Near the end of Elven Ruins Zone 4, just before the exit, there's an area with two treasure rooms. I have seen many teams effectively commit suicide here, which is disappointing because this is not a particularly difficult area to clear correctly.
Please consult this crude drawing -- I didn't have time to build it to scale or to paint it, but it should get the point across.

You enter from the left-hand side ('From Zone 4 entrance'), after killing some enemies off the left-hand side of the map. There is some convenient rubble, indicated by the hashed area, that prevents the nearby 'Enemies including ranged units' from seeing you immediately.
What you should do is kill the enemies in this room first. You have some cover from the rubble, or you can go back through the 'From Zone 4 Entrance' to draw the enemies around the door.
Do not open the 'south' locked door before killing the enemies. If you do, and the room is guarded, you are now flanked between the enemies in the 'south' room and the enemies in the main room.
It is possible to skirt the 'south' edge of the room and get into the treasure room without attracting the attention of the enemies in the main room. That's fine. But when you emerge from the 'south' treasure room, do not enter the 'east' treasure room before you kill the enemies in the main room.
If you enter the 'east' treasure room without clearing the enemies in the main room, the other group of enemies at the exit can see you through the portcullis. If you open the portcullis, those enemies can pass through the now-raised portcullis and attack you.
The suicidal behavior comes in when you also end up drawing aggro from the enemies in the main room. Any stray arrow, staff projectile, mass taunt ability (War Cry, etc.), or similar can attract attention from those enemies. If you do that, you're trapped in a small room between two large groups of enemies.
The safest way to clear the end of Elven Ruins Zone 4 is to ignore both treasure rooms until after you've killed all the enemies. Clear the main room first, then clear the group at the exit. After they're all dead, you can open both treasure rooms at your leisure. If the 'south' treasure room is guarded, you will only face a handful of weak enemies or a single Arcane Horror / Revenant because everything else will be dead.
I hope this helps people avoid good runs ending in disaster at Zone 4.
Caveats:
- If your team is speed-running, you don't care about treasure rooms, so this advice will be useless to you.
- If someone is rushing to the end of the Zone to draw all the aggro, then this advice will also be useless to you.
- If your team is strong enough that a few people can clear one group of enemies while the rest of the group clears a treasure room (or vice versa), then do whatever you want. You don't need my advice.
