Move on when I still want to play the game? Is that what people are suggesting me to do?

 

I despise the region-lock matchmaking above anything and I think it is just unfair that I can't land on a busy American server during their primetime and instead I end up stranded in my region

 

I offered you a solution, but you said no.  Fair enough, but it just shows you're not desperate enough yet.

 

As far as i'm aware, the devs said there was no region-locking (this is probably more latency matching), and even accepting region locking on PC:  on the PS4 you definitely suffer this less or it does not exist.  I can play public games at very anti social hours, and end up in American servers (with more lag), and even south america, which is very much outside my region.

The recent weekend challenges heavily imply there are far more players on PS4 than PC, so you are far more likely to find a] players in your region, or b] matched with decent latency players outside your region.

 

Know anyone, like a neighbour or co-worker, with a PS4 you could at least try DAMP on?  

Buy one, and return it within 7 days for a full refund* (if your consumer laws cover such things)?  *excluding cost of PSN

 

I get "swap platforms" is not an answer you want to hear, but it is (probably) a solution to your problem.

I have only three friends who play DAMP,one plays only weekends and two others are supa popular,so I can’t play with them as often.

 

So,skilled players from USA and Canada (because during the week I play in odd hours) are most welcome to drop some invites.

I'm one of SpaceV3gan's more recent friend list additions (although under a different name).  While I agree with most of the complaints already posted, the reason I've been playing less has nothing to do with burnout or frustration.  My homework/studies are demanding more of my time, so when I get on DAMP it might only be for an hour or so when I need a break (longer on the weekends).

 

Reason for posting:  just putting it out there that some of us might be playing less due to real life obligations/responsibilities.

Thank for your clarification. You still play more often than most people whom I've added recently, although I noticed that you haven't been staying around for many hours lately.

I understand people have other priorities in life. So do I. Otherwise I would be playing (or trying to play) DAMP way more than what I do. The game has been dying slowly since that infamous Patch 3 or whatever, but as of this week it is dead as dead can be. At least from my point of view.
Right now I have no one from my friend's list in game. Up until last Sunday I would easily find ten or so, virtually at any given hour because I had added so many people over the recent days. Now I don't know what is going on. I just can't explain this sudden turn of events.

Played it over two years, virtually everyday and never had issues finding players, both veterans and newcomers. Best gaming experience of my life and I imagine many people here would share similar thoughts of it.

I'm a PC enthusiast but that doesn't mean i like multiplayer, and bad multiplayers tacked onto a meh singleplayer, i'm not sure why you are surprised no one wants to play it?

Anytime you see below 6 on metacritic for user-reviews you don't want even want to go there. You know its a disaster at that point.

Give Evolve two months and it'll be dead too, its just got nothing to keep people, i'm still waiting on my ****** pre order for Dying Light, i am considering cancelling as it get like 4/10 in the Aussie game reviews..

I love MEMP, put around 800 hours into that...

 

I will grant you that it is a game that keeps on giving.

In part down to the grindy manifest, as who doesn't want to max that? I haven't yet... (90 UR unlocks to go...)

 

Was it designed to be constantly entertaining?

I think BioWare were surprised at its success as were many players.

 

That BioWare switched off the support after a year also shows that BioWare misread its ongoing appeal.

 

I remain of the view that MEMP is an exception in gaming and that most games are not designed to hold attention indefinitely.

I don't actually know how to interpret this Irier, especially because it is your first post on BSN forums, possibly from a fresh account. We haven't played all that much, but the last thing I do is to tell other people about my builds. In fact, I started playing the Arcane Warrior last night and I've been asking Spacemonkey712 and others how I should spec it, because seriously I have no clue how to play it; I've barely played 30 completed games with it.

It is perfectly understandable that some people will choose not to play with me due to infinite personal reasons, but "constantly play a broken build and telling people it is awesome" is just not me. Perhaps others who have had more experience sharing their time in game with me can give a more accurate testimony of what type of person I am.

Well there is your elitist attitude that makes you hard to play with because I don't have posts on a thread means my words aren't true.  Next about you asking people for build, That's funny 1st and i quote around the lines of you saying "I have always played this build and i'm used to it, i don't want to change it" Second anyone who has played with you knows you have played the Arcane Warrior before last night myself included we tried to tell you last week. and again today after we carried you through 2 promotes. All those above aside you are trying to tell everyone that being #30 or so on the leader boards and you never attempted arcane warrior? that there doesn't make sense. We both told you the build you were doing was a selfish build like your play style, it didn't help the team and you just got in the way body blocking.

 

I am not sure what you actually here and what you think you here, but bragging about how your long time BSN and 750 hours played then lie about what actually goes on in game says about your character...

I just played a few games with SpaceV3gan (and veramis) last weekend (perilous) - I bet especially on sunday it was hard for him because I was the (European) host   - and I felt very welcome although my prestige is way below his

just saying - not to defend him (he can do that pretty good himself) but to state a different opinion

 

 

secondly: in all the gold-pug-matches I played on MEMP over the years I only once or twice came across a familiar gamer-tag... DAIMP: I mostly pug (all difficulties) and I'm mostly thinking: "wait a minute, I played with you before " - so i see the same gamer-tags in pugs all over which leads me to the assumption that the DAMP-pc-player-base (even in Europe) is indeed rather small...

If you are from Europe and I have never played with you,it means you are one of those elitists,who only play private matches.Unless,your Origin ID is different than BSN nickname.

The fact that they've returned to the just retarded 'random items per chest' (a-la ME3), instead of a proper store where you can actually choose what to buy was the final nail in the coffin.

I still play daily (UK here), but only to promote my archer at this point. I have limited gaming time, other games to play and BioWare haven't really done anything to keep people playing. As I recall, it wasn't part of their focus in the first place. Just a way for friends to play Dragon Age, or something to that effect.

 

My friends aren't on PC and I'm so tired of pulling superb runes and junk purples that I'm not likely to keep playing for very long. Still no Longbow of the Griffon.

Choosing what to buy would be overkill. ME3's loot system was annoying at times but the more you played, the easier it got to avoid the crap. DAMP doesn't even have that. Can you imagine if ME3 had this kind of system? Because that's nightmare fuel for me.

First I don't think it's the other players, I think it's they don't want to play with you. I like playing with pugs and beginners that improve and want to try new builds, but you on the other hand constantly play a broken build telling people its awesome. Your Arcane Warrior is horrible even though multiple people have tried to help you, that is why you are seeing less people play with you, because they don't want to play with someone that makes the game harder. Having you in the group feels like a handi cap. When you were dead and there was just Me and another player 2 manning the rest it was honestly a lot easier.

You make a lot of accusations in your two prior posts, but the thing is, none of us can confirm or deny what you say except with our own anecdotal experience with SpaceV3gan which in turn can't be confirmed or denied by others. But if you have an issue with him, why do you have to be so vitriolic about it when all we've seen from Space on the forum is that he is a nice person? But for what its worth, my experiences with him don't match what you say.

 

I bolded three of your more presumptuous statements which I will respond to.

 

I've never seen Space play AW despite your claim, and I know that he's been busy farming specific class banners for at least the last three weeks which made him play only a very few classes most of the time. I'm sure many others who play with him regularly can vouch for this.

 

You claim that SpaceV3gan is "trying to tell everyone" that he is #30th on the leaderboard, but he hasn't said such. I am the one who mentioned leaderboards (without mentioning specific rank of anyone) but for the purpose of illustrating that many of the most hardcore players have left the game. He mentioned that he has put in 750 hours for the purpose of illustrating what a bad idea it is for him to switch to another gaming platform (which is a bad idea for many other reasons also).

 

You claim that Space is bragging about how he is "long time BSN" and has 750 hours played is wrong. You simply don't know how to read properly. And personally I very much lean towards the idea that you are simply slandering a good person because you have nothing better to do.

Side Note: The leaderboards on PC had almost immediately no meaning when a handful of people jumped to astronomical prestige levels within the first month. Do the math on how many hours it would take to gain 700 prestige... It's not possible.

 

Aside, that SpaceV3gan guy is pretty cool. I heard he eats a lot of innocent baby plants, though. What a monster...

I am not being elitist, I just have the impression that you created an account to come here and criticize me on my thread. I am open to hear/read what others have to say about me as long as they are meaningful and constructive. But what you are saying it just not the reality, you might be mistaking me for somebody else. If you can ask Spacemonkey712 about what type of person I am sure he would tell you differently from what you are thinking.

I played the Arcane Warrior in December when I was new to the game just to complete 25 games for the Challenges and stopped using it. I never liked the character. Monday night one friend asked me if I could use Pull of the Abyss for the team, and being happy to do it I decided to dust off my Arcane Warrior. You can ask Spacemonkey712 to confirm this, as well as other friends here who have played with me (Veramis, Zorinho, Dekibra) if they have ever seen me using the Arcane Warrior. I sincerely don't know what "we tried to tell you last week" as well as "We both told you the build you were doing was a selfish build like your play style, it didn't help the team and you just got in the way body blocking".  Spacemonkey712 didn't say anything negative about my Arcane Warrior. I recall him being happy to see me using Pull of the Abyss for his Katari. So honestly I don't know how you came up with this, especially the "we".

I am somewhat high on he Leaderboards, but what does it have to do with the Arcane Warrior? I have used many other characters and decided not to use him much until now. There are 12 characters on this game. I know people who are higher than me on the Leaderboards and have played the AW even less.

As for my 750 hours played in game, I just used that as the reason I would not to move to PS4 at this point as somebody else had suggested me. I was not bragging about it at all. So please Irier, let's not get things out of context.
As I said before, some people may choose not to play with me due to infinite personal reasons and you are free to be one of them. You don't have to use my thread as a means to rage against me or whatever your intention is.

Even more reason to stay away from that way. Besides, with the right prizes, it wouldn't be overkill.

 

You could make a Fade-Touched Silverite (Guard) to cost 250000 Gold pieces, for example. Terribly expensive, but at least people could aim for it if they wanted to.

But I have now stopped playing DAMP as it is really tedious; RNG loot, zero diversity in weapons and boring maps just to name a couple of things.

 

M3MP is where it is at
