I admit it. I haven't seen it. I also doubt I ever will. Despite the fact that I love Eastwood's directing and acting. (despite some of the heavy-handed "morals" of a couple of his more recent films)
This movie absolutely IS propaganda, in that it not only attempts to sway the viewer to pity soldiers, and 'Murican policy makers but also assumes that the audience is going to go along with the Hyper- patriotism & Xenophobia which is often an underlying theme in American war films.
Also, with the political climate in the US and the world, can we PLEASE stop eating up every morsel the media serves us? Can we try to think critically and honestly about what our role in the world community should be? Perhaps make up our OWN minds once in a while about important issues rather than jumping on band-wagons or voting for who we think "the Pope would vote for"?

Agreed that critical thinking is needed, and one should gather news from varied sources. But since I do these things myself, it is doubtful that this film is propaganda, as reviews remain conflicted on this point. And I personally question the sources calling it such.
Eastwood appears to have made an entertaining anti-war film (ie; true soldiers do not want war), and has a history of other like films. Like yourself, I have chosen not to see it, but more so that I wish to avoid the strong language and depressing mood of the film based on other past works like it.
May re-watch Kelly's Heroes instead....
