The webpage square, the volume bottom tiles etc are all gone. You have to hover at the top of the screen to get it to appear again, but I don't like it like this.
How can I undo this?

You can't. It's windows 8. I deliberately tries it's hardest to **** you over.
Open your browser in desktop mode.
Windows 8 can be made to behave, but you must assert your dominance over it first.

Try right clicking in the place you are hovering your mouse and see if you can check off a toolbar if it has an unchecked box.

Alternately, Right-Click Start->Control Panel->Appearance and Personalization->Taskbar and Navigation.
There should be a box that says "Auto-Hide Taskbar". Make sure it's unchecked.
Its unchecked. Its checked on 'lock taskbar'.
Solved.
I just clicked the button where you can minimize the window and make it full screen. I have no idea how I hid the task bar. Thanks anyway guys.

Does it at least buy me dinner first?

In MS OS, you buy first, then get f*cked all over.
Maybe try the DPRK Red Star OS, I hear there you get f*cked all over before you can buy.
To hell with Windows 8
