Is Kirrahe alive without ME1 import?

I'm playing Mass Effect 2 for the first time. But in my conversation with Mordin he says that Kirrahe died back at Virmire. I didn't import my saves from ME1 because I used the interactive comic to establish my past. Does that mean that Kirrahe died anyway, or that Mordin was misinformed? Do I finally learned how to import my ME1 saves, but there's no automatic epilogue save, like in Dragon Age: Origins. The last save I have listed is before the end of the Virmire operation. What should I do?

The only way for Kirrahe to be alive in ME2/ME3 is to have him survive Virmire and use a save from ME1 to import into ME2

Thanks to that. I'm starting over again. But what if I don't have any saves after Virmire? Played it with automatic saves.

The Genesis Comic leaves much to be desired. Shiala is dead. The colony on Feros is destroyed. Conrad Verner never shows up. Kirrahe is dead. Gianna Parasinni never shows up. On the whole, I found it was better to do a speed-run through ME1, doing only the barest minimum number of side quests needed that have some impact on later games.

I should think you would have an autosave right before the confrontation with Saren. If so, you only have to fight the last boss-fight.

That's what I usually do

I hope so. When I tried going back the last save I found listed was set back in Virmire. But at least I have a chance to hear all those elevator conversations again.

If you play on PC or Xbox you could use use the Gibbed Save Editor to fix these things I believe.

I'm re-installing the game, the DLCs, and other extra add-ons. I kept getting the stupid Genesis comic regardless of importing my saves. At least this way I can go through what I've got when I purchased the Deluxe Edition.

That's one of the main reaso0ns why I don't use the comics I'd rather play through the games myself and transfer my save from one to the next which is what I plan to do with DA too.

The handling of Dragon Age's DLC's and importable saves is a lot easier to handle compared to Mass Effect 2.

It's not that hard really you just have to tell ME2 each time you have a save to import where it is as it dosen't pick it up automatically like ME3 does. At least that's the case on PC

You can from DA:O > DA:A > Amgarrak > Witch Hunt > DA2 just fine.  However, there is no import function into Inquisition.  You create "world states" in what is called the Keep and set that to be imported into Inquisition when you start a new game (or just go with default world state.)  It's a website where you toggle various choices you could have made in the previous games and DLCs.  http://www.dragonagekeep.com

I know I've been using the keep for doing this in Inquistion as I've made the decisions in the earlier games recording them on the keep as well so Inquistion has them on record
