For the quest to complete you gotta kill Ser Hidlebrandt, right? Right. Well can't do that when the bastard isn't there.

 

The quest mark is there but the camp site I'm guessing he's supposed to be hiding at is empty. I didn't do this quest my first play through so I'm not sure if this problem always persists or if it's just my luck this time around. I've tried just about everything I could: going out of the area then coming back, reloading, changing party members, but nothing.

 

So yeah throw anything at me, maybe I missed something and I'm just an idiot but any help is appreciated --- And playing on PS4 if that makes a difference.

Have you tried leaving and returning to the zone and, having Cassandra with you?

Cassandra is actually always in my party so I did the opposite, taking her out, to see if it did anything --

 

Sadly, didn't work either.

I had this glitch in one of my playthroughs.

What I did was...

 

 

*Go back to Skyhold

 

*Save your game (in a freshy)

 

*Restart

 

*Go back to the area. They should be there.

 

 

If not, reload not the save you created but an earlier save. Load, go to Skyhold then back to the location.

 

 

If neither of these work.

 

Try duct tape and kicking it.

The new save thing worked \o/ Bless your soul; he showed up and it was over rather quick considering how overleveled I probably am now, heh

 

I was so convinced I had to give up this time round; the fade rifts in the area work again too   

I contemplated the kicking, thankfully I didn't have to --
