I really don't think Mythal/Flemeth ' absorbs ' Solas or whatsoever.
Otherwise, you are saying to me that it's Flemeth who kissed my Inquisitor and than took off his arm ? Hm. Interesting.

Wasn't it confirmed by a dev that Flemeth does die?

No. Nothing was conformed or denied.

Only a dev note, But they have also said that it can be thrown out if they wished to change the plot.
The thing is, for those of us who played DAO so many times we still remember this far back, Flemeth lets the Warden kill her, she had another copy of herself in an amulet so it was no big deal. So let's assume, and I think it's true, that she let Solas kill her, so what? She lets people kill her, she doesn't stay dead (even Solas mentioned that in the DLC, about how Flemeth is 'hard to kill') , and really, think about it, Flemeth doesn't want to die, that was made quite clear in the scene with her and Morrigan and the Inquisitor, she's out for revenge, revenge on who we don't exactly know, but revenge on somebody. Listen to what they said in that ending scene, Solas said I'm sorry, Flemeth said I'm sorry too, we all know what that means. This was after she criticized him earlier in the scene for giving Cory his orb. She's not real happy with him right now, Solas looked and sounded so pathetic in that scene, honestly he looked like a child begging his mother for forgiveness after doing something bad, she knew what he had done and she didn't like it, so she's certainly not sacrificing her life to help him, she's setting him up is what she's doing, she's giving him what he wants, but at the same time she's going to use what he's doing against him, to further her own goals. That's what 'I'm sorry too' means, it means you think you're doing something to me, but I know more than you do and you're not going to like it. She knows what he's planning, even better than we know what he's planning, and she knows that he's going to fail. Probably whatever he's doing is going to end up not only failing, but helping her achieve her own plan, in a way that he's not going to like one bit. Of course what her plan actually is, that's still quite the mystery, all we know is that Morrigan is involved in some way. Here's hoping that in DA4 we'll finally learn what it is, that would certainly be mighty cool
.
The orb, the ball of power, is now useless. Fen'harel says someone has to pay the price (of power I assume), but HE is needed by the people. Ergo, someone ELSE needs to pay the price. And that someone else is Flemeth. They aren't enemies; they are teammates looking out for the welfare of the elves and presumably some restoration of the Elvhen. Mythal body-hops because her original body was killed thousands of years ago. As far as we know, Fen'harel was never killed. With Mythal's spirit come her powers, which she gave to Flemeth. Fen'harel took her powers because he thinks his being alive is necessary to accomplish his and Mythal's plan. So Flemeth the body died, and Mythal the elven goddess still exists in some form. Even though Flemeth the body is dead, Mythal the goddess can still be a part of helping the Elvhen, via Fen'harel's use of her powers.
Plus, if that whole body-snatching of Morrigan thing from DA:O was true, then Mythal needs years to prep a body for her takeover. Fen'harel surprised her. He came to her lair for the purpose of taking her power.
I interpret the "I'm sorry" "I'm sorry too" as: "I'm sorry you can't be at my side to see this through, but I have to sacrifice you." and "I'm sorry I won't be able to be there either." It's regret, not "muahaha, now I'm going to stab you in the back!" She gives him a motherly stroke of the cheek then gasps as her power is suddenly ripped from her.
She's the one with the surprised reaction, not him. If she was taking him over, he would have done something like recoil and fall down. Instead, he remains smoothly in control of himself the entire time, catching her body and gently laying it down. I have faith in the artists that the most obvious conclusion is the correct one.
And yet ..... a moment before the newly revealed Dread Wolf's arrival, we clearly saw Flemeth/Mythal "tinkering" with the active eluvian. What she placed within it, perhaps in a place of safety, will be the key to truly understanding this iconic franchise event.

After countless times of watching this scene during the past months and every time seeing something new into it, I have also now come to agree with you totally.
Mythal is inside Flemeth. So the power Flemeth has is just Mythal's. Mythal is the only thing keeping Flemeth alive, because Flemeth is not an immortal being, she was just a normal woman and you can see that her body is old and needs to be replaced (cough Morrigan cough).
Basically Solas comes to tell Flemeth that his plan of retrieving the orb didn't work. He should pay the price but he is needed. Solas doesn't have his power back. So I don't think he could forcefully take her soul out even if he wanted, like Flemeth did to Kieran. And he looks rather submissive, not hostile. Plus a soul is not forced upon the unwilling but it does FORCE on someone who is willing, and he is willing to carry on their plan of revenge.
He (Fen'Harel) is sorry that the only way he now has to get "power" back is to take hers.
She (Mythal) is sorry as well because she won't be at his side anymore.
Then Mythal's soul body-hops to Solas. What people see as Flemeth being "surprised" is not really her being surprised, it's just her humanly dying breath. Imagine if if you were breathing and then suddenly your body turns off. Her spine arches cause Mythal is jumping out. It's like unplugging something and power goes off.
Flemeth's body does not become stone.. it actually becomes black, like something that is being dried up..cause it was long dead and without the soul that was keeping it "functional" it can't survive. so Flemeth imho is long dead.. why would a human survive that long?
And Mythal just jumps into Solas' body and immediately restores power into him so his eyes light up...While he gently grabs Flemeth's body to lay it down.
Which makes me think something else also.. since Fen'Harel's power couldn't be restored without the orb and the power inside Solas is actually Mythal's power, it means the whole "petrifying people with mind power" was actually Mythal's power, not Fen'Harel's?
Cause he always says she was the best of them all.. he always claims he wasn't that powerful/goldlike.
What do people think? I'd like to hear if people agree/disagree with my rumblings ![]()
