My main (Kazmius) thought of the inquisition as a way to see the world and not have to stick to his clan for the rest of his life as a future keeper.

I'm sure he still had love for his old clan but In a way, the inquisition was his new clan and he defended his clan members fiercely.

She thought it to be a good way to fix things, help people and change the world.

She also hopes she'll never cross the line where she becomes corrupted herself, even thought she thinks it's a useless wish, as all organizations are bound to corruption at one point or another, but she hopes she'll be wise enough to disband it before that happens.

Mine accepts the fact that she has this thing on her hand that puts her in a position to lead the Inquisition so she is trying to do the very best that she can. But this isn't what she wants to do or plans to do indefinitely.

Of my Inquisitors so far:

Iaris Lavellan: "Wow. They actually respect me. Maybe I can use this to change the world for the better."

Lysse Cadash: "Wait, so you're going to give me my own quarters that make the Orzammar palace look like a hovel? AND my own kitchen staff? Ha, sure, I'll be your chosen one. Sign me up!"

Sansa Trevellan: As a circle mage she was used to having things decided for her. She never had strong opinions about being in a circle and saw the pros/cons. When brought to the inquisition she enjoyed the change and knew the import regarding its success. She figured she'd continue with the Inquisition until it felt time to end it. While not a bad person, she was nobility and made questionable decisions using the inquisition's influence. Ex: Making Servis a smuggler.

"Corypheus must be stopped."

Demona Addar: Coming from a mercenary group, her moral code was rather loose. When power was practically handed to her she just went with it. She accepted being the Herald of Andraste as well as Inquisitor without any fuss even though she didn't even believe in the Maker. She happily accepted the role with no plans to end the inquisition anytime soon even with Corypheus dead.

"I'll do it for my own power."

Nirvana Lavellan: All she wanted was to return to the forests with her clan, yet couldn't ignore the breach/Corypheus. She didn't want to be Inquisitor but had to do it. She refused to let the power corrupt her and stuck to a strong set of ideals; seeing how easily the inquisition could lose its way with some of its people already corrupt (Leliana). Once it was over and with Solas abandoning her she wanted to simply to get away from the inquisition, its politics (Viviene for example was the only companion she didn't like until learning of Blackwall's lie), the shemlen (even though being treated better than practically every elf ever), and return to her old life where she belonged.

"I'll do it because it's right."

Kamaria Adaar: When do I get to take this darkspawn douche down so my mouthy elf and I can get out of here? Kam is over it. She didn't want it and can't wait to be done with it.

Alcina Cadash: Nobody tries to tear my world apart and gets away with it. Now when is this going to be over so my Bull and I can get out of here? She doesn't like when bad people do bad things to good people so she just cares about kicking butt then getting back to her life. The Inquisition can do whatever it wants once she's gone as long as they don't start hurting undeserving people. If they do, she'll toss them into a rift.

Ryal Trev: Look at me now family! Tell me my dagger fascination & lockpicking hobby will never amount to anything. I have a chance to really make a good difference in the world and I will. The Inquisition is her chance to make some changes in the world that she hopes will be good for the majority of the land.

Cenise Lavellan: She is ready to help everyone that she can but she's getting used to the idea that an elf has all this power. Being in and becoming leader of the Inquisition has hardened her a bit. Her Inquisition isn't going anywhere anytime soon....

Liam Trev: All he knows is that this beautiful warrior just told a Chantry guy to back off because the Inquisition is here now. He feels like a deer in headlights about it all.

Teryn Cadash never accepted being "The Herald" but he relished in being the leader of the Inquisition. Whether it was mingling with nobility or cutting through Venatori he couldn't be happier, plus he got to meet the love of his life in Cassandra he's in it for the long haul.

She thought of it as a means to an end,an opportunity to bring change and prove some things to the rest of Thedas. She never believed that she was the herald of Andraste and felt relieved, when she realised that the orb was responsible for the anchor,as well as her actions.
Corypheus was but a mere nuisance to her, especially after Haven, when she learned about his motives and discovered his weaknesses.
After Solas revealed that the orb he carried was elvhen, she was truly intrigued.
She never offered help to the opportunists who viewed her as a way to advanced their position, unless she had something to earn in return.
She did come to respect the inquisition and it's members though,as well as every single person that fights for them.Mainly because they're willing to work together and fight for something they believe in,be it Andraste and her "chosen" or peace and order.

Revas of Clan Lavellan thought it was a means to an end. The clan was his family, while the Inquisition was full of strangers who never bothered to understand him, and who associated him with a religion that he found morally abhorrent.

The Inquisition was a tool to support mage autonomy, deconstruct the Templar Order, and help his Orlesian brethren, but it was nothing more than a tool.

He wanted to tear down both the Chantry and Orlais and then destroy the Inquisition. Only to find out that was not possible. He then proceeded to become a bitter drunk, with a leased room in the Pearl.

Suspicious and Wary at first, Then he made it his, thus did he desire to push for the political and military advancement of his organization.

Is there any chance I can get this damn thing off my hand and get back to my clan leaving the humans to wipe each other out?? But for this "THING" we Dalish could just sit back and watch the humans destroy each other, much as they destroyed us! ****! (Darn!) This, whatever it is, threatens us too, so we'd better give a hand as we did for the last Blight and the one before that where one of our guys killed the Archdemon

As Solas agrees, "Sooner or later the Humans will get round to blaming all this on us anyway!"

Elfquisitor. Upon being conscripted:

3811055786_b51d292cde.jpg

"Are these fruitbat shemlen for real?  Oh well, evil needs to be fought."

After the cringe-worthy sing-along and talking with the people at skyhold:

headdesk.jpg

"Creators help me, they are being serious. And they are the only ones willing to fight the big bad."

I headcanoned that Lady Lavellan continues to endure the necessary evil of being the head of the lunatics of the inquisition mainly due excessive amounts of booze and Josie :P
