I'm hoping to pick up the Infinity Gauntlet book, along with some Flash comics and the first issue of the new Spider-Gwen series.

This is my favorite series. I hope DC doesn't incorporate it into the mainstream universe.
Cinderella is a huge badass in Fables.

I stopped reading comics back when "the New 52" started up, mainly because I was sick and tired of the reboots and this one went so far as to absorb the Wildstorm universe into DC. I used to be really into them though... but nothing lasts forever.
I guess the last good ones I read were Stormwatch and the Authority before Wildstorm Comics went under (though the quality was going a bit downhill in the later days)... Beyond that, I used to like Astro City a lot... and Kurt Busiek's run on Avengers. Not just Busiek though... Avengers usually had really good writers behind their title. Etc... tbh I read a ton of comics back in the day. Probably too may to list here.
This thread is probably about contemporary titles, but if anyone is interested in good back issues, the Astro City TPBs are generally quite good. They aren't mature content titles like the Wildstorm stuff so I don't mind recommending them.

comics so much. I have many fuzzy memories of reading them in my best friend's garage or in my dad's hidden comic room (more on that later)

My favourite comics are definitely the Thorgal ones.

Also really loving Ravine. I mean, I think there's only 3 of them out or something so I can't really vouch for the story -yet-, but the drawings omg.... I am in love.

Yep.
Both American and Japanese comics (aka Manga.)
My favourite is Berserk.
Has some of the best art I've ever seen.
They're not spoilerish images but I don't want anyone currently reading it to see them.
Cos it's better just to get caught off guard by how damn good they are.

lol... I hope the artist is well paid for putting that much effort into a comic book. I can't say I've every seen that kind of detail in one before... well, maybe could think of something if I really tried or even find something if I were to rummage through my old boxes, but that's impressive work nonetheless.

Yeah he's successful.
Lazy as f*ck though.
Last update of Berserk was 4 months ago.
He's gone years on hiatus before.
And it is lazy.
See this?
It's released weekly.
Oda's work is really good too and it's weekly jump.
Maybe not as detailed as Berserk.
But Miura could easily do it monthly.
But being an artist is hard.
Don't know how American comics work with release schedules and stuff but I read most of my Japanese comics online (I buy them too.)
Also, Vagabond has amazing art! (Another Japanese comic.) My favourite American comics would be TWD and Fables, but that's because I haven't read any other.

Know any good American comics that aren't Superhero ones?

There's Fables and The Walking Dead, as you've mentioned. Also, most every weekly serialized comic strip doesn't feature superheroes, if we're counting those in the same vein as comic books or manga. Strictly speaking, Howard the Duck (by Marvel) isn't a superhero comic as much as it's surreal social satire, although many Marvel heroes do appear. There are also the Aliens vs. Predator comics by Dark Horse, which obviously feature the titular creatures, as well as the various horror crossover comics, such as Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash (Ash from The Evil dead), and Freddy vs. Jason vs. Leatherface (from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre).
I'm sure there are more, these are just what I remember from the top of my head.

Gonna get into Watchmen (I know, they're heroes... but not.)
Heard the comics are great.
Never watched the films, but who cares, right?

I seem to remember I read somewhere it was. Which is why it takes like aages for a new one to come out. (As I said, only 3 so far). But yeah, i'd have to look it up to be sure.

The book is better than the movie, but the movie is quite good in its own right. It's easily the most accurate adaptation of anything made into a movie, that's for sure. There's only 1 glaring change to the overarching plot. Most of the dialogue in the movie is straight-up lifted from the book, and Rorschach's journal entries are all quoted verbatim. The movie also has the better costume for Nite Owl. His clothing is goofy and kind of dumb in the book, but he has a pretty cool outfit in the film.
