I see grapplers having an unfair advantage in this, depending on the rules.

true. Many Japanese Martial arts are tailor to fight other fighters in armor. and Brazilian Jujitsu is based off Judo and Datio Aikijutsu. so I do agree with you on that. But still have that type of armor is freaking cool.

I'd watch it.

Hell, I'd compete if I was given the chance, possible cracked ribs be damned

While the suit is cool and I like some of the new ideas being brought to the table, I still prefer the Armored Combat League. There is nothing like putting on chain mail and plate, getting into a arena and having a free for all between two teams with metal weapons.

So cool but I can see this being used in the wrong way in the future.

It's shock resistant, not bullet proof, and the suits are probably going to be regulated all to hell.

That said, I'd keep the suits on a chain and have an activation code.

Without the bloodshed it would be nowhere near as entertaining as it could be. Damn the lawyers, have participants sign a waiver and let heads roll.

I really hope this takes off. And that grappling doesn't end up taking over this competition if it does.

Its not the suit I'm worried about, its the people on this planet who have the capability and lack of a conscience to take this technology or gladiatorial games to a more extreme extent.

Having thought about this, I suspect the meta's going to involved knocking down one's opponent, mounting them, and then banging on their helmet until the requisite number of points are scored.

Or tap-outs.

Afraid people will move on from gladiatorial armor and foam weapons to no armor and full on injury infliction done for points and victory?

So in other words, MMA as it is today.
