Hey, 

 

This week we'll be on XBox One!  Billy, Myself, and the Dancing PM Ryan Treadwell will be on stream eating donuts... Billy and I will also be forcing Ryan to dance.

 

Remember, these streams are about fun, playing with fans, and building a community together, so come join us if that interests you.  The streams is also when we announce the weekend event hashtag that gets you in for a chance to win some logictech gear, or signed game copies, or old stale donuts.

 

Some questions and notes from last week.

 

1. Will you stream on PC sometime?

- Yes, we are still planning on streaming on PC to play with our fans on that platform, it requires more setup and currently we're a little squashed for time.

 

2. DAIMP DLC, when?

- Can not talk specifics, except that we are going to support DAIMP the same as ME3MP.

 

3. What does your name mean? Fiddzz.

- It's supposed to be "Fiddler" from the Malazan books, but that is usually taken in games, so I shortened it to Fiddzz, or some variation of that.

 

4. GUI Improvements

- We're constantly looking at ways to improve the game, for example an attributes screen is one that keeps popping up internally/from fans.

- Match making improvements were looking at too, map choices, factions, difficutly, etc, for hosts.

 

5. Why isn't the challenge global instead of per platform.

- Design choice, for the in game tracker/challenge banner to appear it is platform specific, currently we prefer that over a hidden global one.

 

6. Character balance changes

- As we said on the stream, these are of less concern to us that other fixes, as our game is not a PvP or competitive environment, having a character that is stronger than others is not game breaking.  We will keep monitoring agents and their power levels to adjust as we seen fit.

 

7. Individual PUG/Private slots in a public game

- That's an interesting idea.

 

8. Weekend Challenge intro screen?
- Currently we do have one, when clicking Mutiplayer form the start screen and before entering MP you should see a message from Cullen/Leliana etc, on what is this weekends event.

 

9. More Schematics for crafting?
- Definitely something we are looking at

 

10. Commendation/Victory chests are different from large how?

- Higher chance at rare/unique.

 

11. Billy died a lot last week, why wasn't Colleen there to carry?

- Good point, and we have Ryan this week instead too... I foresee more wipes in our future.

 

12. Are you planning on revamping the loot system?

- Loot, items, chests, gold economy are all things we look at constantly, we are happy with the current design but are always looking at ways to improve our game.

 

13. Chris Bain, has he yet to get the ring?
- Nope, but Billy did, and relished in rubbing it in.

 

14. Add incomplete or failed challenges to the challenge screen?

- No, currently no plans to do this.  It's a design choice, but as with everything, things may change.

 

15. Matching making; why am I the only person in the lobby at certain times?
- Good question, i've seen this pop up a few times and will look into it.

Yes, the other hashtag had... other things popping up if you searched that on twitter. DAIMP it is.

Ah, I had not actually searched it, but I can imagine. I have also heard searching "Solas" on Tumblr is precarious and doesn't always yield artwork of a certain bald elven mage. 
 
Good to know, since I've been juggling both hashtags lately on Twitter because was unsure with the sudden change. Ever forward!

First off all: Love the streams (and my new DAI mouse, finally managed to hook up with Fedex to claim it today), and super annoyed that work is making me miss this week's show.

 

Secondly, that bit above with the event splash screen: Any chance of having it *just* when you enter the game and mp. Gets kinda intrusive when you have to click through it every time you get punted back to the menu from a failed host migration or lost session when searching for a game.

Seems to me that even if you have to push/postpone release dates something is definitely better than nothing...

The Malazan Chronicles is by far the most incredibly epic series I have ever encountered!

i searched for "DAMP ring vs DAIMP", it was... err... surprising the results.  I highly recommend not watching any video results in a public place 

Also "worth" searching for DAMP Katari, again, you get a lot of non Dragon Age multiplayer results    I think there's some asian "actress" called Katari.

I don't think anyone is happy with the loot system except for people at bioware. 

 

And count me unlucky but I have yet to get ANYTHING of worth in commendation yet people who have got 20 griffon bows are getting more in their weekly commendation chests and I am getting none.

Ahh okay. Someone sent me on a wild Google-chase and all I could find was a LoLKing profile. Makes sense now. At least I don't have to call you Fizz now.

 

I just assumed this followed a pattern like other games where poor host were selected last for hosting lobbies (or blocked altogether) but even prior to the player migration on Xbox 360 I would see this occur randomly. If it took longer than 5 mins then I'd drop the lobby, exit completely out the game and start up a new one. Not sure if it was a matter or luck or mentally fooled myself into thinking it worked but I didn't have to wait as long the second time around. One thing I can say for sure is that if you get a second person in, then usually a 3-4th tends to drop in not too soon after.

Questions!

 

1. Are there any plans for publicly-viewable DAIMP HQ information? What about a data API that can grab information?
2. Would it be possible to display a player's DAIMP prestige number in the lobby? That way you can tell if that guy with no title, banner, or portrait really is a fresh, new player, or just a veteran sick of the options available?
3. Would it be possible to have an option for map rotation, random or fixed? You can manually change it, but it currently clears Ready status (as it should) and is often forgotten.
4. Can you mail me a donut? Please?
