I'll let you guys write some killing stuff because, you know, your characters should look awesome.

You can go back and hash out the details of exactly how your characters killed the people on the outside as referenced.

Inside it is like this:

You have that wing, a long hallway, relatively high ceilinged, with the bunk rooms lining the hallway up ahead a fair distance to where it connects to the hub (and all that area you walked through in the past).  Now the good guys have retreated to the butt end, the end facing the outside, where the emergency exit is and where you guys are now.  The 5 vorcha with Vihaan have not been affected by the gas which has seeped through the facility because, for whatever reason, they were able to slip on suits before they got hit by it (likely they had some warning relayed to them by Reith.  The two Brigade fighters with Vihaan are also on your side, betrayed by their former members.  Both are grunts, though, and wherever Koehler himself is cannot be determined.

Just becoming evident to the team is that the YMIR mech is actually manned and not so much a YMIR but what would be more like an Atlas.  It isn't developed by Cerberus, so doesn't look the same, but it is a similar idea.  More chunky, more Avatar marines then Atlas, but you get it.  Its' Reith's personal EFF You Up machine and he is fighting from it, repairs courtesy Vihaan.

Not evident on post but will be evident after entry, and you can write it if you want is Saba is with the vorcha and Vihaan.  She is heavily wounded, unable to fight, but she is conscious, gelled, and can be moved.

The enemy pressing forward will be the insane vorcha.  with the occasional traitor Brigade and/or black clad supporting with guns.  They do not have heavy weapons...yet, but are threatening enough as the maddening tide comes in.  At this point, it seems the vorcha do not attack either of their allies for whatever reason either, but you can try what you want with that, like Lauren's idea, whatever.  Feel free to have fun as that' what's happening today is you guys rescuing these guys.  You'll need to shoot stuff.  Don't take it further than a retreat just before embarking on the shuttle though, if you even get that far.  But feel free to have characters assess, try stuff, and make lots of hamburger.

Ha, what a bad ass.  You know there's a cigar hanging out of Reith's mouth while this is going down.

Less coffee mug and more cigar, I admit I have a thing for this guy:

Okay, so I didn't get to this today.  My fault, I'm sorry I loved me some Chasing Spectres stuff so that's where my attention went.  And I'll probably reply there today more.  Here, I will get to this.  I'm looking to fit it in with the other things I'm doing and I will.

You just hang in there if you like yourself some mercenary action with big guns.

Noooow I'm not one for science getting in the way of the fiction, that snow-free Alchera really brought me down, Jules, but couldn't Stormhammer just like, jump down?  Parasc is all low gravity and ****, right? Are we talkin' Looney Tunes distance falls here, or nah?

"And then, Kurik hopped over the edge."

Parasc is .32 Earth gravity.  So you can increase the distance of your jumps and runs and drops.  I'd say, call it 3 times average distance?  So in our little Stormhammer adventure, since the slope isn't quite a cliff, even though the distance would still kill a person doing the drop in one go (maybe something like 100-120 ft.) a smart person could kind of bound their way down it.  Well, controlled drop.  You don't want to bound right off the side.

Well, let's get down that slope, then...

The moon is .16 g. Look at how the astronauts walked on the moon in 1969 and in the other lunar landings. It will give you an idea. The planet we're on has only twice that gravity.

Saving Major Reith. This is a priority. Naleena will need to talk to him.

My neighbor was a chopper gunner in Vietnam. He was there in 68 during the Tet Offensive. That was one of their maneuvers I had Lauren do.

Hopefully she won't have to do any maneuvers like my grandpa in Vietnam.

Like almost getting thrown from a helicopter.

My dad says he got pretty screwed up after a mortar attack, or something.  Guess the helicopter was all like 'beep beep beep, aw ****, there's waaaay too many corpses on board for my shot-up ass to stay in the air' and the crew started chucking the dead out of the side. Poor grandpa must have been in pretty rough shape to be tossed in a pile with all the dead guys. Guess he managed to move or speak a little last minute so he ended up staying on board.

I've always wanted to know more about his time in Vietnam, but I knew not to ask, and he sure as hell didn't talk about it. All I know is, he was dealing with little bits of shrapnel once in awhile, and had issues related to the loads of defoliants used during the war. Grandma actually got a big settlement after his death that had something to do with it.

Aww, shucks.

Sorry that took so long.  It's been an unusually busy Saturday for me. Now I'm going to go drink and smoke until I vomit. Maybe I'll write some filler nonsense for CS in between heaves.

Yay, I finally posted again. There are probably many mistakes in the text but I actually didn't even have the time to write it.

And I also just wanted to take a break from stormhammer for some time to have more time for other things, so, smart as I am, I moved my characters out of the action but then I somehow ended up completely ignoring the story. Well, I can't change that now but I try to write more frequently in this story as well.

So expect posts from me in both stories for today.

Very nice.  It's fine.  Chris and Naomi beating the shuttle back to base leaves room for stuff Naomi will probably have a conniption over, like when people from Stormhammer have to come back to help them :)  I'll get to that later myself.  So this should be fun.

Casualties inbound.

I would like to thank Narf for his boss level post.  Basically he offered to make an entry as I was all busy and he did a smashing job!  I don't want to bottleneck the story, by the way and do want to free it up.  The idea was originally that people could take this over as writers, do a stint that would be a merc mission, the rest of us could go on.  This one, though of course I got us into and have been the block.  Thanks for narf for helping out in an awesome way!

Yes!  I'll get to this.  The Armali Speedway has me tied up a bit with my writing time :)
