Let's not have a "remove the gay" button.  <_<

To be fair (or equally unfair) he did have a "remove the straight" button too.

This isn't even a hypothetical; the inclusion of gay characters in Bioware titles is a thing that has happened, and it has had no measurable negative impact on sales. That's a fact.

Hell, ME3, with Cortez, Traynor and bisexual Kaiden, far outsold ME2 and it entirely straight (apart from Kelly Chambers for FemShep) romances.

Non-gay content...hmmm. And what constitutes gay content? And are you certain you know NO gay people at your job?

It's not my business and even if I knew they were gay it wouldn't bother me, unless my job involved some kind of physical contact with that person.

There are plenty of men and women who are gay and you would never know it. But here's the thing, under no circumstances are you required to see gay content. Dorian's quest only comes up if you keep talking to him about it, and I'm more than reasonably sure by that point, he's made it clear he's into men. For the sake of the argument, you can do his quest and still not see any "gay stuff" because you don't have to romance him. Or Bull. All the "gay stuff" is locked until you initiate the heart-symbol responses in the dialogue.

Even if that were the case, the fact that OP is suggesting that the game erase someone's sexuality (gay/straight/bi/whatever) is what we're calling out in and of itself. For instance, if I didn't like Dwarves, would I get an option in the character creator to turn all the Dwarves into Elves? No, because that's not the story they want to tell.

* There is a scene in DAI that I'd rather not see involving femshep voice actor. I hope people don't hate me for saying this, but that scene was just weird and it broke immersion. I also don't like the fact that they use a female voice actor in that scenario, IMO it's not natural and made the scene weird.

* There are only two females in the entire DAI game, Leliana & Morrigan. Rest of the females having weird shaved heads and odd faces broke immersion.

I just don't like anything gay and would rather not see it in game. Of course girl on girl is just fine with me.

This is pointless, stupid and mildly offensive. Gaider and other developers and writers have made it quite clear that they aren't going to sanitize the game of its LBGT content just so that some people with curiously specific issues with such content are happy. The same way that they aren't going to toggle a only Caucasian option or a only blonds option. It is a waste of resources and would garner far more negative attention then people like the OP can muster.

It ain't gonna happen.

You're completely wrong.  The toggle option would allow Bioware to add ten times more gay content without shocking straight males, since straight males would be able to toggle it off.  David Gaider would be free to share his mind and thoughts with his gay fans.  Imagine David Gaider not being held down by any concern for what straight people want. He could write whatever he wanted and you'd get to enjoy it.

Hell, ME3, with Cortez, Traynor and bisexual Kaiden, far outsold ME2 and it entirely straight (apart from Kelly Chambers for FemShep) romances.

If you want me to be honest, I did not like any scene with Cortez.  When he first mentioned something about his husband it broke immersion for me. I honestly thought it was a bug at first.  I'd much rather not see that and toggle it off.

BUT... You can't hate me for being honest. I'll deal with it if I have to, just to make you guys happy, but I don't like seeing that stuff.

If anything, one would logically assume that fair inclusion of homosexual characters in their games would lead to an increase in sales, because it would be taken as a sign of progression.

I know parents who didn't want their kids playing Inquisition because of the gay content.  These parents will be politically correct in public, but inside the home they don't want their kids being exposed.

OP, let me ask you a very simple question: Why? Why is this necessary?

For me it makes me uncomfortable and breaks immersion, i'd rather not see it.

There is a far simpler solution to the OP's problem.

ALLOW THE GAME TO BE MODDABLE. I wouldn't even be on this forum if I could mod the game.

I just don't get why I have to deal with things that make me uncomfortable? Everyone else might support it, but that doesn't mean I should do any introspection, because I don't have prejudices. I just would rather gays not exist in my romances. Is that so hard?

I'm not homophobic, I just don't like when gay people get in my way.

Then EA shouldn't be surprised when their game doesn't sell 20 million copies.

Spoiler alert 1: Skyrim featured gay marriage.

Spoiler alert 2: Skyrim totally sold 20 million copies.

I seriously think it's so he can use the game to live out some adolescent "I can bang any woman I want" fantasy.

To which I can only say, have you heard about this thing called porn?

He needed that to play the victim card when people called him on it.

All the negativitly aside, having an option for sexual preference, when creating your main character is a good thing for Bioware because they would be ahead of the pack, very modern, and each individual can play DAI or DA4 through with that choice, that effects their game play and with party characters.

It doesn't exclude straight people for a gay play through.

It doesn't exclude gay people for a straight play through.

The main characters in the game would be based more on your choice.

Just a video game with more choice.

A gay gamer can't tell others what is acceptable in their play through but a straight gamer can't tell others what is acceptable in their play through either.

Each individual has their own choice and play through gaming experiences.

It's an rpg, choice and for each individual gamers choice(s).

Everyone jumped on the gay bandwagon from the beginning. Totally missing that I had three options, gay, straight and random mix. In the end, a sexual orientation option would be the best solution.

Don't want them to get their gay cooties on you, huh.

And what is this "weird" scene? Because Krem never does anything more than spar with Iron Bull and sit in the tavern. Neither of those things are "weird".

* There are only two females in the entire DAI game, Leliana & Morrigan. Rest of the females having weird shaved heads and odd faces broke immersion.

You keep saying that word, immersion. I'm not entirely convinced you know what it means. Also, Josephine, Cassandra, and Sera all have shaved heads. You heard it here first. They don't actually have full heads of hair, even though their models in the game would lead you to believe they did.

I just don't like anything gay and would rather not see it in game. Of course girl on girl is just fine with me.

If you're cool with lesbians, why do you have a problem with Sera?

Also, I hope you realize how absurdly homophobic and bigoted this is. It must feel pretty bad being stuck in 1954.

It should be, and moved into the BioHazard section that only the mods can see.  Of course, it's getting onto the weekend, so this could stick around for awhile.

Really? Are there NPC's that were strictly gay for male on male romance only?

I'm pretty sure Skyrim allowed any eligible marriage partner to be married whether the player was male or female, it didn't matter.

Reasoned argument is lost on the OP. He puts forward a suggestion, it gets comprehensively shot down, and he rationalizes the reaction as unfair treatment.

The possibility that it was simply a terrible suggestion is inadmissible to him. Everyone else is just being unreasonable.

Unlike you kids in the "special" classroom, gay people aren't offended by straight people, and don't want to remove them from the game. Because doing that would be idiotic.

Blessed are the double standards. If only you had an IRL toggle for your own sexual preferences, then you could enjoy both equally!
