Krem was born a woman that identifies as a man, so does that mean that Krem prefers to be romantic with women or men? I don't know Krem says anything about it in the game. Cool character though.

A person's gender identity doesn't affect one's sexual orientation.

 

Krem could either be gay or straight or bi or pan or asexual. Only the Maker (BW) can really say.

I have a vague recollection of Bull saying he's interested in women. Something about getting a present for (or helping him with) a girl he's sweet on. Maybe during the intro for the Iron Bull back on the Storm Coast, I can't remember.

Krem's sexual orientation hasn't been defined, I think.  He could be gay (attracted to men), straight (attracted to women), or bisexual (or anything else in between, I suppose).  I've also heard a rumor that Bull mentions a tavern girl that Krem is interested in, but I've never seen footage of that or heard it in my own game, so i'm not sure if it's real or a rumor that just got spread around.  Just like snackrat said, if so, that would indicate that he's either straight or bisexual. 

 

And, given that he doesn't make it out of the game alive for a lot of players, I suspect that we'll never really know the answer to this question.

He always makes it out alive in my game. No way am I not saving him. But yeah, I expect that will be the last we see of him, more's the pity.

You get the Masterwork Archon Staff from "Track Spies in Vyrantium", one of a series of wartable quests from the Qunari, which are said to have a dramatic impact on Qunari society if you succeed with the quests.

Not saving the chargers gets you a tier 3 staff schematic and extra war table missions.  It also changes Iron Bulls player card.

Only that you can speak to Krem in the tavern afterwards.

 

Ironically Iron Bulls player card also is more depressing should you actually save the Chargers.  In my opinion anyway.

 

edit - there is a divergent cutscene of course once you speak with IB after that mission but otherwise no.

There are a lot of men that I'm not attracted to.  Doesn't make me a bigot.  Any more than a straight guy not being attracted to every woman doesn't make him a bigot either.

The only thing bad about Krem is the writing where you learn he is a "he". The conversation really doesn't seem to allude to him being born as a female but living as a man. He makes some comment about Bull's pillowy man bosoms and then you get to ask about his gender... what?

Krem was born a man with women parts. Sorry to correct you OP. Trans people don't feel like they were born with the sex they were assigned with. They feel the opposite of what they were born with. So if I always felt like a man and was born with a vagina, I wouldn't consider myself born as a woman but as a man with women parts. It's how it works. Personally, I'm cismale and gender identity and sexual identity are two different things.

Edit: Cisgender is the antonym of Transgender, which means, that you identify with your born gender.

Krem's orientation isn't known in game. There are a couple of ambiguous remarks that could be interpreted as him being straight and, if you get the banter w/ Bull and Cole another that could be interpreted as Krem being bi or pan but, it's very ambiguous and subtle so, it remains unknown and, up to each of us to decide for ourselves.
