Ok the crafting system aka the only good thing in this greatest error of mankind called Inquisition...

It is good, it made me play this game, well it might as well be promoted to godhood since it made me play Inquisition

But here is how it could be even better:

1 - It is stupid to tie stats to appearance (3D model of the armors)
Why? Well IF this game was really immersive than ok. But iron Bull wearing straps can have more armor than another person in full plate armor. So immersion is not a factor. So well, yeah, you screwd (again) in not letting us choose the appearance of the armors we craft.

2 - It is stupid to tie colors to materials
Yeah you will soon enough I hope let as change materials without changing stats, but each material could have different colors. Well I guess they are textures and perhaps the engine does not allow such easy tinting of these textures and having multiple textures of each material would not be an option, still, poor choice

3 - Fade touched should be made through quest/power/skill whatever not found
You have an absolutely good excuse for relating crafting to plot with your fade-touched-green-hand, you could say that your magic green hand can incorporate a material with fade properties of that material making them magic. Amazing isn't it? Well you could make a quest or something like that for us to transform regular materials in fade touched ones. No, I'm not complaining about their rarity, I grind, I get dozens of fade touched, the question is that could be meaningful

4 - Masterwork chance is a joke

Yes, it is. I'm not laughing. Try different jokes next time.

5 - More REAL variation

You have few armor models, I get it, each character have a cloth style and so does the Inquisitior (too bad we don't choose it). But not only armor models are limited but also the crafting materials are VERY limited. They could have more interesting effects. Also variety was spent with tiers, if stats scaled with weapon/armor level (like DA2 runes) we could have more variation with even less materials (not that I would want less materials)

6 - Crafting skills

I would love to craft things myself. Well I pretend I do, but I would like if the game let me be crafter myself, I mean, officially. Also I'd be happy to spend points in this awesome art of crating to differentiate myself from the filthy unworthy demibeings that do not craft.

I could go on but I'm too lazy for that. Crafting system is the best in the series but it could be a lot better. Since you are going to destroy the franchise even more in DA4 you could at least make the crafting better, I could ignore the awful game again and just craft. I like dressing my character in beautiful clothes, DAI is basically a fashion game that makes me spend 24 hours to farm sullevin and craft my beautiful armors so make this only good thing better.

What I would really like is this: salvage an existing items to get its schematic. There are weapons that look awesome - like the honor guard sword - but have near useless stats, while the crafted items all look very samey.

It would be interesting. A lot. And it would make sense, since they could say dagna dissasembled the equiment completely to learn how to make one. Or Harrit, whatever. But it seems like that they believe that it makes more sense to explore ruins and find armor schematics inside a pot... well... go figure. Perhaps people of the past used tier 3 schematics as napkins and threw them in the trash so that we could find them centuries later.

At least this issue is addressed in next patch with addition of blackmarket. May be there will some other improvements, i.e. ways to obtain schematics.
