Yeah he's successful.

Lazy as f*ck though.

Last update of Berserk was 4 months ago.

He's gone years on hiatus before.

And it is lazy.

See this?

Spoiler

It's released weekly.

Oda's work is really good too and it's weekly jump.

Maybe not as detailed as Berserk.

But Miura could easily do it monthly.

But being an artist is hard.

Don't know how American comics work with release schedules and stuff but I read most of my Japanese comics online (I buy them too.)

Also, Vagabond has amazing art! (Another Japanese comic.) My favourite American comics would be TWD and Fables, but that's because I haven't read any other.

Spoiler

^ Vagabond

Know any good American comics that aren't Superhero ones?

Hm... Besides Archie Comics, I can't really think of any.  Superheroes are mainly what I was into.  Even when I crossed over to manga for a while it was just the action titles I went for, like Blade of the Immortal and Ranma 1/2. And I don't know anything about the Archie stories printed in the last 10-15 years... I heard some of them are a bit... out there.

Actually, now that I think about it, Astro City is technically about the normal citizens in a city that has a ton of superheroes, and usually only touches on the lives of the heroes themselves... so it's kind of unique in many ways, since the heroes aren't normally the focus.  And when they are, it's more about their lives than their fights.  However, if you simply do not like superheroes at all, this probably won't be something you'd enjoy.

As far as release schedules go, American comics are usually monthly, but some of them are weekly... weekly titles are kind of rare though, and usually those are special events, like the old "52" weekly series from DC.  1 year of weekly titles with artists and writers from across the company featuring pretty much every character in their lineup... it wasn't a bad idea, but you get burnt out when they do that too often, especially since they don't normally drop the price per issue by much.

Gonna get into Watchmen (I know, they're heroes... but not.)

Heard the comics are great.

Never watched the films, but who cares, right?

Yes, please do.  ^_^  I'm sure you can find a trade paperback of the original maxi-series easily.

Back in the day I mainly used to read a lot of X-Men, Wolverine, Batman, Spider-Man, Justice League etc. Today I'm pretty much over most of the ongoing series from the big 2 (Marvel/DC). There are a hell of a lot of really interesting and entertaining comics to read outside of those, and after a few years of not reading any comics at all I started to get back into the medium and tried new things. There's stuff like Fables, Y: The Last Man, Transmetropolitan, Astro City... just tons of cool stories.

I'd recommend Watchmen to everyone even remotely interested in superheroes or just comics in general, it's just really damn good!

Some of the current titles I'm into right now would be:

I used to have a big ole stack of em in my teens. Star Trek, The Tick, with other Odds N' Ends.

I check Humble Bundle every once in a while for Comic Deals and grabbed a few.

Injustice Gods Among Us is the best title DC is putting out right now.

Despite being a tie-in to a Fighting Game.

Pretty much all I read now from DC since All-Star Western got canned.

And I haven't gone back to Marvel since the Marvel Zombies invaded A Christmas Carol for literally no reason (I really hope Ultron removes their filth from the Multiverse in the new Secret War).

Also the Megaman Comics are fantastic.

I am looking forward to the Ms. Marvel (or Captain Marvel, but Carol Danvers is the center character) movie. I never invested too much into Ms. Marvel, but she's a badass in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

A good way to find comics that I've been using is looking at the list of award winners for best series: http://en.wikipedia....ntinuing_Series

I've read about half of 'em so far and there hasn't yet been one I haven't liked.

Mainly read Graphic Novels and TPB. Normal comic books that I like cost way too much for me.
