I'd keep open most topics as fair game for debate, so long as it stays civil. I'd be even handed, handing out warnings to all trolls and rude people, instead of just some depending on what side of the political spectrum they fall on like happens now.

 

If I were forced to close threads i'd give a reason why instead of just saying " and we are done here" With no explanation.

I've been a mod before on a few rp sites I at least gave a few warnings. but discussing mod policies are against board rules. so I don't see this thread going well.

Ban the mods. Keep banning until I'm bored of it. Nuke the character and romance forum. Nuke romance threads. Find more threads to nuke.

I'd read the moderating guidelines and try to adhere to them as good as I can based on my definitions of a civilized discussion, so that by the end of the day, the responsible people may decide to welcome me to the moderator team for a longer time.

 

I would then go to the various moderator meetings, make friends, identify possible stepping stones and formulate my plan to gather support and slowly but surely undermining any potential opposition, until the end sees me with subtle but sure control over the entire moderating team, leaving me with enough headroom to create my own forum utopia.

I'd undelete all of my favourite threads, and take screenshots for posterity. The I'd probably delete them again, because I'm sure on some level, they must have been harmful to society.
