It makes sense that Solas' cliffhanger would be wrapped up by means of a story DLC/expansion rather than taking place in DA4, because the issue is still fresh in our memories, thus being more appealing.

Also, considering Corypheus was first presented in a DLC and ended up being the main villain of DA:I, the possibility of Solas being a villain in the next DA game (after a DLC) could be feasible.

I don't think he'll be carried over to DA4, what he does might but not the character himself. What I wonder is when his DLC will be released, first so he's available for other post ending saves or last so they don't have to deal with the fallout?

My bet at the moment is that the last DLC will be "Wolf Hunt" where we catch up to Sola's right after he finishes preparations to destroy the Veil. Once we catch up, we have a philosophical discussion where he reveals everything and then destroys the Veil. We then judge him for his actions by killing, forgiving, or banishing.

Fast forward to DA4 which then takes place in TI as slave revolts begin as all of their slaves have now become mages as a result of the veil's destruction.

Oh god I hope they are not going to make dlc simply about him. He's a interesting guy but not that interesting.

I doubt his story will continue in DA4 because then it wouldn't make sense to play as a new PC and I really doubt we will play as the Inquisitor again. I would love for an expansion, but it seems Bioware is not making those anymore, but maybe a DLC like MOTA.

I'm sure bioware would focus the story in a way where it would support a new protagonist. Just look at the story of inquisition. From the surface it seems like a story fit for Hawke from DA2. And solas god of rebellion wants to help the elves. And what place has the most oppressed elves? Tevinter!

So if that was the case, there'd be plenty of opportunities to introduce a new protag.

I don't think DLC would be enough honestly. The guy deserves his own stage in the next game.

I'm hoping some of the sentinels come back with him or we meet Fellasan's "clan". A chance to learn more about ancient elves and Arlathan rather than it just being about Solas' attempt to save the world from itself.

I highly doubt the Dread Wolf came out of his 1000 sleep so he can bake pies with you and paint pictures. He has a goal and it will end with us back handing him to death.

I am more curious about the reckoning Flemeth talked about.

Flemeth says something like "A reckoning that will shake the very foundations of this earth/world" I think that qualifies for a new game.

Sola's wants to help the Elvhan, but he really doesn't view modern elves as kin (best example of this is if you make a comment about Briala helping his people he has no idea of what you are saying for a few seconds). So I doubt he would go to TI to free the elves that he doesn't even view as being "real."

I agree with this. I think it's possible that Solas' cliffhanger may carry over into the next game, but it will most likely be investigated in DA:I DLC first.

I doubt the next game will feature the Inquisitor as the PC again and since Solas is a love interest, they will do something about him in DLC first.

I think Mythal is pulling the strings and anticipating every outcome. I even believe that Solas is another pawn in her game for revenge.

I still cannot be sure if it was Solas who decided to absorb Flemeth, or Flemeth decided to take Solas body, just after she sais "I am sorry too"

@ Neoideo:  Solas absorbed Flemeth's power, but Flemeth gave her immortality to Morrigan via the Eluvian as per game developer notes about that scene.  She knew he came for her power, that she couldn't stop him and accepted her fate.  The exception being that she was allowed to give her immortality to Morrigan which means that Morrigan is Flemeth/Mythal's wildcard most likely.  DA:I also already set up tension between Morrigan and Solas, so we will see where that goes. :P

I think Solas will be a DLC and when we meet him again our Inquisitor will know what he's up to.  It doesn't make sense to show that scene giving players so much meta knowledge and not have Solas an antagonist  following through on his plans in some way the next time he appears.  He will probably set up DA4 the same way Anders set up the Mage/Templar war, but on a grander scale.

Both maybe? The Dread Wolf, and his plans, needs to be revealed to the rest of Thedas. I imagine the devs could manage that in a dlc and, in the process, set things up for what is about to go down in DA4. Sort of like what happened in the Legacy dlc with Cory.

I imagine the Inquisitor would need some closure with him via DLC, but I don't think that's the last we'll see of him in the series over all.

I'm hoping for an Awakening-type expansion that serves as a bridge between Inquisition and the next DA game.  If so, I'm sure we'll see Solas again, though as a good guy or bad, I don't know.

DLC, then obviously he'll be back in DA4, the secrets of the elven mythology is the background story that ties all the dragon age games together.

I think Solas has been set up to be a major character in the series going forward. I suspect that the Inquisitor's story with Solas will be resolved in a DLC, but that Solas will continue to feature in DA4 and beyond.

During my first playthrough, I found Solas either irritating (condescending) or boring. Once I learned the big reveal at the end, I did a second playthrough & paid more attention. Once I knew he was being slippery and dishonest it was MUCH more interesting--it was fun to spot the points along the way where he dodges questions, to think about when he might have been lying.

Plus, once I spent more time with him, I realized that he had a sense of humor, too.

So. Hmm. There's a big part of me that thinks, "Ugh, Solas," because that was my initial impression. But I bet that he could keep showing new sides of himself, and that would be interesting. I'd buy it--like, I believe he has all kinds of hidden dimensions. So I'd like to see more.

Here's hoping for DLC.  I'd like Solas to be a 'one and done', so DA4 can move on to new and still interesting parts of Thedas.

Unless my Inquisitor is the protagonist I'd want it in DLC.  I mean they could have a P-p-p-plot twist and have Solas kill the Inquisitor bringing chaos to Thedas.

Well i already punched Solas (with two inquisitors). But I would like to see DLC before DA 4. Frankly I feel Solas might take over the Flemeth role.
