Because if Agents of SHIELD has it's own thread, then the better show deserves one as well.

While I have become a fan of Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter is so far the only show with a strong female lead that I actually like. Actually, I think it's the only one out there besides Outlander (never watched anything like Xena or Nikita). While the whole sexism angle could have been presented in a cheesy way, they actually pulled it off in a way that made me feel more sympathy for Peggy than I probably would have had. The 1940s sci-fi backdrop also really gives the show a nice atmosphere. It's a good example of a fictional show combining the historical with the extraordinary and the noir genre. It's also helps immensely that the characters, besides Carter herself, are well-written and engaging like the original Jarvis, JK Thompson, and Chief Dooley. The show is certainly off to a better start than Agents of SHIELD, although I would recommend both shows.

Yep, Agent Carter grabbed me more from the start than SHIELD did. Female lead, 40s setting was just more interesting. I think it deflated a bit at the end though.

I actually like that the show is content to be more of a slow burn; it takes its time to flesh out all of the key players. This is pretty useful for a show that's dealing with workplace sexism as explicitly as Agent Carter does; while we get a lot of overt display of sexist behavior, the number of characters defined entirely by sexism or their response to it is comparatively small. I do wish that the show would use a few less flashbacks, but speaking as someone who's never seen Agents of Shield (and honestly doesn't have that much interest, based on what I've heard about it), I've really enjoyed Agent Carter thus far.
