Should have been called American Propaganda.

The original title was "Hollywood biopic absolves the subject of any and all controversy that may have surrounded the subject when they were alive".
Like every biographical movie to ever be made, ever.
It´s a movie about a man who kills a man who killed many men.

Should they have portrayed him as a bad guy? I don't get it. He was clearly a very patriotic individual so, it shouldn't be a surprise that his belief or love of America was portrayed in the film( if in fact he felt that way ). I certainly didn't see it as propaganda, it's hard to spin killing children( something that disgusts me ) as a positive thing.Should have been called American Propaganda.

Wasn't the dude a complete racist? Dunno why America's cinema promotes that stuff.
One of the worst Oscar nominated films I've ever seen, and I've seen about 90% of those nominated for Best Picture in the last 60 years.
Dude you see the bit on drunken peasents about this? clasic.
Wasn't the dude a complete racist? Dunno why America's cinema promotes that stuff.
Lier to i hear.
The Oscar movies this year are much worse than the previous year.
I find this movie much more interesting than 2013-14 oscar nominated movies:

They don't promote it, they ignore it.
Like I said:
"Hollywood biopic absolves the subject of any and all controversy that may have surrounded the subject when they were alive".
ihere that one was pretty good. like a WW2 Enemy mine.
It's a popcorn movie that will be forgotten in time.
However, the movie did point out the neglect and difficulty adjusting to civilian life our veterans suffer from, which kinda takes away a part of the "propaganda" aspect of it.
Overall I enjoyed it.
They don't promote it, they ignore it.
Well yeah, but I meant they promote it by ignoring its negatives and embracing it anyway.
I have a friend who's father is a racist and apparently his dad was all, "Yeah! Kill them *insensitive words*!" watching commercials or the film itself. Can't remember the details. Apparently he did the same for Zero Dark Thirty.
Its just...damn. Media sucks way too often. GOTTA EMBRACE THAT NEGATIVITY FOR DEM DOLLARS THO, RITE
So much hate in this thread.
Now I really want to watch this movie.
Haha, that's usually how it works.
I didn't saw the movie, but from some of the reviews I saw the protagonist isn't really glorified or anything. In fact, it's shown his job puts an toll on him and his inability to adapt back into civilian life. Kind of reminds of that movie about bomb specialists. What was it's name? I can't remember it.

The Hurt Locker.
I don't think the movie was good, but I think it's laughable that people consider any American military movie that portrays the American soldiers or their cause in a positive light to be propaganda.

You could use that definition to say that just about anything is propaganda.

Okay. What were they trying to mislead people about?
The fact that war is awful, not "heroic" and that there are always innocents & children caught in the crossfire

BLASPHEMY. I don't know how could you not possibly enjoy the brilliance of Nightcrawler, Or the creative genius of Birdman, Or the brilliant Whiplash. Most if not all of this year's academy awards nominees were just brilliant.
I haven't seen The Theory of Everything, Selma, The Imitation Game or American Sniper yet. But I have been wanting to watch both The Theory of Everything and The Imitation Game for quite a while now.

I heard there were no 360 noscopes.
So I didn't watch.
I don't like stuff that's unrealistic like that.
