I find Dorian's final specialization talent on the left side of his tree, I think it's called something like mark of death (but that's an assassin thing, I think), completely worthless.  The affected creature dies, gets possessed, and runs off somewhere inaccessable to collapse and hide its loot.  It never fights for the party or does anything more than run off and hide to die.

The skill is supposed to be toggle-able, but the only toggle I've found is to turn it off in tactics.  That fixes the un-recoverable loot-drop problem, but since it's the final talent in that line, I really don't see much point in taking it at all.  I suppose if I ever want to miss some really sweet loot, I know what to do, but I'd really rather be able to take advantage of his top-tier specialty talent without having to drop everything and find out where that Venatori lieutenant finally fell over.

Is there any way for Dorian to dismiss the enchantment once it's been activated?

Using the ability again while having an active spirit should dismiss it. I agree however, always found that ability more trouble than it's worth, especially used by the AI.

I haven't used it in single player. Dorian isn't part of my party this go around.  Perhaps the next.   I know in multiplayer however it's actually rather useful.  Now that the AI bugs where it stands there and does nothing are somewhat fixed it's fun to possess a pride demon and watch it beat everybody else down.  It's completely possible that running away is some stupid AI trying to attack something.

I don't see why they can't just give the spirits the same kind of AI that regular enemies have. They always seem to find their way to you in a hurry and immediately follow you and press their attack if you back away. Those spirits should be on top of your enemies like regular enemies are on you. The same goes for situations where a friendly mob is set to follow you but keep getting lost or stuck on terrain, like the druffalo escort quest.
