They purposely made it like that so we could all complain that it's unrealistic and inappropriate.

The people of Thedas are too busy dying or killing each other to complain about seeing cleavages and inappropriate outfits. They're not as sensitive when it comes to what they see.

Sexy is what Morrigan's outfit is.

Morrigan is the type of woman who gives zero f**ks about what people think of her. She will wear what she wants and do what she wants. Meaning, this thread is pointless.

I think the "issue" here is that Skyhold is located in the north, surrounded by mountains and snow, and she's always outside in the garden and has no warm clothes on. I was a bit disappointed that she didn't end up like the concept art. I get that they were trying to make her as similar to Origins as possible, but the fact that she's been wearing the same clothes for 10 years, is a bit... weird. Specially since you can see that she's more mature now, I was expecting a bit of change on her wardrobe as well. But it's not a big issue. She was still amazing.

I want these for the quizzy. I mean if you aren't going to give them to morrigan..I will take them.

The problem is, that she is depicted as caring mother. And such a person doesn't wear such a slutty outfit in public, but rather normal and decent clothes. Without her son it wouldn't be a problem, but with all the motherly behaviour it is misplaced, especially during the scene with Flemeth, when she says, that she will never be such a miserable mother like Flemeth.
A normal tunic with pants or something like Triss outfit in Witcher 2 would be appropriate in my oppinion.

This thread reminds me of that "there's naked wimminz on my top tier items" one.

I'll take a naked woman on my "top tier item" if you know... no, nevermind.  Pretend you don't know this about me...

Got to say it bugs me. We need to send her to Stacy and Clinton (What not to Wear) for a make over. Totally inappropriate

She's kept that outfit for 10 years for special occasions.

Morrigan wears what Morrigan wants to. The Witch of the Wilds obeys no laws of man or fashion, unless her son wants to dress her up.

I say the Inquisitor is in no position to judge anyone's Skyhold outfit.

If Morrigan was my mom I wouldn't mind her wearing that outfit.

Much less a 10-year-old kid...

I call impractical and in very poor taste which is surprising because if she picked her dress at the winter palace she showed excellent taste... which she threw out the window when she came to Skyhold to wear unfashionable tasteless rags.

I would have liked to have seen this instead as her "normal" wear.

Would have been a nice call back to the early CG trailers from Dragon Age Origins

Regardless though, her "witch of the wilds" outfit is fine.

Yes, because what clothes you wear determines your behavior as a mother. When I am walking down the street and see a woman with a child and she isn't wearing something "appropriate", the first thing I do is report her. She won't be raising a child on my watch! I also started a petition for all mothers to be required to wear victorian aged swimwear. Kids cannot be allowed to view their mother as a strong, independent thinking woman who is confidant and doesn't bend to social stigma. If you are a mom and you don't dress in full body clothing, then gtfo. Amirite?

Wasn't sure where to put this but since it does contain a major spoiler , here it is.

Does anyone else find Morrigan's outfit in the Skyhold gardens, a tad inappropriate especially when standing in front of her son?  It was basically a bikini and a scarf around her neck.  Every time I watch that cutscene I find her outfit a bit... distracting.  I didn't mind it in DAO , of course, but it seems a bit revealing to wear around her kid.

On the other hand, her dress in Wicked Hearts was stunning.

Seriously?,What about she cutting her hair very short and never use make up. She should change all her wardrobe and replace it only with tunics that can cover arms, legs, head and neck. She should also give up studying magic (or anything else) and dedicate the rest of her life to bake delicious pies for her newfound son.

I always thought it was an odd choice of outfit in terms of being protective, especially in combat in the first game.  Sometimes you can't just run away from fighting.  I mean hey world, hit my mage right in the sternum with a sword.  It's exposed for the hitting!  As a woman I personally want my girls to have more support than a string bikini top, but then again Morrigan is not well endowed. So that is just me projecting.  LOL.

Because the cloth that mages wore provided more protection right?

Pretty much this. Very little traditional mage clothing is meant to be actual armour. Even in DA:I, few of the mage outfits offer serious protection.

The robes was at least more practical and realistically chainmail could fit over a robe as people did in RL historically and be more protective from the elements.

I feel that this would be more appropriate...for the climate and location. Though her traditional outfit was suitable for a warm (possibly humid) Arbor Wilds climate.

If we're questioning it because she's a mom....get real people. It's fantasy. It's not the USA. And quite frankly, Morrigan wouldn't give a two craps if she was in the USA.

Ahhh BSN if it isn't equality issues you prattle about its fashion criticism.
