given that he can still be effectively one shot by the Templar assassin (of which there are far to many in threatening) from full barrier to dead in the blink of an eye, or full barrier /hp > sliver of life by a single charged shot from any ranged character I'd say he just isn't that strong in the first place, the second he takes damage he's basically dead on higher levels (unless you've promoted 50+ times on each class)
most casual players don't promote that much so if you nerf any of the chars they wont be able to compete, nor will any new players because you put in a nerf based on high promoted players, the learning curve in that event would be too steep for anyone that's not managed to perform 50+ promotions in each char

in essence the only reason why certain players cry like babies is because they finally figured out how to play a particular class after being carried by an aw there now upset that aw's are still carrying them in every match .....

Untrue, the reason why AW can survive so well on perilous is the due to the fact he can take a hail of arrows without promoting constitution stats up the Wazoo. Strength of spirits makes him even stronger against enemy dmg now with the patch. As long as barrier is generated through fade cloak/cl in a mob he is practically invincible. There's a reason why he is the most plays character because of his survivability against all factions compared to say rogues who are weapon and promotion dependent.

Probably never. And anyways it shouldn't matter to experienced players. An AW noob dies just as well as any other class, from what I've seen. If you're good enough at the game, you can steal AW kills with almost any kit and still be there to pick their drunk a--- up.

The best character to steal score and kills from an noob AW is the archer. Long shot, Mark of death ftw proceed to watch noob AW rage quit.

I've never run AW for the sake of topping the scoreboard.  It's simply my lack of faith in pugs to be able to complete an objective.  If someone "killsteals", as I hear people cry about so often, I really don't give a rat's ass.  I care only about completions.

Also, I've noticed that some of those who ask for nerfs on AW are using the reasoning that the game is trivialized by such an overpowered character...yet, these same people are the ones who cried for and / or are crying for nerfs on demon commander or templar assassins.  It doesn't make much sense to trivialize the game further by making enemies weaker and then cry about the game being too easy.

Things that are overpowered should be nerfed, and things that are too weak should be buffed.

He shouldn't be nerfed, in the games current state there isn't any justification to mitigate his barrier generating abilities without reducing his dmg from abilities like fade cloak and frost step thus effect all mage classes indirectly. but a lot of pugs have that competitive mindset due to the post game scores. It's already alienated a lot of players not because of the character per se but rather warriors not being able to maintain adequate guard at higher difficulties.

For balance and appeasement sake as to not alienate more of the small damp community, Bioware could look into adding medals/bonus points like dmg soaking, number of downs/revives into the scoreboard because right now it doesn't take into account those Intangibles that make a team get through a successful extraction.

If it is desired to nerf the AW through the fade cloak and fade step abilities, as you use in your example, they could make the changes to the abilities unique to the arcane warrior.

Anyway the arguments against balancing the game are getting really weird so I should probably just leave the thread before someone says something that gives me a seizure.

The nerf criers are the ones who always end up causing a game to become completely homogenized to the point that it's no longer fun. Perilous has been cleared since the beginning, before nerfs were implemented.  This leads one to the conclusion that it is and has always been 'doable'.  If you keep getting owned by templar assassins, perhaps you should increase your situational awareness and watch for the tell-tale little target star as he is walking around to gank you.Successfully downing Demon Commander on Perilous used to actually feel like an achievement in and of itself.  Now it's pathetic.   Nerf-Criers = Fun Police.

The thing is, the type of players you describe likely play on easy or normal in SP mode, cheat, or have very few promotions with any desire to get promotions in MP. The fun aspect of DAMP that I've found, is that you gradually get better through "hard work". You literally have to L2P. These people who call for constant nerfs to characters and baddies aren't interested in learning the game, they just react and get mad when they get punched down by DC or RTC. And they get equally mad when an AW wades through and steals all their kills.

I admit the last one irritated me for some time until I mastered my Ele. The point is, this group of people aren't interested in a challenge.

He kills too good. I want my team members to be weaker.

AW is making the game boring and pointless. Too many noob players abusing the AW to death which makes everything else irrelevent.  Why try to play hard or use any team work when there are AWs that will do all the work and breeze through perilous.  It all feels cheap and pointless.

I love it when people ask for nerfs to classes in Coop games. Especially insightful and thoughtful request of Devs when the game is a buggy turd achieving only one aspect of consistency - and that being that abilities across all classes and types of items are broken.

Bioware = Beware.

A groundswell by gamers to NOT pre-order and pre-purchase games needs to occur imo. It's the only way to force companies to deliver results before they get money.

Bioware's motto should be "Look - NO HANDS!!!"

If I had a penny for every time someone asked this...

Then you would have ten pennies?

Caltrops? It's not an ability. It's something to laugh at.

Sounds like an L2P issue.

They should buff (i mean fix) some armor passives/accessories before anything else. =)
