Now that the devs have built the engine to be Dragon Age friendly, can we now expect a new Dragon Age game in 2-3 years?
Will the next DA game release be quicker?

3 years is hardly quicker. That being said, DA2 was a 2 year development and while fun it had it's flaws (re-used assets).
So 3 years is a good timeframe for development

While I do want to see another game sooner rather than later I'd be okay with 2018 release. They've moved to a new engine and implemented a lot of new features in DA:I so it should be easier if they have something to build off (don't quote me on that, layman's opinion here). Then again I want as polished a game as possible so 4 years maybe instead of 2-3 or November 2018

Probably. My guess is that they'll spend somewhere between two and three years on DA4, so we'll get it somewhere between November 2016 and November 2017. Depends on how many new systems they want to build and how huge the world is going to be.

There is always the next Mass Effect to keep busy with in the mean time.

I think 3 years is kind of the standard for sequels. I would be very surprised and a little apprehensive if DA4 came out in less than 3 years, especially since they are building a whole new country for the next game.

Don't know when ME4 will release. It's good for me if it goes in this way:
2016: ME4
2017: new IP
2018: DA4

If EA follows suit with what it has done with other games 3 years is about right, assuming an expansion and/or a good deal of DLC/item packs for DAI.

Do you guys really want a fast dev? cant u wait? its much more important to have a solid Story/gameplay for me than a next game as soon as possible>.<
¨Do it like the devs of witcher 3 and good is!

The last time we got a quicker release, we got Dragon Age 2.
I'm perfectly fine with DA4 not being a thing until late 2017/early 2018. Especially since we'll get more Mass Effect in the mean time, plus probably something else.

Not the Witcher again, please! But i am thinking 3 years at the most. When you have a new established engine and lore. It shouldn't take more atleast.

As long as they take the time they need to make the game they want to make. EA has been doing good as of late allowing there developers more time to work on there projects and gathering more feedback from players so I hope this continues.

I agree with the posters who mentioned three years. If they took less time to work on the next game, those people who want DA4 as soon as possible would complain about the quality of the game and say that they should have taken more time. ![]()

Sometime in 2018 is my best estimate for the next DA. ME Next is probably slated for late next year.

Now a lot of the ground work on the engine has been done and they're more familiar with it hopefully DA4 and beyond will reap the benefits.

What new IP? Shadow Realms got cancelled. Unless they have something secret under their hat, all they have currently in the works is ME4 (and DAI DLC).

Nope, there's still the mysterious new IP being worked on in Edmonton, they showed one brief clip from at E3. The name hasn't been publicly revealed, but it's still in production.

Got a link? I have heard nothing of this and I would like to see what info exists for it.

Totally fine waiting for a proper/polished game. I just don't want it to be yet another inquisition game. I loved the concept, but lets advance the story and touch on some other aspects of Thedas. I'd love something focused on Tevinter.

Basically no info exists for it. It was packaged together with the Mass Effect presentation for E3 2014; all that was said was that BioWare Edmonton was working on it, and that it is completely new, a clean sheet, and a couple of other similar-sounding meaningless platitudes. Possibly the only comment that might mean something is "we want to take on more contemporary stories". You can watch the presentation yourself:
...and that's it.

Looks like it's in the initial stages development. Could be a while before it turns into anything.
