Didn't really know where to put this so it ended up here.

 

Just today I noticed the back of my game disc case says Resolution 720 / 1080p.

I've always thought PS3 games were 720. My AV receiver and TV both support FullHD ie. 1080.

 

So, my question is does the game really play on 1080 resolution on PS3 or is it just an artifact from case printing department where they print out game cases for all versions of the game or what?

 

Edit: Forgot to mention my TV says it's showing a picture in 720 mode. It is set to automatically use the resolution it is fed to.

I think it is, because PS3 can play Blu-Ray discs, and Blu-Ray is in 1080 px.

 

It might go under the Technical Support forum. Not sure.

Ye, Tech Support mighta been the most appropriate but I checked it and it's more of a Bioware answers stupid questions thing than players interacting and by posting on the forums I was hoping to get answer from someone who experienced the same and solved it one way or another.

 

The thing with tech support stuff often is they ask too many self explanatory not very relevant questions. Is your PS3 connected to the internet, how big a hard drive does it have, etc.

 

Your hunch may be right though, some clips from the game might run on 1080 so it is listed on the back cover, while the rest of th a game is 720.

The PS3 version has a resolution of 1280x704.

I guess that's it then. I was really hoping there's a way to raise the resolution. :/

Still baffles me though why does it say 1080 on the box. Guess any theory is just as good as any other if the game can't use it.
