I apologies if there's a similar topic, but I'm curious of which tattoo your Dalish has.

Spoiler

After playing a Qunari, I decided to canon as a Dalish mage. The tattoo I chose, was the first Mythal after Dirthmen. How about everyone else? If you're curious about "The Creators" http://dragonage.wik.../Elven_pantheon. Kinda sad S... *cough* Sorry, Fen'Harel doesn't have a tattoo. Maybe at one point he did. Wish we found out more about him. DLC maybe? Anyways, please do share your tattoos and reasons if any. My reason, after playing the story as a Qunari, and finding out who Mythal was.

My canon quizzie has June's alternate. My second elf quizzie has Sylaise's.

That's a nice idea.

My Keeper's First has Mythal. I figured it was fitting, what with protecting the clan (from the dread wolf, hrhr) and with Mythal being a motherly figure. And of course

Spoiler

For my warrior I went with Sylaise. Mostly because it looked handsome. Maybe his mother was a healer or maybe he likes knitting or something. Maybe both.

And my archer has June. She's an artificer, so that fits rather nicely. And she's head over heels in love with Blackwall's wooden toy griffon

My one was of Elgar'nan. I didn't know which ones represented which god when I chose otherwise I probably would have gone with Dirthamen. It worked out though especially since the Keeper Robes my elf wears are of the High Keeper of Elgar'nan.

Mine has the Ghilan'nain.

I was originally going to go with Ghilan'nain, her pantheon was touching. However, I chose Mythal.

Btw does anyone know why my picture changes. One moment it's blown up so much, you could see sweat rolling down their faces, but now it's small...

Falon'Din:

And just because I liked the way it looked (the meaning of the tattoos hadn't been released at the time). I was surprised to discover that it is, apparently, a less popular one.

I was going for Mythal at first because that's the one I like the best and because of the symbolism of it all, but June just looked better on her:

All you elves do realize what the vallaslin represents right? Talk to Solas, he will set you straight.

My mage Lavellan has Dirthamen tattooes, I thought it was quiet fitting for the First and keeper-to-be to worship a god of secrets and knowledge. And in the end (if you know what I mean) she'll keep them because reasons.

UPD. Here's finally her picture

My first ever Lavellan and now my canon Inquisitor both have Andruil vallaslin. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for mages to have Andruil's vallaslin. I guess they both really admire the Huntress? Indeed, when I made my canon Inquisitor, I wanted to give him Falon'din's markings but there was no consensus on which one that was at the time so I just picked the one I liked the look of most.

Sylaise.  And pronounced, deeply dark against his face.  My elven warrior felt driven to prove himself devoted to the nurturing and protection of the clan, so he offered that much respect to the Hearthkeeper god.  He also makes it a point to sing to Sylaise whenever the group builds a fire at any camp or resting point, picks endless herbs as they journey through the forests and fields, and basically misses his clan and family with incredible fervor.

Me, I just liked the way the coloring swept in and around his eyes, making them seem even darker against his face.  And that little heart-shaped marking on his chin is an endless temptation to Dorian, too.

I actually re-started my canon Lavellan (lost 20+ hours :( ) because I couldn't think of a good reason for her to have the Ghilan'nain vallaslin (I'd made her before I knew which deities they represented).

I instead gave her Mythal's (full), which i think suits her personality and status as First best.

Yeah, and that's why I never used any after the first playthrough. Though my inky never romances Solas. I saw it from youtube, instead.  :)

Meh, to me it doesn't matter what they used to represent in the time of Arlathan. That time is long gone now, and the Dalish use their markings to venerate their gods. Meaning can change over time. I'm more angry at Solas for being an elitist ****** who doesn't feel like modern day elves are worth his time, let alone humans or any other race. The Dalish may have gotten a lot wrong, but Solas can't let go of a world that no longer exists. And let's not forget he is basically responsible for almost destroying the world by

, and apparently he wants to return the world to the way it was before the Veil existed, never mind how that would probably kill a lot of people, but Solas and Abelas don't care because modern day elves aren't their people. >_> What pricks. Okay, sorry, I kinda got off on a tangent there.  :P

Well like LostInReverie said, symbol meanings can change. Look at the Nazi Swastika, it originally was a Hindu version of the hippie's peace sign. So, just because something was good/bad, doesn't mean it can't be used as something bad/good. My elf's more prone to look ahead, than look back, like the Dalish hunter in the Exalted Plains said, "It perhaps best to... forgive."

Back when we didn't know the meaning of the tattoos I gave my Lavellan the Sylaise one, since I liked how it looked. But it kinda fits her, Sylaise is supposed to be Andruil's sister, but unlike her she prefers to stay home instead of hunting.
My Lavellan's a mage, but her magic talent showed up late, so she was trained as a hunter, but she was a terrible archer and she always felt like she didn't belong.

None. I don't think I'd be able to get a job if I had my face tattooed.
