The rules of this thread are simple. You are to choose a new warrior, a new rogue and a new mage that isn't currently available in the Inquisition party roster and say why you would include them in Inquisition, if you would make them romance-able and what would be their background, hobbies, qualities and flaw if you create them from scratch.

---

Warrior: Oghren, seems like a fan-favorite. I could see him being sent to the Inquisition as an intermediate of the Grey Wardens of Amaranthine to help the Inquisition fighting against the remnants of Corypheus' army. If he wasn't recruited in the Grey Wardens, he'd be a mercenary for hire with the same type of goal to assist in the new questline.

Rogue: Tallis, romance option both both male and female people, not race gated. Her mission would involve something about reforming a corrupted branch of the Qunari or something about leaving the faith behind and starting her life over if you convince her that the Qun isn't the right way.

Mage: Morrigan. I could easily see her fill the spot as the new mage companion for the questline involving what happens after the credits scenes of the first game. She could come back to Skyhold after receiving some interesting information that might help people track down Solas. She could replace Solas' spot as well if no other companion can be recruited. She is an adviser for the main campaign, but doesn't have any perks on her own... So I figure either she becomes a new mage companion or an adviser with her own merits.

---

Characters I'd like to see return as NPC at least: Any companions from Origins, Amaranthine, Dragon Age 2, etc.

Cullen - warrior - romance option for female

Zevran - rogue - romance option for male or female

(or Nate - rogue - romance option for female)

Anders - mage - romance option for male or female

Wow, this would be a fun group...Cullen and Anders would not be happy together.

Warrior: Fenris (he has strong ties to Tevinter and may have some insight on the Venatori conflict)

Rogue: Sebastian (was mentioned briefly in a War Table mission and IMO deserves to return to center stage, plus is deeply religious and this story deals heavily with the religion of the Maker)

Mage: Um... Wynne is dead, Irving is dead... ah... eh... I can't think of anyone.  I'll edit something in later if I do.

Oh, and as for romances... sure, why not.

Warrior: Sten

I have yet to read the graphic novels (of which he is apparently a part of?) But I would be curious to check back on him. Is his still faithful to the Qun? Did he go mercenary if the Warden didn't return his sword? I know we've had our Qunari companions, but since going North in the next installment seems like a high possibility, I'd love to see someone from North the accompanying us (alternatively....Krem would be great too)

Rogue:

Hrrm....this is harder than I anticipated....Perhaps Sigrun? Awakening's epilogue were kind of a glitchy mess ^.^, but I know two of the possibilities for her were for her to either remain in the Wardens, or run off into the Deep Roads to fulfill her promise to the Legion of the Dead. And she was so relaxed as a character (a lot of the people we meet, as enjoyable as they are, are very....archetypal. She seemed fairly 'normal', in a sense).

Mage: Merrill

Primarily, this has more to do with what we learned about the Eluvians in Inquisition. I almost always made her destroy her Eluvian (rival path woo!), and seeing now what they actually can do, and that Morrigan has a working one....I feel a little guilty :P I'd want to see her growth as a character, whether it's as someone who stuck by her ideals, or someone who threw it away, only to learn more about them from the Inquisitor.

TBH, though, there's a lot of characters who could be quite interesting in an expansion.

Hah... crazy idea time:

Arcane Warrior - A female Elf, from the times before Solas decided it was time for a long nap. In the Temple of Mythal it's hinted at by Solas and Abelas that there are 'others like them'. This has been bugging me ever since and it begs for DLC :P. Not romanceable, not interested in you. She knows Solas from before, way before. She joins after Solas leaves (so after you beat the game), you hunt/trace Solas.
Briala - Exciled Briala can join the Inquisition instead. If you choose Gaspard, you can ask him to let her live and join the Inquisition, or insist she be executed. Briala who rules Orlais doesn't join. Romanceable for male Elf. It's not going to happen, I know this ;)

I think I used up all classes now :P

I also seem to recall that they weren't going to add new squadmates.

Well, they would have to have specializations we haven't seen yet, right? Let's see...

Warrior: Is Shale still around? If so, I trust that I don't need to explain why having "it" back would be awesome.

Mage: A Rivaini seer would be pretty neat. Preferably a really old lady with equal parts wisdom and sass.

Rogue: Some sort of trained animal. Like a wolf or Mabari.

Okay, so after much thought I guess I have to just create a mage from scratch.  In addition to Fenris and Sebastian, I will go with a romanceable male Spirit Healer from the Loyalist fraternity who is troubled greatly by recent events and decides to use his rare gift for healing magic to bring peace to the land.  His hobby is healing the sick and his flaw is... he's a workaholic.

Oh yeah, and since he can use actual healing magic and not just Focus powers, let's say that his offensive magic is pretty weak and undeveloped so that he isn't OP... like, he has zero combat experience, so he's not going to be a good fighter until he's near max level, and even then he still won't be that good at fighting (maybe this could come in the form of nerfs to the damage/duration of his offensive spells to show his lack of experience or something...).  To compensate for this, he has access to several of the traditional Dragon Age support spells like the old school Glyphs, Aura of Might, Cleansing Aura, etc...

Oh, and one final thing... Fenris and Sebastian will use their abilities from DA2, rather than be forced to use the new DAI ability trees (like that "Bull Rush" ability replacing Scythe for Fenris... >.>... that's just not gonna work for me).

I am surprised no-one has suggested Harding for a rogue (or should she be a warrior?). Definitely should be non-romancable though.

I would quite like to explore the possibilities of a tranquil mage, but since they can't cast spells any more it might be a bit tricky. Maybe we could have some exceptional circumstances.

A tranquil artificer who uses magical weapons and grenades would work. Don't see why a tranquil can't be an archer either. In fact, with their level of patience, they can be the best marksmen in the world.

01. A companion that fixes all the bugs in the game.

02. A companion that adds lots of story based quests to each area.

03. Sigrun. With an update that lets her swing two axes instead of those puny daggers.

Mage: Morrigan, non-romanceable for obvious reasons.

Rogue: Zevran, romanceable as he generally keeps his relationships loose.

Warrior: Oghren, non-romanceable for obvious reasons.
