Things been getting worse by the day for DAMP. This is nothing new. But tonight I just couldn't handle it anymore.

I have 99 friends on Origin, 80 of those play DAMP - at least 1/4 (maybe more) are people whom I've added over the last 10 days or so and I expected them to be active at the very least.

But last night I could count on one hand how many people were playing DAMP. Out of those recently added only 1 was playing DAMP at some point. It is virtually impossible to get any lobby going.

Obviously that is when I should pug, right? Well, I can't pug. Neither on host nor off host. Maybe I can find some Routine games going at certain hours, but not at the hours that I play (all night long local time - primetime throughout North America). Thank you Region-lock Matchmaking.

All that is left for me is soloing, something that I haven't done too much yet but I can foresee myself doing it more regularly from now on because seriously, there is nothing left I can play. I am addicted to DAMP, I dedicate no less than 7-8 hours during working days for DAMP, but I end up wasting many hours simply because I don't have anybody to play with. I was able to play some games last night because of two remarkable people whom I am very grateful to, but it is not always that we can play together.

I used to see myself playing DAMP for no less than a year provided that it is supported as ME3 was and now I question myself how many days like this I can take.

Why do you feel the need to make a new thread about it, given all your other posts of a similar nature?

I don't think I've ever made a dedicated thread about this issue, not that I can remember. Yes, I have posts all over the place but mostly on older threads and since then the situation has deteriorated considerably, beyond any pessimistic preditions I had then. Neverthelss, thanks for your insight.

first I wasn't addicted - now I think DAMP grows on me ^_^  ... but I actually have the same problems - a lot of people on my list play DAMP - but weekdays on a very different time schedule than me ... so, only the weekends remain to play with friends

but for me fortunately, pugging is (a little) easier... I mastered the jumping-forward-as-the-only-way-to-move-at-all-and-still-be-able-to-kill-stuff challenge

QQ, These forums ate my huge post because I tried to add links when using Internet Explorer 11 :(

Ah well, will rewrite it when I get home from work in 8 hours time.

But in short - we do not have any insights into multiplayer usage data, therefore we as a community should be extremely careful with going by our gut feelings on our small circle of friends.

As an example, Penguin has been inviting me to play games every now and then, which I've unfortunately not been able to accept for various reasons (Mostly because he has an uncanny timing on inviting me to play just after I did a round of promotions, and I don't feel right going into perillous at level 1) - from his point of view, he could percieve that as not playing the game any longer, where as I consider it my most played game currently, because I typically do get to play a good bunch of hours on weekends, and sometimes on weekdays as well as the Schedule allows.

Are you seriously addicted, or exaggerating for dramatic effect?

The reason i ask is because if you really want to play no matter what, then the logical solution is to diversify your options.

Buy a PS4, which seems the most popular DAMP player base, and give a second option to play private/PUG matches when you can't get a PC game going.

If you play for a month on the PS4, for 7-8 hours a day, it'll work out at a little over £1 / hour for entertainment.

A friend did this with ME3MP, had a PS3 as primary, but a 360 as an alt.

I was playing today but I did not see anybody online. So, not sure, maybe Origin glitching. It happens sometimes when update is supposed to happen but it does not. These updates mess up with friend lists a lot.

I have no doubt that being guinea pigs for patch 2 in early December crippled the PC community.

Not only did it introduce game-breaking bugs which could easily have driven some people away from the game, it split the community between those who ran with the patch in place, and those who chose to work-around and play without the new content.

From my own, albeit anecdotal experience, that was the start of a slow, but steady decline in the number of PC players.

I`ve sent you a friend invite and, while I am not the greatest player in the world, I can hold my own. Playing for very unhealthy periods of time also, at GMT +2 timezone - have kinda sorta stable connection and could host if in a jam and I shouldn`t have issues / lag TOO bad vs you.

Feel free to accept and we`ll see what can be done :)

What is there to say? Bioware has had ample time to add content, balance changes, and fixes to retain customers. They don't even care enough to create a proper microtransaction system and instead invented the pay2fail model with DAMP loot system and platinum chests. Months ago I considered making a petition to EA because I felt bioware's inconceivable laziness was negatively impacting EA's bottom line in a way that not even an evil company like EA deserves. The answer is simple: Bioware just doesn't care.

Almost three months ago I made the following post predicting what would happen if bioware just kept sitting around. They don't deserve players and don't deserve microtransaction sales, the MP is a bad flop and really quite a shame they chose to turn their backs to what was done in ME3MP.

If anything, people at bioware should be worried that there are NOT more people on forums complaining about the mp, or even talking in the da3mp forum, even me3mp has more activity! The reason why there are so few people complaining despite the many things to complain about is not because they don't have complaints, but because they have already written off DA3MP as not worth their time or effort. I've been in so many games where when talking about replayability, people say they don't see themselves playing it long-term, and many are turned off or even frustrated by the crashes, bugs, loot system, repetitive dialogues, constant mic, controls and clunky mechanics, etc.

I got da3 simply because I wanted the MP because I loved ME3MP so much. I haven't done more than several hours of SP and don't intend to go any further in it because I don't care for the writing, and despite my gripes with MP, I still see it has great potential if the bugs were fixed and some improvements were made to improve gameplay and replayability, and these are things that have to be brought to the forefront addressed ASAP before more people write it off.

Between SP and MP I have 750 hours in this game. I don't feel like restarting it all over again. Besides I've always been a devout PC player, so no.

I am not necessarily using a small group of friends as an example. < 5 out of 80 people playing the game a on a regular night is pretty bad, considering that most of them used to be active until a matter of few days ago. I am constantly unfriending and friending people in order to have a more active list as I possibly can, I don't really rely on a small group of friends to play with because people are people after all.

Right now I have 1 friend on my list playing the game. It is an odd hour for me, but late afternoon in Europe. Once again, up until a few days ago there used to be many more people interested in playing, but things have been visibly deteriorating by the day.

The hardest hit for me is not being able to pug due to the region-lock. I add all decent pugs I come across whenever I have a chance to find them through other friend's host, but still, I wish I had to opportunity to find many more.

Spacev3gan is right. Many of the top 100 leaderboard players share between 10-30 of the same friends, and have to frequently remove and add new ones in pugs and between our friends lists because people are leaving left and right. Many of us were the most addicted and dedicated da3mp players with several hours a day played every single day since release, but right now the vast majority of us are just gone and it takes a lot to make such players leave. This game has been bleeding playerbase since it came out, many more left when dying light and evolve came out, and many more left because they don't have the same old friends to play with anymore. It has gotten to the point where the DAMP chatroom that used to have at least 10 people at any time of the day with peaks of 20-25 now has just me alone inside it for ~6-12 hours a day lol'ing at failware's mistakes, and it peaks at about 4-5 players in it during primetime.

Yes, I know, games get old, players move on. But what is so tragic about DAMP is that if it wasn't so half-@$$'ed it could've earned bioware a lot of money and made a lot of people happy. They had such a beautiful system in ME3MP, which required little additional content to be added every few months for a year of support to keep many people's interest even to this day and which had a microtransaction system that even tempted a penny pincher like myself.

When bioware finally decides to release good DLC's for this game, assuming they do, I think the playerbase will look like a ghost town and there won't be many left to enjoy whatever they will make.

I had 28 specific friends that I added for damp but only like 3 or 4 I see online nowadays.

The only real thing going for damp is the fiction fantasy dragon age settings. It is not a meaty multiplayer game with a lot of content. Dlc or add on are too few and takes too much time (3 months and nothing really new but fixes). Feature wise this game is bare bone.

Promoting as a tool to keep people interested hoping to give the mp a longer life cycle is just laziness. It turns the game into a grind, worst than a typical mmorpg grind.

pvp adds longevity to product because players become the content.

Road maps, annoucements, dlc schedule are needed to keep people interested and prevent people from completely leaving the game.

War frâme and recently evolve are games specifically designed as mp games with more progression and depth. 22 out of those 28 friends all bought evolve and so did I.

People will go with the best product. In this age loyalty is not a primary cause to keep using the same broken thing. A game needs to feel supported early on or people will leave for something better. (Show us something concrete and detailed not another PR message that things are in the pipeline)

Planetside 2 roadmap, weekly changes, test server, dev answering question on live stream and twitter.

BF 4 DLC content is announced in advance (a year in advance) and they give you sneak peek of it.+ test server to try new changes.

It keeps people intrigued and coming back

I will take advantage of this thread to clarify issues that I face with Europeans peeps (many of whom are BSNers) and why I have declined playing with them in some occasions.

Not many people are aware of long-distance connectivity issues because not everyone has a friend outside the NA-EU gaming sphere.

I will always black screen on European hosts. On American hosts it can still happen, but on Europeans' it happens 100% of the time. If there are only you and me in a public lobby, most likely a pug will take my spot during my black screen. Game over.

I can only play with Europeans if we get enough people to make a private lobby and I leave and rejoin when the game is in-progress. Some people don't mind that I enter the game at late zone 1 or zone 2, but some people do and have told me so.

So, just to clarify things. Nothing against Europeans.

I'm done with it until new content comes out bro, that and they enhance the crafting/reward system as well. Tired of the bs game design. After you've played for as long as me or veramis you realize its not worth it at all until changes are made.

You assume alot, and place prehaps 50 people up on a pedestal when likely those 50 people would never spend money on DAMP anyhow, since they already have ready access to alot of gold.

It'll always be the casuals with more money than time that will carrying the cost.

Also, since we do not have any visibility into what the numbers are, I would wager that the casuals are playing just fine.

I base this on the following four infographics;

https://www.facebook...?type=1- Threatening, 60% agents who completed the challenge.

https://www.facebook...?type=1- Undying 59% agents who completed the challenge

https://www.facebook...?type=1- Golden 38% of agents who completed the challenge.

https://www.facebook...?type=1- Spoils of War 37% of agents who complete the challenge.

Previous multiplayer challenges did not get an infographic unfortunately.

However, we can clearly see the increase in agents that complete the challenge, obviously Patch 4 is likely a large part of this, but I don't see why we would be concerned that a number of the top 0.01% quits the game, other than to make drama (this is the BSN after all)

because torm, we're on the leaderboards and know who the perilous players are and there are practically none left that still play. I haven't played the game in over a month and what am I rank 48 or something now ? I'm not even logging in to check because that's how much damp SUCKS.

The game is dying very quickly. It wouldn't surprise me if there was only 1500 players playing at peak. Last week I couldn't even find a threatening game at one point. There may be a handful of newcomers playing threatening but, so what.
