Why can't we have a romance option like Isabella for straight male gamers?

I've given enough reasons why i consider her manly, you just choose to either ignore them, disregard them or i guess over look them..

I do agree (to me) she looks very transgender, as others have said, now i don't know if that is by design, poor engine or just coincidence.

No, you actually haven't, and you're still not giving reasons.

"Why does she look manly?"

"She just does" is not a reason.

One also cannot "look" transgender. You may as well be saying that someone "looks" like a Republican, or that someone "looks" like they're gay.

Before I begin, I just want to say there is nothing wrong with being transgender,  but when a man puts on make up and takes hormones, he, I mean she, must still deal with the bone issue. Of course with plastic surgery, this can be remedied. By bone issue I mean transgender still has male bones under the facial skin that are visible.

Cassandra looks transgender in the way where she ALMOST looks female, she just needs minor work.  That is what my adjusted picture does, it gives her a complete set of female facial proportions.

I took the data from multiple artists and normalized the information, compared it to Cass's face and made subtle changes.

The only thing I need to do is make her look older. I can do that by taking her face into Zbrush, sub dividing then adding wrinkles and a slight droop near the jawline, aka the upside triangle.  I'd have to merge the normal maps I think which is kind of dirty.  Anyways.

Now, REGARDING TWISTER SISTER

That first attempt at making Cass blonde was okay, but you guys were right, looked like twisted sister. I made a mistake. Unlike Bioware, I can admit that I made a mistake lol.

I understand.

I was trying to prove she looks more woman like with long hair than with her short boy cut, i understand this offends people, and i totally get the aesthetics behind her hair, i just noticed a lot of "Cassandra looks like a man" "Cassandra is ugly" "give us back Isabela" etc and i feel Cass and josie's hair are a big factor in my opinion..

That upsets people i guess, but for me i'd mod her... sorry.

You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day.

Could be the face maybe... nahh never couldn't be the manly face at all right?

I'm quit happy to disrespect David Gaider's mind, he in my opinion is a big blame for this thread and this game..

Actually I was aiming for the "these 80's rock hairstyles just don't really suit her" approach.

I have, many, many, many times.

You don't realize how annoying it is to have Cassandra & josephine as the only two romance options, when Morrigan & Leliana face models look beautiful, stunning, gorgeous.

Of course I don't, because Cassandra and Josephine are beautiful

There are no male bones, just human bones. Every male and female specific part of the body is made of tissue and muscle, not bone.

I don't get how "one cannot look transgender" just flies over your head. Being transgender isn't a physical condition that affects your appearance. Anyone who thinks it is is an idiot.

"Data", right. Google searches count as data now. Also "subtle", because receding her jawline an entire inch and half and shrinking her head is subtle. You're a troll.

I, and others, have asked how her face is manly at least 40 times so far, and not once have we received an answer.

And you won't ever receive an adequate answer because its a subjective opinion.

If you do not believe that Cass looks "manly" then you never will no matter what anybody tells you.  By the same token, if somebody else does believe that Cass looks "manly" there is nothing you can say that will change their opinion.

There is and has been a lot of science done regarding what it is that makes someone's face physically beautiful, the Golden Ratio, Phi, blah blah.  While it may be possible to generalize it through statistics (i.e. 51% of men surveyed agreed a certain woman's face is beautiful), it means nothing really.

As for charts, these do exist, one such is the RF Mask that is supposed to be a representation of the characteristics that most of us apparently find beautiful http://www.beautyanalysis.com/ or a short form http://www.goldennumber.net/beauty/ .  All fine and dandy if you happen you to be one that finds these proportions beautiful, if not then what's it matter?

As for the OP's quest to create the "unmanly" Cass, to each his own I guess. The only suggestion I have for the OP is go play Skyrim where you can make any NPC look exactly how you want with enough hair mods to be busy for a good long time. or wait until the modders find a way to change meshes in DAI after which I am sure one of the first to go out the door will be updated main characters.

You deserve more than one like for this, so here's another figurative one.

No. I genuinely like his modifications. And everyone else is going to be against it no matter how good Brevnau is going to mod her face. They are against just for the sake of principle -  "character disrespect" "changing someone's beloved character" ...

and couple of more BS reasons not even worth paying attention AFAIAC.

This is exactly my opinion too, even if we made her to the most professional and Bioware standards in game design it would still be hated on and negative, people cannot seem to be unbiased here, well unless of course Bioware actually changed her themselves then it would be all

Hit us again Bioware..

If you bothered to read back earlier on, yes i did give reasons, her jaw, nose, hair all portray a male look to me, you disagree fine, it doesn't change my mind anymore than what i say does change yours.

Can't we all just get along, agree to disagree, stop trying to tear each other into pieces and just agree that we need branching archetypes guys? Please? It's making me cry. ;(

Literally the one response I've been given (Cassandra's sharp jawline) is a real reason (and that wasn't in this thread). Just saying "she looks like a man" and leaving it at that is avoiding the issue altogether, yet he insists on saying it at every given opportunity.

I fail to understand how people are actually defending this. Are they not reading any prior pages of the thread?

I completely agree with the OP.

I was disappointed Leliana wasn't romanceable...and then Sera wasn't either. My first impression of Cassandra was that she was probably a butch lesbian... I didn't peg her for a straight male romance option. Maybe it's mostly the greasy short hair? Short hair on a woman is attractive when everything else about the woman is already very feminine but it's not the case with Cassandra.

Inquisition Cassandra reminds me of:

Brienneoftarth.jpg

Cassandra from dawn of the seeker looked feminine though...

I actually really liked that about Cassandra though.  Lesbian/bisexual romances are nearly always depicted in media as butch or lipstick lesbian.  Straight chicks are cookie cutter stereotypical beauty queens with some BS problem that they can't resolve on their own so they need a hero to help them.  Cassandra's beauty is on the inside, and she doesn't need sh!t from the Inquisitor. She could take care of her personal quests on her own if she had to.

My bf's a straight male, and he infinitely preferred Cassandra over Liara/Ashley/Morrigan/Leliana. (He actually killed Ash on Virmire, and said he had zero interest in Morrigan and Leliana.)

I'm not sure what an "utterly conventional female" is, but my suspicion is that she would look more like this:

alcohol-stress.jpg

Because life is stressful.

I just mean conventional by the standards of storytelling, like, the heroine of legend sort of deal. Not necessarily every day conventional.
