Why can't we have a romance option like Isabella for straight male gamers?

I don't want marriage in Dragon Age Inquisition.

I didn't explain it correctly.

In Skyrim there is no gay only or lesbian only NPC.  It just doesn't matter. Bethesda didn't make a big deal out of it.  You can romance any eligible NPC in a same sex relationship if you want.  Bioware made this huge deal out of it and stirred up controversey that didn't need to be there.

Here is another iteration based upon your suggestions.

I think the adjusted is what I'm going to go for when DAITools fixes facial imports.

I'll also try to make her hair more feminine, but still keep it short.

Maybe he doesn't have the capacity to feel embarrassment.

I have the emotional range of a rock.

Cassandra is smiling, because soon she will have female facial proportions.

Just for fun..

Honestly it just looks like to me that you just took her face and shrunk it. Not seeing much of a difference other than her head is smaller and the face is slightly shorter.

There's a couple of months to a year from the beginning of DAI to the end. No reasonable people get married in such a quick span of time.

That's awfully insulting.

To be fair, no Bioware protagonist (and accompanying NPC romance) lives a typically domestic life. Shepard is a career soldier and a cyborg. The Warden is the Warden. Hawke is either one of the most loved or hated people in Thedas (depending on who you ask), and the Inquisitor leads an army of the righteous that rivals kingdoms in size and strength.

True...though since none of them are married I'm not sure I see a connection. I agree that the overall lives of these characters would not become dull thanks to a domestic relationship. I however, would personally find playing out an in-game romance as more domestic a little dull, if that makes sense?

Because just like how there are players who want to have the option to play the sexuality they want, I would like to have the option to at least play the lifestyle I want since let's face it I know I'll never be able to play the sexuality I want.

Fair enough, I can understand that. :) I think since my desires for my in-game experience are so different from my desires for my real life, the idea of wanting the two to mesh very closely can confuse me.

There's no controversy. It's just a handful of entitled whiners griping about their character not being able to bang whoever they want.

Also some characters having preferences (gender or otherwise) more closely mirrors the real world.

Why Brevnau, you've never responded to me before...and of course it's a response to one of the least serious things I've said on the entire thread. That's a little disappointing.

It seemed to me that the marriage discussion happened on it's own. I don't think anyone has mistaken your wishes.

You want Cassandra's jawline made smaller by an inch or so,

and you have provided many pictures (and also many threads) to demonstrate your wishes.

When I romanced Isabella in Dragon Age 2, my Hawke was always female. If I had a male Hawke he'd look like an idiot when she runs off with the Tome of Koslun, or a chump for defending her freedom from the Arishok. That make him no better than Carver.

My Isabela came back with the book, and i was romancing Merrill so i'm not sure where the chump part fits in, i did sleep with Isabela early on in the story and then met Merrill half way through the game so not sure if that changed anything.. I didn't realize i was suppose to do the meet merrill quest early on lol..

Considering you want characters like Isabela, I'm not surprised. That isn't her style, so it wouldn't be the style of characters like her either.

Well, who says that their lives will be domestic after they get married? There are a few couplings I can see not living that life but something more adventurous, like for example Shepard and Garrus going around the galaxy fighting injustice. Then there are others where it makes sense, like Shepard and Tali living on Rannoch in that house she wants to build.

Thanks. And yeah, I get that. Some people like to play as much of themselves as possible, some as little of themselves as possible, and everything in between.

At this point I'm not even convinced you're trolling as much as I am you're being an idiot with statements like this. Bioware isn't making a big deal out of anything. People who are mad Cassandra is straight or that Dorian is gay are.

You seem to like to tell people what to do, you'd probably get less hostility if you were more polite with people, as it is now i just ignore everything you say..

I wish someone would air brush some hair onto Cassandra, i'd love to see how much better she'd look with long hair, i bet she would look amazing, the little boy look gets tiresome..

This has nothing to do with the topic, but I confess I have a hard time getting through Lady Artifice's posts without giggling like a schoolboy. Not that she's not an eloquent speaker or that she doesn't make good points, but because I keep reading her name as "Lady Orifice." I realize that's my problem, and I can allow for the possibility that I am not well, but I had to get that out of my system.

Apologies to Lady Artifice. Carry on.

I love how you selectively choose to respond to "go away" and not "all women are bisexual", as though "go away" is more offensive.

Just like anyone else, Cassandra could look more feminine if you changed her hair, clothes and added make-up (being more or less feminine of course does not automatically translate to greater beauty, that's a subjective matter). The thing is, her appearance reflects her personality, she isn't currently interested in playing barbie and putting in an effort to look feminine for someone. Not everyone in the world (game world or real world) is going to make an effort to look a certain way just for you, I don't see the problem with that.

That bit about bisexuality sounds like someone's belief.Foolish, yes, I can give you that. Offensive or not, depends on the intentions.

On the other hand, telling OP to bail out of his own thread seems kinda cheesy. If one does not enjoy the party he should leave himself instead of kicking out the host.

You know that Beatles song ? They sang it like:

"I don't want to spoil the party so I'll go

I would hate my disappointment to show
There's nothing for me here so I will disappear"

At some point she even makes a comment that distinguishes her from the more "girly" types.

Romance is not the sole province of dithering ladies in frilly dresses.

Agreed. I do not give Bioware much slack but this crap about fawning over romances, over sexualities and now over marriage is entirely due to the fanbase.

I do not want marriage in games either. Marriage in real life is dying institution, it is death throes...Why would I want my playable character to be saddled with some woman who nags 24/7, cheats on my playable character with another guy, divorces my playable character, gets custody of kids, the house, half his income and child support ?...*Disgusted noise* + Pukes...

Personally, I don't give a rats arse about how Cassandra looks...Its her "Oh Maker this, Maker that, this is Maker's plan, that is Maker's way..." that is the part that annoys me the most...She acts like how typical religious girls do in real life...All holy and thou and God this and Prophet that...and then spend their time secretly reading smut...There is no crazy like repressed religious crazy...

Rather than feminize Cassandra who has a ridiculous personality to begin with, I would rather have a straight male love interest who is not a freaking Andrastian. In DAO we had Morrigan for that. In DA2, we have Isabela and Merrill. In DAI, both love interests are Andrastians.

Same logic applies...not everyone in the world (game world or real world) is going to make an effort to act and think a certain way just for you, I don't see a problem with that.
