humans being attracted to aliens has been a long running trope in Sci-Fi since at-least the 50s.

I am with you!
Though some of my posts requesting cougars or bears (which are not to be interpreted as requests for beastiality) are written in a sort of tongue-and-cheek way, they are actually serious.
People over 40 are also romantic and sexually active, and relationships between two older people, or one older and one younger person, can be written in a tasteful way. Things like that, or li's that are plus size (Sam Tarly
), would be truly breaking new ground.

See my above post. If that's what you want, awesome! Just state that. You don't have to stress the point that you think Cassandra looks like a man. You should stop that and instead say, "I want curvy women with great smiles and high brows. I don't prefer short hair, and I like hair that's longer that hugs the face."
Boom, done. It's a great and productive way to start a conversation about variety for LIs. It's a lot less aggressive than the constant merry-go-round.
"She looks like a man."
"No she doesn't."
"Yes she does and she's ugly!"
"Here's women that looks like her IRL."
"Nope, still unattractive."
"You're blind!"
"You have no taste!"
Yeah, this has gotten stale. State what you like, and leave the bullshit at the door. Life's too short for that much negativity over a video game. We need to take a step back and try to have some fun with this.
this is the best example .. and yes i know exactly what you have in your mind....so cassie looks like a man hmm??

Eh, just making a point. Nothing more, nothing less. I thought he was into blondes. <shrug> She does have a jawline much like Cass, but I'll admit she's got too much of the slenderness of a professional model for me.

No, she's a transgender woman. Identifies as such. I put it up for one reason: She has a strong jawline, and I was wondering if there was going to be a comment on it. There wasn't. It just proves that when it comes to real life, men don't notice a woman's jawline.
One of my all time favorite Fantasy Dwarven Female.
In that case, make or bump a thread requesting a dwarf romance. No muss, no fun and it beats the "she looks ugly" comments.
