I have completed Inquisition and DA 2 once, now I am playing DA 2 again for refreshing my memory since I am not really read the story when I was first play it. In Inquisition's quest, Hawke bring his Grey Warden's friend, Stroud and on that quest I chose Stroud died instead of Hawke. As I remember, Hawke knew Stroud because he was the one who saved Bethany from Darkspawn's taint and made her a Grey Warden. Now, on my 2nd play in DA 2, I chose Bethany to stay home and got her taken into the Circle, the question is, who will Hakwe bring now in Inquisition? Because I made Alistair as king and kill Loghain.
Who will be Hawke's friend?

It is either Stroud, Alistair or Loghain - the latter two only if they are GW of course,

Hawke still encounters Stroud, albeit briefly, in DA:2.

You always encouter Stroud in DA2, regardless of whether Bethany/Carver were at the Deep Roads with your Hawke. Stroud is leading the Wardens that show up in the middle of the qunari attack at the end of Act 2, and he always meets Hawke at that point regardless of previous meetings.
Here, from about 1:02
Nothing says they couldn't keep in touch afterwards, or that Stroud or Hawke couldn't seek out each other for their own purposes after the story.

^He always meets Hawke unless its Alistair instead. But then it would be Alistair in Inquisition, as well.
Question: Does Loghain lead the wardens in Kirkwall in that scene if he's alive and a warden?

Actually Stroud is still there with a Warden Alistair world state, even the Warden you talk to is Alistair. Stroud is just standing there, creeping in the background of that scene like no big deal, no big deal.
Unfortunately, Loghain does not appear at all in DA2 if you have him as a Warden. I was really looking forward to that when the game came out and I spoiled myself that Warden Alistair could appear, but... nope.
Aah, at least we know now that he was just too busy being a bamf in Orlais at the time.

Inquisition inspired me to buy origins along with all DLC last month and I liked it. Is DA2 really as bad as people say?
Nothing is ever as bad as the internet would try to convince you of. Try it out yourself, see how you like it.
Just keep in mind that it's is nothing like Origins or Inquisition, so if you're expecting to just play more of the same, you'll be surprised. Take DA2 as it comes, understand that it was trying to do its own thing and not just be a copypasta of Origins, and you'll enjoy it for what it is.

As a game, no, it isn't bad. Compare it to Origins, however, many people find it disappointing. I like it, but that's just me.

Like JT said above, it's not a bad game at all and it does have it's fan, but it's not an epic in scope or in story as Origins and I think that's why some of the fandom were disappointed, plus the infamous reused environments (which to be fair, ME1 and Origins did as well, just not as much) and lack of player agency in the story when it comes to affecting outcomes?
Still, for all it's faults I kinda like it as it's a more self-contained, personal story and you get to see the characters and friendships evolve over the space of a decade, it has probably the best cast of characters (sorry Origins, Awakening and Inquisition, but the DA2 crew felt more like a family) and I'm of the opinion that Hawke is probably the most interesting (and under-rated) protagonist we've had thus far.
I think part of the reason the have been a few threads about the Inquisitor being a tad bland is because they weren't as fun to play as Hawke at times, since they had a lot of awesome banter, especially the sarcastic personality, that kept the game fun when you were doing trivial sidequests?

Good game on it's own.
Somewhat disappointing after Origins.

That can be also Alistair.

I actually thought it was very strange that Hawke somehow befriended Stroud even though Bethany died in the Deep Roads in my game. He had only met the man for about half a minute in the middle of the Qunari attack, so I'm not sure what would have led to a second encounter offscreen. But I guess it's not really my place to question that since Hawke is Bioware's character now... anything could have happened during or after DA2 that we as players are simply unaware of (during because Varric could have left out some details in his telling, and after for obvious reasons).

It's not nearly as weird as how they befriended Loghain?
I suppose Loghain was the one who tracked down Hawke for information about Corypheus, rather than Hawke going to Alistair/Stroud for information, or that if Bethany/Carver are Wardens they might have pointed Loghain to their brother... but even so, that's sounds like it'd be kinda an interesting story?

I've only just realised it is possible for Hawke not to encounter Stroud at all, provided you leave the sibling behind on the Deep Roads trip and have Alistair as the surviving Grey Warden in DA2.

that way Alistair will be Hawke's grey warden companion in DA:I
