I feel like I'm literally at war with my time every now and then. Today is a great example: I'm off from work, HAHAH, so where am I? The same place I am always, at work. Which is usually where I get a lot of writing done in the dead moments.
But the ONE WEEK I take off? No, that's the week I have to come back in. Less of a complaint really than just to let you all know I AM getting to this entry today, sometime, and it will keep moving.

I really like how we hear about the "working vacations." It's not a vacation.

What's a vacation?

SO! The vorcha horde:
Basically zombies, but 28 days zombies...actually they still think somewhere in there. It's a bit of a problem because while they are bloodthirsty and wish to rip you apart and are fearless, they have sense enough to not bunch up so much that you can mow down whole slews of them holding down the trigger on a SAW or anything like that. You'll get two together, maybe 3 with a grenade, you'll stagger a few more, but they are spreading out, to converge on you only at the point that they'll get there. I wouldn't call it tactical brilliance either. More like enough sense to make it a problem for you.
That doesn't mean don't bother shooting. Shoot, shoot away. Kill many. There are, though, basically about a hundred of them, and yeah, not sticking around in the open is a real good idea. Like narf posted (or Jen, I'm sorry I forgot who and I'm not looking), to put this raging horde down takes more effort than usual too. Either head shots or enough damage to cause legs to fail. A bullet through the abdomen won't do it on these guys. Meaning fire will have to be concentrated, then moved, and concentrated again. You get the gist of it.
There are maybe 4-6 black clad snipers you spot. They are a problem of a different sort, requiring a steady, undisturbed shot to plink them off out of cover, and yet here comes a charging horde of vorchies. Some characters may be able to do it but it is at max range...we're talking a return sniper fire shot, or a Hail Mary and they'll just go down one at a time because they are very, very spread out.
A plan of defense or retreat is in order. Cover, a way to bottleneck the vorcha, a way to avoid the snipers, all that jazz. I leave it to you. Stuff will be happening along the way.

Let's just run them over with a grizzly.

^I've always wanted to build something like that.^
I'm thinking a M-97 Viper chassis, with a Ruger 10/22 barreled action on the inside.

The scene, though not immediately known to everyone in both grizzlies, are there are two black suited mercs with rocket launchers in the rocks up on either side of a valley the Grizzlies are passing through as they move out of the mining facility area. They are at the stage of reloading. Deal with them as you see fit, try to retreat or the bold might try to push the vehicles on through.

Sometimes the RP reads like Aria's speech in the Omega DLC, in regards to character positioning lol.

Chris slowly began to follow her...
I admit it's not well written but Chris left the others with Naomi.

Would anyone object to me writing this landing? I'm ready for some action up in here!
I'm not actually going to write it, but uh... *nudge nudge*

Oh, btw... Franks shuttle is still aboard the Medusa. It's had the name 'Frank'n'shuttle' written on the side by the hanger crew who had nothing better to do.

Noted for future reference! I'll have to go back and refresh myself on it's most recent appearance lol. All for the inevitable reunion... That's assuming Frank doesn't overdose any time soon. God help him if I get bored.
Anyways, back to this Stormhammer business.
On top of vorcha noming on everything, there's a buncha chodes shooting at us too, yeah?

Okay, the scene is as such, ifn' you are looking to do it.
Stormhammer, coming in on the Brigade's Kodiak, Liz is on the gun, blazing away for cover. You'd be landing at the far end of your wing, opposite where it connects to the rest of the base because that's where the bad stuff is happening. You'd land outside, because there is no landing pad and no way to get the shuttle in the base. Land close enough to the building and those inside can get out. Surely, there is a press coming of vorcha, some traitor mercs, and then the black clad folk. Fire is near and coming closer. You might have to wreck some non-vorcha enemies who are trying to cover that escape route for people inside.
It's all grey and rocky and you'll need a suit because it is freaking cold. Having said that, someone can cross the short distance under harsh exposure if you land close enough, since it will be a matter of a minute or two to get aboard. Your shuttle is pretty loaded: Capacity of 12, with 8 occupying now (since the twins are out). You won't find Reith or Vihaan right away, but can cover the landing until you get inside and see what's what. You know, after killing some bad folk.

Another thing to remember is that there is only a trace of an atmosphere so we're in full helmets. ...
And ... so are the vorcha.
Gravity is .32 g which makes running and throwing things interesting.
