Personality: Menos is a loner who often has problems with his cockiness and joking attitude, appearing to take nothing truly serious and often willing to crack a joke at someone elses expense. In truth however, Menos uses it as a shield to keep himself calm under pressure, as he tends to let his temper loose when not venting with his humor. Menos's anger issues can cause him to act rashly, an unusual trait for salarians, but particularly deadly when applied to exacting revenge or remembering grudges, which Menos does well. Menos doesn't tend to let insults go unchallenged, and while he won't throw the first punch per say, he likes to ensure he's the last one to throw the finishing blow, and that whoever he goes up against doesn't get a second chance to **** with him. He has a simple rule he follows, treat him right, and treat people he likes right, and you and him will get along fine. But mess with him, or his friends, and he'll be waiting with a sticky bomb and a silicon-carbide arrow with your name on it. Menos enjoys working with his hands a lot, and carries an old fashion deck of cards with him to keep himself busy, often learning slight of hand tricks, pretty hard when you only have three fingers. He also has a great interest in human entertainment, especially the classical era of their gaming and vid history.
Brief History: Menos was always little unusual for a salarian, even when he was a young tadpol learning from his matriarch how to behave in salarian society. While his brethren would prefer to use their technical skills and subtlety to accomplish goals; Menos was always more blunt and direct. When he was two, he was given a puzzle to solve, and rather than follow the directions in guiding an object out of a maze, Menos simply pried the puzzle toy open and extracted the ball, stating it was more effective than following the rules. This rebelious streak made him ill suited for normal academic teaching, however, Menos had a skill in preforming tasks as instructed just enough to pass, but without the coveted honors or accolades of his peers.
Menos preferred guns over technical skills, and directed his intellect and observational skills to judging distances and physics ratios, while also learning how to hack into programs more for fun than for study. As he graduated from high school at age 6, he found he liked to do things more pragmatically rather than with finesse, and was even not afraid to get in close to fight, even if he would prefer to do battle from afar. All these traits made him an unusual but potentially valuable member of the Special Task Group, as Menos showed the type of cut throat efficiency such stealth groups liked. Menos however was not a good fit for the organization, often changing the instructions his higher ups would give, or simply ignoring them, when he decided he had a better plan. His career ended when he was tasked with observing a drug peddling operation to trace red sand shipments to their owner, and instead Menos torched the warehouse with the drugs, and tortured the ring leader until he gave the names. His superior let his fist have words with Menos's face for that stunt, before discharging him from the STG.
Menos next tried to apply his talents with joining C-sec, serving on the force for just under a year before he got kicked for disobedience, and the questionable circumstance of how 2 criminals in his custody ended up shot in the back of his squadcar with no cameras catching what happened. If not for the fact that the two he killed were repeat offenders, and his chiefs current ethics violations against him keeping him from his full duties, Menos would have been rotting in jail. Instead, Menos turned to mercenary work, taking his skills to the highest bidder, which eventually wound him up in the service of the shadow broker. Menos worked for the broker for 3 years of his life, earning a reputation as a good code ****** and unorthodox info digger, ones who search for interesting information for the broker to sell. Menos however almost bit the big one after the broker found out he was selling some of his info on the side, and worse yet, giving some away to people he thought needed to use it more. One system maintenance later however, and an offer of amnesty as well as a call off of his bounty hunters and shadow broker hitmen was given to him, Menos refusing to rejoin the broker and setting out instead as a freelance.
The first to admit he made mistakes, Menos is looking for a good and honest crew to join. Offering his fine skills with tech, demolition, and of course, His impecable good looks and sniping skills, to anyone who can afford him. Its not strictly in credits however that he charges, but in deeds, watching like a hawk every move made to determine whether he sticks around or ditches the crew. After all, menos could join any of the big three with his skills, if all he cared about was money. But credits without creed is just not a life worth living to the salarian.
Other Notes: Menos is good at hacking through defense programs and gathering information from computer systems. But this isn;t Menos's passion. Menos likes to fight, be it hand to hand using martial arts or at range using his trusty sniper rifle "Chekhov", menos likes to show off his skills in physical more than technological ways. Menos also has a habit of naming inanimate objects, as well as trying to nickname people. He does not wish to stop this, and punching him only serves to encourage him to do it more.
