I can't get over how much that back piece (the one over the shoulder blades) looks like the Mjolnir armor the Spartans wear in Halo. It works for Halo. Doesn't fit with Mass Effect aesthetic at all imo.

Same here.

It feels too "cluttered" to me. One of the biggest things that struck me when I first played ME 1 was how sleek and streamlined everything was. The ships, the armor, the weapons they had very little hard edges; everything was smooth and had a curved edge to it.

Yup, loved how smooth everything was in the original. These concept pics are more "blocky", even mechanical looking.

I like the visor. It can retract or become transparent during cutscenes to show player's face. I also quite enjoy the leather-like material. Makes the armor look more comfy. I'm not a fan of extra bulkiness though. Didn't like it in ME1 either.

I loved the Kassa Fabrication Collosus Heavy armour in ME1. It looked so Renegade. :P  Seriously though I miss heavy armour in general since ME1. ME3 tried but that N7 heavy armour was just plain wierd in cinematics. Though I have to admit the N7 Valkyrie was an amazing gun, especialy after I equiped a scope and ammo upgrade to it.

ME1's armos were still in ME2 and ME3. But they generally were used by enemies or general npcs. For Shepard and squadmates Bioware made the right decision to give them something with more identity.

ME1 aesthetic > sexualized sequels.

I agree.

It would be refreshing to see MENext go back to the aesthetic style of me1. With those pics, I see no evidence of it happening. :(

ME1, ME2, which one do you prefer?

Why does armor plating need a bra?

Well if you look closely Shepard's armour in ME2&3 looks to be the Onyx Medium that you can get in ME1(to me anyway).

I definitely prefer the armor options for Shepard in the sequels,  can customize specific things like chest pieces, grieves, pauldrens, equip different types of visors, helmets etc..  Can also do what you want with the colors and the patterns.  In ME 1 you had three base types of armors, light, medium, heavy.  Other than a stat change and a change of colors the Phoenix stuff looks just like the Colossus stuff .  Now I am not saying the ME 1 armors didn't look good (I was impartial to the Scorpion line myself, looked good and was good for early to mid game) but they lacked variety.

Now alot is said about how Miranda looks and it is mostly true but if you can get the alternative appearence pack armor for her it actually looks pretty good and looks like something that can be warn in battle.

Miranda did look better in her alternative appearance armor, I agree.

I had to pay extra for that more modest look.  :(

I agree, but wouldn't it have been easy to put the old armours in piece by piece? Especialy since NPC's had em so they were already in the game.

ME1 art style was pretty cheesy with 80's Sci-Fi TV show theme. I'm glad they abandoned it for more... advanced realistic look? I don't know how can I call it.

Alot of things like the Normandy and environments got more realistic while powers and characters were changed to be less realistic.

Shepard is one thing. Obviously we should be able to customize him. As far as our squadmates go, I prefer armor and spacesuits over pajamas and skintight jumpsuits. I can't take half the ME2 squad seriously based on appearance alone.

Give me that campy 70's/80's sci fi feel over the comic book approach of the sequels, any day.

Fair point,  I would have liked it in ME 3 that while she is in her default outfit when she is on the citadel in non combat situations but when she goes to sanctuary if she would have suited up in the armor she gets in the alternate appearence pack.  Would have made more sense.  Her default gear should have been her casual look and her alternate appearence armor should have been armor she wore on missions.

Well to be fair I think ME 3 armored up squadmates more so than ME 2 did.  Even Liara gets some solid armor which if I am not mistaken you have a pic of in your own avatar.

^This

And there were quite a few options for almost every character.

Of course, something suitable for EDI was again a DLC :D

True, but I would argue that despite the shape and figure her mobile platform was given putting armor on her is kind of redundant since the material used to construct her mobile platform is her armor.

Agreed. I use the default one nowadays, the DLC outfit looks "unfinished" to me. Plus those headphones and animated visor...

Yeah. It did. And I literally only use those armors in ME3. The one in my profile pic as well as the Alliance jumpsuit, are what I use on Liara. I tend to use Tali's 2nd or 3rd costume. I only use the dark blue combat armor on Ash.

They could have made equipping some of the old armors optional I agree.  But overall I still believe the sequels have more options for Shepard in general.

I pretty much do the same thing.  That said I still think squadmates should get more customization options.  That is one thing I will give ME 1 you could actually buy armors for squadmates.

Agreed and agreed. I never said there weren't options just they missed some obvious one's they could've used.

I know,  I think we are pretty much on the same page.
