Overall me3 is enjoyable, not as enjoyable as me2, but still has its moments. The main bugbear i have is the controls, it is complete lunacy, LUNACY!!!! to have one button controlling so many actions. If any of the devs can say to me, that in the heat of a battle they ALWAYS used the 'one' button exactly as they wanted, i would accuse them of lying. its a complete ballsup. there are mods out where you can change it to bind the actions to other keys, but from what ive heard, if bioware finds out you have done this you get banned. how crazy is that, they should welcome this and incorporate it as an update, someone has done their work for them, were they too lazy to do it themselves ?. If me4 (if there is one) has the same control system, i will definitely NOT be buying it. pay heed bioware, your cutting your own throat leaving out an option to bind keys to your personal preference.
I liked mass effect 1 and 2 but 3

I'd go ME2 > ME1 = ME3
ME3 is overhated thanks to people overnitpicking it after that bad ending. I say that because of how ME2's plot being a mess but people ignore its problems and it had a good ending. Good ending = people not nitpicking the rest of the plot.

Well, in the beginning of Mass Effect, on Eden Prime, the first guy you see (if you do it) tells you that he sees our destruction. Then Mass Effect is about Shepard who is facing an unstoppable force that have harvested civilizations, even more advanced. Shepard warns the galaxy that the reapers are coming but no one listen. Mass Effect 1 and 2 is about delaying the reapers, not stopping them. In Mass Effect 1 and 2 Shepard fails. In Mass Effect 3 an unprepared galaxy is facing the reapers. So how could people think that it could end like an american movie with a happy end?
The tone of the game and the ending was perfect
I didn't want a happy ending, it just wouldn't fit the story
But I at least expected good writing

ME 2 is the reason why i fell in love with the series... ME1 cemented it... and well ME3 is definitely the upgraded version just dont like the last 10 mins (or less didnt really notice >.>)... but still loved it nonetheless... though the auto dialogue bugged me to no end :/

I liked the story and plot in ME 1 most. ME 2 was the weak point in my opinion storywise. Why do I have to die at the beginningm why do I keep working for Cerberus now and why can´t I turn the ship over to the Aliiance when I dock at the Citadel? The plan is that I recruit a dozen guys, attack the Collector homeworld with them and defeat them? Ok and what if it´s some kind of earthlike planet with billions of people on it? I can do nothing then, besides a quick raid and get out. Oh it´s a space station I can blow up. Ok, now it makes sense. And there was more focus on crew missions than the actual threat if you are a completist. Felt more like crew therapist than fighting the Collectors. ME 3 was a war story and it did that well. The atmosphere was there for me. Ok I didn´t like the ending at all and the longer film sequences were really annoying. the small ones were ok.
Villains: Saren>>TIM(Me 3 &2)>>Harbinger>>>>>uh well no one else besides TIM I would consider a crediblle villain in ME 3. If I could persuade the starkid to shoot himself I wouldn´t. It would be an insult to TIM and Saren. I don´t know who this Kai Leng dude is. There was an annoying guy with a mask hopping around who thought he played in a higher league than a random banshee on the street but I think he was a parody on the ninja genre.
I liked TIM but Cerberus got too over the top in ME 3. They have dreadnoughts and a whole fleet of cruisers now? What the .... and where was this fleet a few months ago when the Collectors showed up? Could we have used these awesome reverse engineering skills of yours to equip the fleet I don´t know off to attack the Collectors? Oh ok TIM, you didn´t knew that you had a fleet in ME 2 either.
The missions were best in ME 2, ME 3 used too many big multiplayer maps and stuff like the mission description didn´t update. I also felt more compelled to check around f I missed stuff. I half expected Tali to say "Com on Shep, let´s go. You are more addicted to salvaging than every quarian I´ve ever met."
What I really liked in ME 3 was that the world and the characters felt more alive. talking to each other, changing locations on the ship, hanging out somewhere when the ship docked at the Citadel. I really liked the Citadel DLC when you socialise with your crew and its not just about the mission. Oh and I have a shuttle pilot I can talk to and quite a few crew members have a few lines at least. The security check was dumb but I liked the two soldiers there talking to each other about stuff for example. ME 2 is the follow up with the loyalty missions. Ok I am the crew therapist but I get to know my crew a lot more.
I liked the Normandy in ME 2 the most. No stairs and this stupid elevator. Normandy in ME 3 was ok but all the half finished stuff, plastic sheets covering unfinished crewstations, the wiring and cables hanging around. It felt like they gutted my beautiful ship. And well the security check. ![]()
I liked the Citadel of ME 3 the most. Beautiful and alive and my whole squad is there too. After that the citadel in ME 1. Beautiful (considering its older) but a bit stale. The Zakera ward was a disappointment. I liked Illium and Omega though.
Gameplay was best in ME 3, ME 2 then ME 1. I still liked the ME 1 gameplay, it wasn´t bad but the few power levels and the unqiue powers for each class were better.

I have a hard time putting ME2 anywhere but last place because it was the start of the "I win" mechanic of the P/R system. I found ME1 to be very good at presenting the story of the universe/setting and the arc of the series. I really enjoyed the gameplay of ME1 but I can honestly say that Me2 was an improvement and Me3 was an improvement on ME2.
I found that the weakest stories were in ME2. The plot in ME2 was so basic that they had to make the entire game one big recruitment quest or rather two big recruitment quest. The first one to get the people on board and the second to convince professionals that his mission is worth it. Hey saving the galaxy isn't enough to 'focus' the professionals you recruit you have to solve their issues. This just doesn't make any sense. Me2 isn't a bad game and people like companions quests so it is no surprise it scores high but it isn't a very well written game. The suicide mission should NEVER have been able to have been a casualty free experience.
ME3 had far better stories but they are almost always cheapened by the "I win" button. So many of the scripted deaths in ME3 would have been 10 times better if you had to make a choice like you did in ME1.
The endings don't stack up in ME3 because every experience in ME2 and ME3 is of you killing reaper ass and suddenly you get to the end of ME3 and you are suppose to feel like this is a desperate gamble? our last hope? If so why didn't the mechanics and narrative in ME2 and ME3 make if feel that way? Why did I go from victory to victory at every turn? Post prologue in ME2 you can play the entire series with only no deaths but scripted ones. It is terrible writing all because of the 'I win' button. I honestly feel the endings would have resonated better if your choices in the game caused casualties in your crew. That you could fail a mission without getting a end game fail state. Where you couldn't save every race in the galaxy.
